This ring features a 14mm x 14mm rounded-octagon bezel. The bezel has a nicely carved"Star-Cross" on it. The Star-Cross was a very early spiritual symbol and in later years was worked into and adopted by the Christians of Rome as their symbol. It is made for men& women. The ring contain an authentic, ancient roman coin made of bronze and depicts the emperor Constantine(the first) The Great. He was the first Christian Roman Ruler being baptized on his death bed. He ruled the Roman Empire from 307 to 337 AD and his children, grandchildren, and nephew ruled to about 350 AD. The ring band is crafted from.925 sterling silver which is stamped on the band. I have put a coat of epoxy on the coin to protect it from chipping or other damage. Rare Ancient Roman Era Silver Zoomorphic Finger Ring Circa: 2nd Century
Genuine and original conserved European Roman Era(2nd Century AD) S ilver Alloy Zoomorphic Ring. The bezel of this rare example is formed from a trio of silver alloy strands cast as snakes, two serpent heads are observed with scale decoration seen. The ring has received light cleaning however. Most of the original silver oxide patina remains to the reverse of the bezel and frame. The zoomorphic bezel details are complete with the two snake heads remaining intact. Surface striation or scratch marks are observed and are in keeping with the age of the ring: UK size T. This guy has a great helmet and nice curls. I assume this is handmade(the bezel is slightly uneven) There is tarnish on the back and a fairly heavy scratch(possible from old gold testing) The cameo is beautifully done, I believe it is Italian, probably early 20th century. It is a size 6 1/2 and the cameo is 7/8" in diameter.
