Antique bible box and cross, walnut, early americana, primitive.
A recent PA estate find. All walnut construction measuring 18" tall x 11" wide by 9" deep. Looks to be a family bible holder with a cross fashioned out of solid walnut and joined with tiny flathead screws; interesting joinery visible on the back and a carved flower detail visible on lower fron shelf. The space where the bible would slide in measures 10.25" x 2" The whole thing is in fairly good shape, and appears to be hand cut and assembled. The finish is very minimal- perhaps only a simple coat of oil, if anything, but nothing very heavy as the wood shines through very well.

Rare Black Forest Skeleton Wood Works Clock
Now offering a large Original Antique Wooden Movements/Ano/Buco Clock. It is solid wood. Not a plastic reproduction. It is complete, including the Original Lead Weights and Rope. The only thing missing is one of the small Wooden Blocks that control the back and forth movement of the Beat Rod on top. You can see the wooden block in the third photo. I am now using Lead Weights that work fine. The small Wooden Block could easily be copied. I will include the replacement small weights along with the small wooden block with the clock. Clock works fine. These Clocks only have one Hand. The face is 6.6" wide and the whole clock is 15.5" high. Freight will be $25.00. No Returns acccepted and No International Bidders. Wife hates it, but I had this thing longer than my wife! This stands 33mm tall. And its width is 35mm. I tried mounting it once using hot glue, remnants remain. I painted it gold many moons ago. In addition, I filed the side of its head(see photo with horizontal file scrape marks) So, this head is no longer a spring chick. However, it is kosher and not the modern junk you find today listed elsewhere. I don't know if this head represents Aztec, but his profile sure resembles one. But then again, it looks like a cat, too. You figure. Pre-Columbian - Chupicuaro brownware
This elegant Chupicuaro burnished earthenware or brownware pottery bowl has an oval shape with lugs at each long end. Possibly serving as handles. The convex bottom rises to a deep waist with a very pleasant incised design of impressionistic mountains encircling the extended middle, and is topped by a wide, flared rim. The bottom and one side are darkened, either through the pit firing process or by use over a fire. The Chupicuaro started pottery production with their fine brownware and this is an excellent example of their mastery of that art form. Chupícuaro ceramics were all formed by hand without the use of a potting wheel. Estimated age of 500 BCE- 300 CE. Dimensions: 6” x 6” at the widest points, 5 ½” x 4 ½” at the opening. 2 ½” high in the middle, 3” high at the lug ends. Condition: The condition of this bowl is ... moregood with four chips in the rim, one rather noticeable chip and one very minor chip on the extended middle. There are also root marks and some mineral deposition, which are normal and indicative of its age. Please note that despite appearances the end lugs are in original condition and undamaged. Provenance- This item was recently purchased from the estate of the late Willis Pratt, a career academic at the University of Texas in Austin. Dr. Pratt owned a residence in Guanajuato and frequently visited Central Mexico between the mid 1930’s and mid 1960’s. Authentic Studebaker-Packard Corporation stock certificate dated in the 1960's. This is a real. Original stock certificate and is unique via the person/entity it is issued to, its issue date and the stock serial number. The vignette is a male allegorical figure holding a piston and calibration tool with a production line and draftmen scene in the background. Studebaker-Packard Corp was the result of the merger of Studebaker and Packard Motor Company and is a significant piece of automotive history. The last Studebaker was produced on March 17, 1966. The production of the last Studebaker did not mark a definite end of the company or its products. The Studebaker Corporation(the Packard name was officially dropped from the corporate title in 1962) had acquired numerous subsidiaries, such as STP, Gravely, Clarke and Onan, so although it did ... morenot build cars after March 1966, the company carried on. In mid 1967 Studebaker purchased the Wagner Electric Corporation and in November 1967 it combined with the Worthington Corporation to form the Studebaker Worthington Corporation. Authentic Mayan Jade Celt West Mexico, ex Kema Museum
This gorgeous. Highly polished, and fully in tact celt is carved from nephrite- the denser of the two stone types which are classified as jade. This celt originates from the Mayan cultural area of Western Mexico and is an authentic pre-1600 artifact. I purchased this celt from Gilbert Cooper during one of the auctions in which he was selling pieces deaccessioned from the now-closed Kema Indian Museum in Pennsylvania. This artifact comes with a letter signed by Gilbert Cooper and displaying the Kema Museum’s former letterhead. The celt also still has the Kema’s inventory stickers on it. Original Cleveland and Pittsburgh stock certificate dated in the 1970's. The certificate has a beautiful triple vignette with the center showing a old locomotive at a train station. The left vignette showing a farm scene with a steam boat in the background and the right vignette being the Seal of the State of Pennsylvania. The Cleveland& Pittsburgh Railroad was chartered in 1836 by the Pennsylvania Railroad Company in response to public interest in building a rail line between the 2 cities. Originally known as the Cleveland, Warren& Pittsburgh, the first charter was set aside until 1845, when interest in building a rail line from Cleveland to the Pennsylvania state line revived. Lack of funding delayed construction in Cleveland and forced the city council to ask for construction support at a public hearing in 1847. The following ... moreyear Cleveland voters approved a $100,000 stock subscription. By 1852 the track for the Ohio connection with Pittsburgh and Wheeling had been laid from Cleveland through Hudson and Ravenna to Wellsville on the Ohio River. In 1853 the Pennsylvania legislature incorporated the C&P line to connect Pittsburgh with the Ohio company. In 1856 a C&P train departing Cleveland became the first to burn coal in its locomotive engine; a more efficient fuel, coal quickly supplanted wood as the railroads' energy source. In 1871 the C&P was leased for 99 years to the Pennsylvania Railroad. It provided a valuable western connection for both the railroad and Cleveland; at its height in 1908, the line operated 256 miles and carried over 1.8 million passengers. 2 Antique Clay figures Man & Woman, Nayarit ?. Pre Columbian Pottery Very Old
These two figures were bought at an Estate Sale from a very Important Oregon Artist who loved Mexico. These were in his private collection and appear to be artifacts from a dig done decades ago or maybe even much longer ago. They could be hundreds of years old or thousands. I am no expert so I just don't know. They loose a little dust every time they are handled so I was very careful in photographing them. Please ask questions before bidding if you are not sure. I am no expert, just know that these appear to be a red clay and as you can see from the photographs some of the areas of each figure are worn off and a dust comes off of them when handled because they are so old. I have never had anything this old so will pack very gently when shipping them to you and if you have any special shipping instructions I will do my best to comply.
