This auction is for a matched set of 4 antique cast iron hat or coat hooks. I would guess that these date to the Victorian period(late 1800's) But still show some nice luster along with the expected dirt and corrosion. These are complete, but one has a broken bracket(the spade shaped piece with the screw holes) These were cast in one piece. They extend 4 1/2" out from the bracket. Nice set of two coat hooks painted black. These measure 3 1/4 inches long and are about 1 inch wide at the back with the screw holes. It looks like they have acorn finials at the ends. Nice condition- no issues to note. There are four screws included- but they are not original to the manufacture of these hooks- but they do work. Good for restoration or projects. Questions welcomed! Up for auction these 6 Antique Vintage Cast Iron Coat Hooks Nickel Plated 6" These would have originally been mounted to a board(typically 1x4 oak) by notching the top backside of the board and inserting the piece at the top of the hook into the notch. There would also have been a round dowel(in this case ½” that would have been put through the large holes in the front of the hooks connecting them together creating a clothes rod. You can find examples of these on ebay and we know this because we have had one ourselves. Of course they can be used however you choose.
