Roman Bronze Drinking Cup
Roman Bronze Drinking Cup measures: 56 mm/ 47 mm weight: 58 gm The Roman Empire was the post-Republican period of the ancient Roman civilization. Characterised by an autocratic form of government and large territorial holdings in Europe and around the Mediterranean. The term is used to describe the Roman state during and after the time of the first emperor, Augustus. The 500-year-old Roman Republic, which preceded it, had been weakened and subverted through several civil wars. Several events are commonly proposed to mark the transition from Republic to Empire, including Julius Caesar's appointment as perpetual dictator(44 BC) the Battle of Actium(2 September 31 BC) and the Roman Senate's granting to Octavian the honorific Augustus(4 January 27 BC) Roman expansion began in the days of the Republic, but the empire reached its greatest ... moreextent under Emperor Trajan: during his reign the Roman Empire controlled approximately 6.5 million km2 of land surface. Because of the Empire's vast extent and long endurance, the institutions and culture of Rome had a profound and lasting influence on the development of language, religion, architecture, philosophy, law, and forms of government in the territory it governed, particularly Europe, and by means of European expansionism throughout the modern world. In the late 3rd century AD, Diocletian established the practice of dividing authority between four co-emperors, in order to better secure the vast territory, putting an end to the Crisis of the Third Century. During the following decades the empire was often divided along an East/West axis. After the death of Theodosius I in 395 it was divided for the last time.8] The Western Roman Empire collapsed in 476 as Romulus Augustus was forced to abdicate by Odoacer. The Eastern Roman or Byzantine Empire ended in 1453 with the death of Constantine XI and the capture of Constantinople by the Ottoman Turks led by Mehmed II. The 500-year-old Roman Republic, which preceded it, had been weakened and subverted through several civil wars. Several events are commonly proposed to mark the transition from Republic to Empire, including Julius Caesar's appointment as perpetual dictator(44 BC) the Battle of Actium(2 September 31 BC) and the Roman Senate's granting to Octavian the honorific Augustus(4 January 27 BC) Roman expansion began in the days of the Republic, but the ... moreempire reached its greatest extent under Emperor Trajan: during his reign the Roman Empire controlled approximately 6.5 million km2 of land surface. Very nice, good preserved, fully intact Roman bronze key - PLEASE READ!!!
Very nice. Good preserved, fully intact Roman bronze key! PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING! Please note. That I bought this beautiful key from a detecrorist, who literally ripped off the patina from the key with electrolysis. I spent a LOT of time to repatinate this artefact. Which took more than a 3 years. The key is a 100% authentic Roman key, but the patina is made my me. I used several bronze patination solutions. Mixed it with half-wet soil and burried it in a big plastic bag in the soil. This is the result you can see in the picture below and above(upper left picture gallery) So this is NOT a 2000 year old patina. Although it looks perfect. I just wanted to write this down. Not to cheat anybody. AGAIN: THE KEY IS 100% AUTHENTIC AND FULLY INTACT! Thank you for reading this description. All our items are 100% authentic with a 30 day money back ... moreguarantee! If you don't like the item(s) you won. Just ship it back and we give you full refund- no questions asked! He played a critical role in the gradual conversion of the Roman Republic into the Roman Empire. He began extensive reforms of Roman society and government. He centralized the bureaucracy of the Republic and was eventually proclaimed"dictator in perpetuity" He is seen here in his unrivaled power wearing ... morea generals attire. He wears the chest armor. Over what would have been, a wool tunic in a deep purple as used in martial triumphs. He holds a scepter, which is a symbolic ornamental rod or wand borne, in his left hand, significant of a ruling monarch as an item of royal or imperial insignia. His face looks out boldly to the cheering masses, raising his hand in acknowledgment. This icon of the ages was molded using the age-old methods of lost-wax casting and stained with a brown patina finish. Genuine Ancient Bronze Roman Thrace Bronze Bangle 100AD Bracelet
Archaic Genuine Ancient Roman Thracian Bronze Bangle circa 0-100 A.D. CLASSIFICATION: Roman-Thracian Bronze Bangle. Mounted onto plaque or shadow box upon request(additional shipping charges apply) ATTRIBUTION: Eastern Roman Empire(Thracia) 1st Century A.D. SIZE/MEASUREMENTS: Outside Diameter: 67 x 62 millimeters. Inside Diameter: 58 x 55 millimeters. Band Width: 6 millimeters at the top; 4 millimeters at the bottom. Band Thickness: 5 millimeters at the top; 4 millimeters at the bottom. Opening: 8 millimeters. Weight: 23.14 grams. CONDITION: Good. Intact of sound integrity. Moderate porosity(surface pitting caused by contact with earth while buried) Professionally conserved. DETAIL: A well preserved. Though very simple Roman bronze bracelet circa 1st century AD. It would fit a woman of light to medium build, and with that caveat, is completely ... moreand eminently wearable. The bracelet was recovered unbroken and intact. As is ordinarily the case, the artifact exhibits moderate porosity(surface pitting caused by burial in earth) Unlike so many smaller bronze artifacts which are completely disfigured by corrosion, this particular piece happened to come to rest in fairly gentle soil conditions. The consequence is that though you can see upon close scrutiny clear evidence that this bracelet spent millennia buried beneath the ground, nonetheless to casual examination it is quite pleasant, with the rich, warm glow of ancient bronze. You can clearly see. Of course, a series of shallow scallops caused by corrosive soil conditions. Naturally in these photo enlargements these blemishes are quite distinct. The effect is not unappealing– it looks quite a bit like the nugget style bracelets which were so wildly popular in the USA in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Despite the moderate porosity, the bracelet remains intact and wearable. And hand, to the casual observer, it simply appears a nicely toned bronze bracelet. However undeniably it bears the scars of having spent almost two thousand years in fairly corrosive soil cond

Roman Bronze Helmet Cheek Piece
Roman Bronze Helmet Cheek Piece measures: 153 mm/ 111 mm weight: 169 gm The Roman Empire was the post-Republican period of the ancient Roman civilization. Several events are commonly proposed to mark the transition from Republic to Empire, including Julius Caesar's appointment as perpetual dictator(44 BC) the Battle of Actium(2 September 31 BC) and the Roman Senate's granting to Octavian the honorific Augustus(4 January 27 BC) Roman expansion began in the days of the Republic, but the empire reached its ... moregreatest extent under Emperor Trajan: during his reign the Roman Empire controlled approximately 6.5 million km2 of land surface. He designed a huge range of sculptures in the Art Nouveau style(circa 1880 to 1910) Art Nouveau could be said to be the first 20th-century modern style because it was the first style to stop looking backwards in history for ideas, taking inspiration instead from what it saw around it, in particular the natural world. Descomps concentrated ... morein bronze and ivory figures. This graceful bronze classical representing two nude. Kneeling females and angel figure, mounted on a black marble base is a good example of his work. This is your opportunity to to acquire a beautiful Art Nouveau work of art by one of best proponents of the style. Who flourished in the country where the style originated. The Art of Lost Wax Lost wax casting has been around for thousands of years. Yet few people understand how the process actually works. Although mechanization has facilitated the lost wax process of bronze casting. The procedure is basically the same as that used by the Chinese when they first developed the process in the 2nd millennium BC. The design on the raised. 19mm X 17mm button shaped bezel that is over 5mm thick, is a nicely done"Diamond-Star Cross" design. which is HIGHLY ... moredetailed. LOOK.at the many fine lines which highlight this design. It is hard to tell from my pictures. But when this ring is worn out in the sunlight, the light plays across every single line which really makes it shimmer. There is almost no fading to the decorations even though this ring was probably worn by the same man for many years and would have been a much valued possession. We can tell this by the wear patterns on the band. To one side where there was probably a casting flaw the ring was worn thinner than the other side but remains fully intact. This ring is an excellent example of the period's craft. The ring is VERY MASCULINE and will be a highly noticeable wardrobe addition. The color and shine of this ring are SUPERB and this ring will make a welcome addition to ANY collection. Above is a picture showing you the shine of some of the rings that I am offering tonight. This ring is Round& Sound and 100% wearable This ring has a Wonderful Golden color to it with faint patina traces remaining This ring is not a perfect circle but measures right around a size 10 American Average Opening measures 19.84mm_
