Complete Victorian porch set. This set includes 7 columns 114"tall with a 6" X 6" base. One of the bases looks to have been repaired sometime in the past it has been pieced together. A few of the bases are a little soft on the ends. There are 9 main corbels one for each column and 2 for the center columns. There are 28 More corbels that go with this set their are 2 for each column the larger of them go up against the column and the smaller are for the ends of these. The have there original chippy white paint. Some of the small detail pieces are missing. Overall this set id in good Salvaged condition. The pair of tall brackets have great shape and finials at the top. They are made of oak with alligator-ed paint. Each is 37.5 inches tall with 2.5 wide and 2.25 inches deep. The small set has Eastlake Spoon Carvings and carved finials. They are made of walnut and are currently painted. Each is 20.5 inches tall. 2 inches wide and 1.25 inches tall. Your bid buys the lot. Beautiful Corbels and Posts Made of Walnut or Oak! Antique Hardwood! The Two Corbels measure 5 1/4" tall x 3 1/4" wide. 4 1/4" deep at the widest point. The acorn carved posts measure 17 1/4" tall. 3 1/4" wide, 3 1/4" deep at the widest point. One of the pieces has a 5 1/2" piece of wood missing, 1/2" x 1/2" deep. It doesn't affect the front of the piece. They are beautifully carved. They probably came off the front of an old fireplace. These have many different uses. As a shelf support, pillars, decorative.etc. Small scuff marks. A little wear but very minor! Some nail holes in the sides where they were probably attached to something. See photo's for condition! Here are two gorgeous examples of Victorian wood trim in beautiful condition. I am no expert on antiques or architectural salvage. But I did a little research and hope I am using the right terminology. These have been at my parents' home for years if not decades. I grew up in an old house in the 1960s and they may have intended to put them on it, but never did, so they've been safely inside all this time. It's time someone put them to use as shelf brackets, book ends, decorative trim or whatever you can dream up! They measure 14" x 12" and are about 1" wide. For sale in this auction is a pair of porch brackets or porch corbels for decoration next to a porch post. These are off of a 100 year old house porch that was being torn down. They are made out of wood and most of the paint is gone. They measure approximately 14 inches long on the longest side and 12 inches long on the other side. They are approximately 3 1/4 inches wide on the back side. The tallest part of the decoration measures approximately five and half inches tall. They do have wear. The home owner had saved them when they renovated the porch in the 1970s.before it became zoned"Historic" They have a beautiful sunflower and grape design and are quite detailed. They are very HEAVY! Massive legs on tiny casters shows the sweeping scale of the large leg tapering to the tiny caster. I am not sure of the wood but it could be mahogany or rosewood. They have not been refinished and are in as is condition as shown in photos. They would make fantastic corbels or shelves.
