Pre Colombian Parrot; carved of petrified cow bone before the 1900s; Tairona
Hand carved pre colombian parrot. Beak intact, no breaks or cracks. This is unique, not made out of any endangered animals. This piece made by Tyrona Indians of Colombia before the 1900s. I have seen pieces with broken beaks and wings. There is beautiful brown hightlights on the beak that will be more enhanced as oil is worked into this piece. Typically the Tyrona culture dates back to over 1500 years ago in Colombia. There is no endangered animal parts used.

Pre-Columbian Moche Effigy Pottery Jar, circa 100 AD-700 AD
Up for auction we have a wonderful piece of Pre-Columbian Peruvian pottery. Beautiful Moche figural effigy jar that show two figures holding a bound nude male prisoner. Stirrup spout handle protrudes from the back of this orange-ware vessel. Incised raised features. Tan slip on body and reddish/brown slip on figures and handle. A very elegant and unique piece of ancient pottery. Size: 7-3/4" Tall and 4-1/2" at its widest. Culture: Moche. Peru Circa: 100AD-700AD Some very slight surface wear and paint loss as to be expected of pieces this old. Small stress crack on face of large figure(see picture#5) Complete and in great museum condition. This displays really well. And some information found on the Long Island University Museum site: Stirrup Spout Vessels were the predominant ceramic form throughout the Pre-Columbian Peruvian region ... morefrom the earliest cultures beginning around 1000 BCE until the conquest of the Inca in the 15th century. Stirrup spout vessels comprise an enormous array of styles and designs but have the common characteristic of a stirrup. Or handle, and a spout. The handle, placed on top of a variety of bases that range from the simplest globular shape to elaborate portraits, could be vertical or horizontal. The spout(or spouts) were either attached to the handle or placed just behind it. They were both hand made and mould-made. Some were elaborately crafted, others were mass-produced. The vast majority of extant stirrup spout vessels have been found in burial sites scattered throughout the Andes. Scholars believe that some vessels were used only for burial purposes, while others were used for rituals and ceremonies. Still others, as indicated by the wear and tear are believed to have utilitarian purposes such as for carrying water or other liquids. well this 1934 $1000 note comes with an interesting story. previous owner states she was Evil Knieval's girl friend and was given this note by Evil Knieval in the early 1990's. she stated that this $1000 bill was use to make an exact image of the bill on his motorcycles gas tank. she states that the serial number on this bill will match the serial number on the image of this $1000 bill on his#1 Harley Davidson? we'll. This table appears to be an early 1800's Military or hospital portable"field" table. Perhaps it is an Undertaker's folding table. We are not exactly sure of it's intended use. It is very good condition. Considering it's age. The wood has delaminated slightly, but not lifting. The chrome is nice. It works as it was designed to work. The wood finish is very nice. It folds in half. The maker's name is Gleason, from Rochester NY.

New York Central Railroad Company issued and cancelled $10.000 gold mortgage bond certificate issued in February 1932. This is an authentic certificate, not a copy or reproduction. The certificate has a beautiful engraved lithographic vignette of an old steam locomotive with a harbor scene, a bridge and factories in the background. The bond is unusual in that it is payable in the Gold Coin of the United States upon maturity in 1998. The Troy and Greenbush Railroad was chartered in 1845 and opened later that year, connecting Troy south to East Albany on the east side of the Hudson River. The Hudson River Railroad was chartered May 12, 1846, to extend this line south to New York City; the full line opened October 3, 1851. Prior to completion, on June 1, the Hudson River leased the Troy and Greenbush. 100% authentic 1200-1400 A.D. Pre-Columbian Bronze Tumi Ring from Peru. The Tumi is a sacrificial ceremonial axe distinctly characterized by a semi-circular blade. Usually made of either bronze or copper made of one piece and used by some Inca and pre-Inca cultures in the Peruvian Coastal Region. In Andean mythology, the Moche, Chimu and Incas were descendants of the Sun, which had to be worshiped annually with an extravagant celebration. During this important religious ceremony, the High Priest would sacrifice a completely black or white llama. Using a tumi, he would open the animal's chest and with his hands pull out its throbbing heart, lungs and viscera, so that observing those elements he could foretell the future. I took the items over to some one I know that collects indian artifacts and was told that it was pre-columbian mayan pottery artifacts and thats all I have to go on. REPRODUCTION SPICE BOX CRAFTED FROM BLACK WALNUT WOOD
Spice boxes have a heritage going back several centuries. May have been used to store valuable spices and herbs but often to keep valuables. Usually nine or more drawers inside but I made this adaptation with one drawer on the bottom. Which may hold measuring spoons or other small tools. And two shelves to hold bottles of spices, Medicines or other small item you may want to keep handy but out of sight. Sized to fit on a kitchen counter and under the top cabinet which is usually 18" Hand made with a mixture of machine work and hand fitting and scraping. Dovetailed case sides and dovetailed drawer. As with any use of old wood there may be some checks and imperfections that I consider a gift of nature giving it character and an old look. Raised panel door closes with a brass cupboard turn. Over all it measures 17" tall x 14 1/2" ... morewide and 7 1/4" deep. Inside shelves 11 1/4" x 5"deep. 4 1/2" between top and top shelf and 5 1/2"to bottom shelf. Drawer inside is 10 3/8" x 4" x 2 1/4" deep. Dated and numbered. Thanks for shopping.

pre columbian andean Resin Copy of Wall relief from area of Tiahuanaco "Alien"?
About a foot high resin copy off an ancient wall relief carving from the area of the Tiahuanaco site complex in Bolivia. Copy was obtained in Ecuador decades ago. It was supposed to represent a Creator God. But since the 1970 such figures have been increasingly identified in popular culture as"Ancient Aliens" and the ceremonial costumes likened to spacesuits? Magnificent copy no matter what you call it- hand accented in gold and silver with an aged patina look. A very stunning wall decoration not commonly seen among Pre Columbian reproductions these days. I guess the Andean governments have tightened up on people taking castings directly off ancient monuments. Sold as is and a great conversation starter.
