The ... morebase measures 5.5" W. The cast iron log rests are 14" long. The rests are attached to the decorative front pieces by means of a single bolt/nut combo. One of these bolt/nut combos has been replaced with a new stainless steel set as you can see in the photos. Also please note the slight difference in the casting of the tips of the leaves. Not very noticable but I feel compelled to point it out so you can make a fully informed bidding decision. Vintage Cat Brass Metal Andirons
Up for consideration is a lovely pair of Vintage Cat Brass and Metal Andirons. The andirons measures approx. 19 1/2" tall. 19 1/2" long and 5" wide. The 2 cats have a very modern look- actually they look like Siamese cats. The metal appears to be a brass over metal. The brass coloring has almost a"burnt brass" look in some areas- don't know if it was designed this way or it just happened over the years of use- but. It is a really nice look. You can see it's old- has the old screw. Also, the portion that holds the logs, curves downward in the center area- don't know if it was made that way of if just from use. These are a unique, one-of-a-kind andirons!

Older Mid Century Ornate Brass & Cast Iron Fireplace Andirons/ Log/Wood Holder
These 19.5" tall mid century andirons came from an estate I cleaned out in SW Ohio. They have the spire brass tops which are 9.5" long then the base is a black wrought iron Roman column 5.5" long. The columns have a design on them on all 4 sides. See pictures. The splayed out legs are also wrought iron with decorative feet. The feet extend 8.5" from each tip. Notice the square nut on the back of the legs. It shows they are older. The log dogs are black wrought iron with brass including a brass tip. They extend 13 1/4" from where the brass curve starts but 17.5" including the curved brass area. These are in really good shape for their age. The brass looks nice but the wrought iron could use some brushing and repainting. They are very heavy. Over 17 lbs.

Same dealer and assume same age. The shovel does have surface rust. 4. Stoneware. Crockery, pottery pig/foot warmer: The stamp at the bottom is difficult to read, but I can make out Boston, Mass. if this was made by Dorchester Pottery Works. It is in nice condition except an attempt was made to clean it which left some light streaks on the upper end around the cork. All-in-all. There is nothing delicate about the scale and design of these andirons- they are quite substantial-looking but there is a gracefulness to the design of the upright. The ring is a separate casting attached with a screw. The surface has a slight hammered appearance and I think these would be very"at home" in an Arts& Crafts home. They have a lot of surface rust but the iron is still very strong. They need some TLC but I imagine that more design detail will reveal itself with some cleaning. The firedogs have seen a lot of use and show a lot of surface wear. Vintage Mid-Century Cast Iron Andirons needing TLC
Offered for auction is a set of two mid-century cast iron footed andirons that need some TLC. These were left in our home by the former owners when we bought the house in the mid‘70s. But we could not find the arms that were supposed to be with them. Originally they were glossy black(enamel? but left in our cool, dampish basement over the years, they are now lightly rusty. I took some of these photos before applying a simple kitchen Scotch Brite pad to them, to see if some of the rust would come off, which it did, rather easily(the first photo is the'after' and the last photo is'before' I used the cleaning pad) A real rust remover would make them look great, for anyone interested in restoring them. Vintage Set of Brass Fireplace Andirons-Fancy Base, Spire Top-17 1/2" H-British?
Offered is this pair of vintage andirons with fancy base design and"spire" top. They stand 17 1/2" high and are 7" across at their widest. They appear to be brass; they are not magnetic. The back"foot" is steel. They are very heavy. With the pair weighing about 15 lbs. The andirons are in very good condition. They are somewhat tarnished; I have not tried to polish them. There are some small marks and scuffs in the finish. The iron"feet" are slightly loose so they can be adjusted to give the andirons whatever front to back angle you wish. I do not know how old they are. There is a small round white sticker on one. Partially loose, that says"Made in Great Britain" The sticker was there when I found these but I can't be certain they were really made in Britain. As mentioned. Mission, Arts & Crafts Andirons - Rare, Large, Heavy, Unique!
This is a set of rare Arts& Crafts or Mission style andirons. I have not been able to determine the maker. I have been watching for close to a year now. And have not found a pair like them in any antique catalog, auction listing(including prior auctions) dealer listing, or for sale here on eBay. These have great style, and are all original. These are mostly cast iron. And they seem to have originally had a plate finish on them which looks something like an antique brass. I polished one face of the top piece of one of the andirons to show what the finish may have looked like. I have included a close up photo of this area for you to check out. You also can see some of the original plating in the close up view of one of the foot sections. This set could be polished to expose that plating finish all over(to the extent it still remains) they ... morecould be allowed to retain their current aged appearance, or they could be re-plated in whatever fnish the buyers prefers. Notes: The area that was polished will return to its aged appearance over time if it is not coated to prevent oxidation. Neither plating not polishing services are included in this auction. That said. If buyer would like these re-plated before being shipped, that might be able to be arranged. There are several very good plating services in the Milwaukee area. These are very heavy. They are attached to the brass fronts by one original peened-on iron rivet and 3 various newer nuts and bolts.
