Huge Silver Bacchus Biker or Viking Pendant
Up for your consideration is this 1 7/8" long by 1 3/8" wide pendant that weighs 38.6 grams. My test for silver shows it to have less than 800 silver content. It's fantastically detailed and I tend to suspect it's supposed to depict the God of Wine(and other alcoholic beverages) Bacchus. I bought it at an antique store over twenty years ago and the seller could not tell me much about its history other than she bought it at an estate sale. I used to wear it with a very heavy sterling as a necklace and it looked really neat. Good luck in bidding and thanks for looking.

N14 viking decorated THOR pendant hammer/runes/ring and dot RARE
One of the rarer forms of Viking age pendant- this is a male pendant to a follower of THOR. it is made from bronze the reverse is blank and it has a single punched square section hole to hang it from a leather cord. I am dating this at C10-12th. It was found in the UK by a detectorist who works in the north of England, Yorkshire which was a big Viking settlement during this period in time. The front face has a representation in simple form of Thors hammer, below it in runic letters is the word Thor and around it in a random pattern is a series of punched ring and dot marks with half-moons all around the outer edge. Condition is very good, there are no cracks or damage, it has been lightly cleaned so you can see the image but it has not been overcleaned, the surface has a golden greenish colour to the patina. These are pretty rare, I have ... moreonly had a couple of others in the last 20 years, although they are not as fine quality as the large silver Thor hammers, these simpler designs would have been made for people with less wealth or lower station in Viking society. This is a bear claw pendant that was found on the banks of the river Thames in London. It would date from the Viking age, I would estimate C10-11th so over 100 years old. condition is very good, the claw has taken a superb colour to it through absorbtion of chemicals in the mud over the centuries. It is solid and sound in condition, the hole is intact so I see no reason why you could not wear this today. bear claws and wolf teeth were worn by Viking men as both good luck charms for hunting and also as a sign of strength. N3 viking era SILVER cross christian pendant C11/12th RARE
A scarce form of Viking age pendant. This is silver and is an early Christian cross but decorated in Viking style. Condition is superb, the hanging loop is intact so you could wear it today. the reverse is plain whilst the front face is decorated with raised dots and lines in a slightly irregular pattern. I would date this at late c11th or early C12th, it is a fraction over 1 1/2 inches long. it was found in eastern Europe by a detectorist, it has had a light clean to remove soil encrustation but it has not been polished so has a very mellow patina to the surface. n40 GILDED CROSS PENDANT of the Crusader or late Viking era C11/12th RARE
An exceptionally fine example of a Christian cross pendant in a wonderful state of preservation dating from the C11-12th. It is made from bronze and the front face is gilded(gold plated) this would have been formed by mercury gilding the technique used in this era which gives this fabulous deep colour. There is a very high percentage of the original gold finish intact which is most unusual. When made this would have been an expensive piece for a high ranking person not a common man. The hanging loop is intact so you could wear this today without any fear of loosing it.
