ANTIQUE ARTS AND CRAFTS MISSION HAND FORGED HAMMERED GILDED IRON ANDIRONS
We are pleased to offer this INCREDIBLE pair of OLD. Arts and Crafts Mission style and period, andirons. This pair is striking and features very detailed hand forged heavy iron. The patterning includes a hammered"notched" design which is random in direction and provides nice interest. The iron has nicely exaggerated and substantial curved legs with a 3 point leaf in between. The bodies are fluted and taper upward to the top finial design. The iron has been gilded. This gorgeous pair is in very good condition for the age(c1900) There is an aged patina as the gilded finish has dulled although it is still present in the light. The back side is a rusted patina. The pair is very good structurally and are quite sound. There are no manufacturing marks except for the number 3724 which is stamped on the back. Pair of Vintage Metal& Cast Iron Fireplace Andirons Firedogs Up for sale is a lovely pair of vintage metal& cast iron fireplace andirons firedogs. They are approximately 10 3/4" in height and approximately 17" in depth. Each andiron weighs approximately 6lbs. They are rather ornate and graceful in design and would look lovely in your fireplace(See First Photo) Condition Note; I do not know what kind of metal the ornate pattern is made of. I did remove the paint as it was cracked and peeling. Assuming the new owner could spray paint with their preferred color with heat resistant paint. The top of the leaf on the left is bent forward I don't think this was made this way but I have no idea how it would have gotten bent. There is a loop hole on the back of the left one mounted by a bracket that is fastened buy two screws ... morethe right one that part of the bracket is missing. I think this was to fasten a small chain between the two. This could be easily replaced. No cracks, chips, or rust. We are not a dealer. These were found in the family's cabin out building in storage. The cabin has been in the family since the late 1930's.

Offered is a very nice pair of Antique. Hand wrought iron andirons with brass knobs. Found recently at a local estate sale of an old Pennsylvania farmstead. The fronts have been cleaned lightly with steelwool and oiled, you may clean further and polish if you so desire. The tops are NOT BENT as the pics seem to suggest, just an illusion. Vintage Fireplace Andirons Iron Art Nouveau Craftsman Tulips Leaves Ribbons
These are fabulous; special and gorgeous; vintage Craftsman/ Art Nouveau styled andirons. With tulip and ribbon motifs, in great condition. This style became popular starting 1890-1910; I do not know their age. They are marked with a rosette on the top back; there are no other markings to indicate the maker. The design is so simple: the legs simply slide into the fronts. Which are beautifully detailed with tulips, foilage, and ribbons. They are iron; old and heavy: each weighs 8 pounds on the bathroom scale. Assembled. They are 18 1/4"Deep, front to back. Overall 16" high; the rods(solid steel. I think) where the wood lays are 3/4" square thick and stand 6" off the floor. The fronts are 9 1/2" wide at the base. And 5 1/2" wide at the upper part by the flower. Wonderful cast metal andirons. With pierced brass rosette tops. The scrolling brass tops feature an urn with flowers and thistle detail. They are raised, and sit on a slender gooseneck stem which emerges from a wonderfully textured, hand wrought leg. The base has an light arch and pad foot. Each is marked on the reverse with the number 238. They are attributed to a Sheffield. NY maker, C. 1900. The andirons stand 22" in height, and have a length of 18" The pierced ornament at the top has a diameter of 6" We have recently acquired the pair form a local New England estate, and they are in good condition. We have not cleaned them, so as to preserve the lovely patina that has started to develop on the top. The rear supports are clearly charred, as can be expected. vintage Hessian Soldiers andirons, firedogs-heavy cast iron
This is a set of used andirons. Firedogs for a fireplace. My husband and I are in the process of downsizing and these two guys need a new home. I believe they are Hessian Soldiers and are heavy cast iron. I don't think they are antique, I purchased them used and have had them for about 5 years. They have the usual scrapes from being used in a fireplace, but are not cracked or warped. I am listing other items, Check out my! Virginia Metalcrafters Cast Iron Andirons Brass Medallions 23" Complete Vintage
Top quality Virginia Metalcrafters vintage cast iron andirons with cast brass rosettes or medallions with a stylized flower motif. Some call these sunflower motif as well. Excellent used condition. No breaks. Repairs, weak spots, sagging log holders, bends etc. As found patina. We left them alone but you can blacken them up with stove black or heat resistant paint if you'd like. We left the brass with that wonderful mellow glow that only comes with time and use. Marked on the center of the upright. See photo, with hard to make out logo, repeated on the log holders. Each marked 1018 as well. We've had these before- the hammered details on both the upright and the log stop(the ball on the billets) say VM to us. The rosettes are stamped ANDIRON on the back Measure 23" tall to the top of the rosette. Each brass pierced head is 6-1/2" ... morein diameter. They are 12" wide with their turned scrolled feet. And extend back 18" Note that the common measurement for the logs(the nack part starting at the cast iron ball) is usually a standard 12" Andirons were designed to sit on a hearth. So ideally should line up with the log holder even to the fireplace box, so unless you want to use for gas, should fit a standard fireplace. Will remove log holders for safe shipping. Pair of Vintage Antique Large Brass Andirons Estate find. This is a nice pair of Decorative Andirons. I think they are made of brass with twisted posts and a round decorative finial at the top, carving in the front of the bases. a dark patina that I have not cleaned or polished. Nice Decorative Design, Solid and sturdy, iron fire dogs(iron log holders that extend to the back) in good shape. I will take the firedogs apart for shipping. I've seen very few with no glass eyes. The dogs are nice and straight and both retain their original black paint. They are signed on the back but the markings are not clear enough for me to read. Here is a beautiful pair of antique. High quality bronze andirons or firedogs stemming from the 19th century or earlier. They measure approximately 14 1/2 inches in height to the top of the finials. 7 1/4 inches in width at their widest point and 5 inches in depth(front to back) Their total weight is approximately 11 1/2 lbs. As shown in our photos. These gorgeous andirons display a classic design intricately detailed with a lion's head and paw in front. The top finials are ornate and substantial.
