They each ... moreweigh 20 lbs. They stand 16" tall. 11" wide, and 22" long. T hey have not been altered or painted. The c ast iron is in good condition. One andiron has two hol es: a hole near the wa ist and one on the cheek. You can spot the holes by the white on that andiron. The last two pics show the small cracks or holes. Our guess is that the white stuff is high temp putty put on by the factory when the andirons were cast to secure those thin areas/cracks that happened during casting. Since they were sand casted. Its not an exact science and the thickness varies. Also the one with the putty on it bends to the back a little bit. I suspect the original paint burned off and thats why you can see the putty. The logs fit properly in the dogs. They could easily be painted again or oiled. But I chose to leave them in their original state. If it is not pictured. Set of Brass Dolphin Andirons - Marked USS Bushnell - Bradley & Hubbard
Vintage pair of dolphin shaped cast brass/bronze andirons with scaled and scrolling tails. The dolphins are facing each other and have a dove-tail joint cast into the back for attaching the fire dogs/support legs. Each piece measures 13.5" tall x 7.5" wide x 2" deep and weighs approximately 6 pounds. The andirons are stamped"USS BUSHNELL" on the back and were produced for the naval vessel from the molds designed by Bradley& Hubbard Manufacturing Company of Meriden. Connecticut. The USS BUSHNELL(launched 1942) was a survey ship for the United States Navy and was based in Pearl Harbor. Bradley& Hubbard Manufacturing Company was one of the foremost creators of unusual brass designs during the turn of the century(lamps. Antique cast iron firedogs? stove parts? Measure 21 3/4" long x 8 1/2" wide at"legs" with an ornate design. Legs" are fancier on one side of each firedog than the other, the fancier legs have tabs in the tips which would have fit into something. On the underside there are the numbers 18 and 99. Firedogs are in good structural condition but are very rusty. There are bits of old chrome plating? that show a bit on one.

this is an absolutely stunning pair of rare antique ornate victorian brass fireplace andirons. they have an obscure design with a dual andiron on each piece. they have a great 3 dimensional flame finial which is very detailed. The back/ wood rests are made from cast iron. With a brass plate over the top, and this is where the second is located. the brass has a great patina from age. one measures 22 inches tall by 9 inches wide by 17 inches back to front. there is slight ware to one of the back finials but facing toward the back it is hard to see. and some blacking on the back of the backs as well but will buff or clean up. great rare set. Hi up for auction I have a pair of unique vintage andirons. They are made of metal. Brass and Lucite. The top balls have a floral design. The tops look like old paper weights. One andiron was broken and has a repair. I believe it wad dropped and someone glued it back together. Please see the last two photos to see the repair. Each has a weight of: 8 pounds. A pair of old brass andirons. Age is hard to determine. But I would think that these date to the first part of the 20th century. They screw together in pieces and mounted to a black iron rod. They appear to have been polished somewhat recently. They are a little lose, so the probably need to be taken apart and put back together(notice that the top cap of the left is a little cock-eyed) Each stands about 17" tall and their depth(with the black rod) is about 19" Please email with any questions. A Pair of Antique Puritan Brass Iron Fireplace Andirons These are in used mint condition- some polishing or cleaning up may be required. On the top of one"Puritan" is engraved and 100 L is under the rod. On the other 101 L only but looks to have an initial on the top just can't make it out. Early American Style Federal Colonial Style with claw feet and finnel tops. Arc backing to iron rod to hold the logs. A finnel top on the arc too. Sculpted hour glass makes a primitive look in your fireplace. There is very light green pantina on the brass and the iron rods have light coating of rust. There is a square nut and bolt holding the iron arc/rod to the brass front. The house they came from was an early 1936's colonial house. Any questions. Please ask.

ANTIQUE PAIR 1700s JAMESTOWN FIREPLACE IRON ANDIRONS SUSSEX BLACKSMITH MADE
We are pleased to offer this extremely rare pair of antique andirons! This pair dates to the late 18th or very early 19th century(late 1700s to early 1800s) They are a primitively fashioned pair with wonderful yet crude design. This pair is blacksmith made hammered iron. They are substantial in measurement and weight. The pair is very reminiscent of the Jamestown colony design(see these at http:www.gutenberg.org/files/16277/16277-h/16277-h.htm) There is a definite old English/Sussex influence to their design and styling. The pair have massive and bulky squared finials and ornate patterning to the fronts of the arched legs. The spit hooks are still intact. This is an incredible. OLD pair of andirons. One can imagine that George Washington would have had a similar pair! There has been no restoration to the pair and they have a beautiful weathered. ... moreWorn and rusted patina. There is creosote which needs to be cleaned but I will leave that to the purchaser(you may wish/leave some of it) As stated, they are quite old and are not in"like new" condition. They are structurally quite sound and sturdy. The andirons each measure just under 17" tall. They are 18" long with the fire dogs attached. The finials are 6" squares that are 3" tall. Estate pair of fabulous sold brass and iron Andirons. Very tall ones at 27" and 22.5" deep. Wonderful original patina on the solid brass. Log supports are solid cast iron. With solid brass secondary feet in-between. Really stunning pair for a large fireplace. Great Georgian style with ball claw feet. Don't see a makers mark. Guaranteed circa 1900. Very heavy and high quality you just don't see anymore.
