The details and the SHINE of the superior alloy it was cast from makes it one of the best rings that I have EVER restored. The alloy has a special color to it and polishes up so nicely that I believe that it was cast from the same alloy that was used for the breastplates of Roman Centurions. This ring features an oval. Flat bezel. The bezel measures 13mm X 10mm The center of the bezel has a nicely engraved LEGIONARY EAGLE. Now the actual Eagle design is one of the best that I have ever received to work on. Most of these rings have an engraved outline or picture of an Eagle but this example is an intaglio carved into the surface of the bezel to be used as a seal ring in wax to seal letters. We also can tell that it was made as a seal because if you look at the ring the eagle is facing in the opposite direction that most are shown. However. When used as a seal the design comes out the correct way. You can still see the minute details like the veining of the feathers and the features of the eagles face. As you see in my pictures.
