striking! I really don’t have a lot of information about this carved statue. It looks to be in the Olmec style and appears to be quite old. I think the ... morematerial might be Mexican onyx or maybe alabaster. Or it could be something else. The head is a little large. With a bulbous shape in the back. The ears are pierced. As well as the corners of the mouth and he is wearing a simple loincloth. Approximate Measurements: 9”H x 3½”W In good condition for its age. The arms are broken off. A wonderful ancient Peruvian Chimu culture effigy bottle. Dating to approximately 1100-1400 A.D. An attractive burnished bottle. Of globular form, with ... morerounded base. A moulded figure of an ox sits in rest atop the bottle with a cylindrical spout emerging from the beast's back. The Chimu are primarily known for their distinctive black glazed pottery. Strongly influenced by their predecessors, the Moche. Examples of their enchanting ceramics can be found on display in the world's top museums. The Chimu ruled much of the coast around their capital of Chan Chan in northern Peru until conquered by the Inca in the fifteenth century. Ancient Peruvians left no written records, thus their material remains are the only existing link to this long gone and intriguing ancient people. This fascinating piece is a wonderful example of its type. And was once part of the Arthur M Sackler collection, one of the world’s leading collections of ancient art. Height: 7 inches. Condition: Excellent condition; minor restorations. Old collection data on base and inventory tag attached. Provenance: Ex. collection of Arthur M Sackler. 1913-1987. Sackler established a plethora of institutions which bear his name, including the Sackler Institute of Graduate Biomedical Science, the Sackler School of Medicine, the Arthur M. Typical wear from age and use. Outside is plain. A bit rougher, with a few light fire clouds below rim. Outer surface is off white. Clay body has a gray inner core. Wikipedia- Anasazi pottery is a form of Pre-Columbian American pottery that is widely studied and treasured by collectors and enthusiasts. The Anasazi are the best known of the ancient Pueblo peoples or ancestral Pueblo peoples whose culture centered on the present-day Four Corners area of the United States. Comprising ... moresouthern Utah, northeastern Arizona, northern New Mexico, and southwestern Colorado. They lived in a range of structures, including pit houses, pueblos, and cliff dwellings designed so that they could lift entry ladders during enemy attacks, which provided security. The word Anaasází is Navajo for"Ancient Ones" or"Ancient Enemy" Archaeologists still debate when this distinct culture emerged. The current consensus, based on terminology defined by the Pecos Classification. Suggests their emergence around the 12th century BCE, during the archaeologically designated Early Basketmaker II Era. Beginning with the earliest explorations and excavations, researchers wrote that the Ancient Puebloans are ancestors of contemporary Pueblo peoples. Lg Pre-Columbian Pottery Fragment & Unknown Bowl w/ Rat or Mice Motif + Figurine
Here for your consideration is a mixed lot of Pre-Columbian and unknown period pottery. This lot is from a nice collection of authentic pre-Columbian artifacts. I know for certain that the large broken pottery fragment in this lot is pre-Columbian. But I have my doubts about the rat bowl and sitting figurine. The bowl is completely hand made and beautiful, but the condition of the surface seems to be too good. There is dirt in the creases along the rats and looks soiled within, but you'll have to be the judge on this piece. Seems raku fired. The figurine appears to have been possible in the process of restoration? It's a cool little piece, but I do not know the age and cannot guarantee when it was made, so you'll have to be the judge on it too. If you'd like to share your opinions on these two interesting pieces, I like to ... morehear them. The man that amassed the collection that these were a part of, had a thing for authenticity, so I don't think these would have been in his collection if they weren't of some importance. This lot being sold as is as described, no returns. Low opening bid no reserve.

Antique Pre Columbian colonial pottery artifact relic native made smoked pipe
This interesting piece is a carved black ware pottery pipe that has been smoked. This does not mean broken in for your use. It has a cute turtle sitting over the bowl. An interesting motif since one of many myths the inca's had was that the world rests on the back of a turtle. It has carved geometric designs in stem. At first I thought it was a real Pre Columbian relic. I had it assessed by a major Gallery. Artemis a Gallery and it is actually an old colonial piece from the 1709s or 1800s. Still handmade by indigenous natives with markings and designs used for centuries. It's a fun piece for a collector. * Pre-Columbian Terracotta/Pottery Clay Funerary Figure Relic *
I bought this pottery figure from an estate auctions where there were several other pieces- some of which I will be also listing and some I am keeping for my own collection. I was told it was Pre-Columbian pottery and from my research here on Ebay it appears to be made of terracotta. Also from my research on Ebay and other sites. And judging from the other pieces that came from the same collection, it does appear to be authentic. However, I am not an expert in this area so PLEASE use your own judgment and bid accordingly. This piece measures about 8 1/2" tall. The piece appears to be solid judging from the bottom, which is solid, not hollow. There is a hollowed-out area in the bottom front of the figure that I was told was there to hold something relating to the burial, but I can't remember what. If anyone knows and cares to share ... morethe information, I will be glad to add it here. Please look at the photos carefully. This is not in perfect condition but seems appropriate for the age- exact age to be determined by you. Please E-mail me with questions or additional photos of specific areas of the figure. Thanks.

Pre-Columbian clay pottery Inca, Mayan $325
A small piece of pottery I bought from a friend when we were both about 7 years old. In the early 1960s. It's never been appraised, but has been looked at by a researcher who specializes in Mayan history and culture who believes that it is a Mayan object. It stands about 4 inches tall and almost as wide, about 2.75 inches deep(front to back) Condition is as seen in photos; chipped/missing pieces from top and at tip of left hand/fingers. There's a large long crack in back from falling off shelf during a California earthquake(1990) No restoration work has ever been done. It still sits and displays nicely on a shelf. Not much more to say about it, but email or post questions and I'll do my best to answer. RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fvo%7B%3Dd70f%2Bf52%3E-1440e8de1f1-0xdf-

Pre Columbian vintage mask handmade Peru, inca God, pottery artifact relic
Great decorative piece made in mid 1900s in Peru by a Peruvian artisan. Likely Inca descendant. Has a loop on back to hang. Last photo is rear side not blotched pic. This is an Inca God. Wonderful copper masks were made by the Incas among other cultures with great intricacy. This has Silver eyes but I am not sure if plated. It's good fun item to add an Incan feeling in a home with Latin decor. Uncommon item and one of a kind handmade. Good pre Columbian artifact replica of mask. It has"Peru" stamped on back of it. Is an exceptional example beautifully modelled with a haunting expression and facial features. It has large ear spool stretchers and a concave curved back, the surfaces have buffish shades of encrusting from burial. Pre Columbian Mayan pottery rattle, ritual, artifact, relic art COA
Really cute rare authentic Pre Columbian Mayan pottery artifact ceremonial or ritual rattle. Stand goes with it. This Mayan piece is nicely proportioned and a cute artistic artifact. Pre Columbian cultures often used music with strings. Flutes, rattles, and rattle vessels in rituals and ceremonies and the Mayans too. I am not sure if the rattles might also be placed in tombs to scare away bad spirits. They would be shaken for sound. There are lots of Pre Columbian pottery flutes around but not many of these rattles. Some minor surface scratching on pottery with some white spots. Purchased from Artemis Gallery. Dealers in ancient and pre Columbian art, and COA available on request. Great piece for conversation and it works. I am sure not meant as baby rattle but more as later maracas for rhythmic music or to ward off spirits in ceremonies ... moreor in burials. Ht. 5 inches. Width is 1 inch. A little guy but unusual and will enhance a collection. Culture Mayan CA 500 AD Provenance Artemis Gallery dealer in antiquities and having an auction coming in March. PRIMITIVE OLD POTTERY Pre-Columbian Jalisco, Mexico 100 B.C.- 250 A.D ARTIFACT
This rare sculptural pottery female/mother figure measures approx 10" a tad under that) and approx 6" wide- from arm to arm. She weighs approx. 429.2 g or 15.140 oz. I feel she is in fabulous ancient condition with a"worm" hole in the back. A tiny shallow one on her chin and an intentional hole in front of her ear, which I believe might have once held an earring? On the back"heel" of her right foot there appears to be restoration to the pointed"heel" but she stands well and looks like a million bucks for her age! Please view all photos and ask questions and I will answer them as forthrightly as I am able. My guess is this tribal"mother"WARRIOR" figure represents the archetype or the ancestor or the fertility goddess of the culture. She has incredible features that depict royal"aztec" ... moreindian or mayan blood lines. Full breasts at shoulder level as a symbolic message- strength, stability, NURTURING power. All in all this is an excellent. Precious and ancient piece of Ancient History whether your interest lies in Latin American, South American, The Americas or Native American History! We ship globally. Published Pre-Columbian pottery Vicús Stirrup Warrior Bottle - 400 BC
A well provenanced. Ancient Vicús earthenware effigy beaker, dating to approximately 400-100 BC. A stirrup spout bottle in the form of a seated warrior. The warrior with typical Vicús features; large hooked nose. Slit mouth and almond shaped eyes. He is shown with conical helmet, cylindrical ear spools and cloak. He clutches his hands to his chest and stares intently at the viewer. A circular stirrup with spout is modelled onto the figure's back, turned at the top in a similar fashion to early Moche I and II spouts. The ancient Vicús culture. Estate Pre-Columbian pottery jade axe
I only ship to the US. All items sold"AS IS" No returns. No refunds. My uncle always told me he had a substantial Pre-Columbian pottery collection. When he passed. I found a LOT of pottery in his house and brought most of it home with me. I am listing a few pieces weekly. He was very interested and educated in the various cultures and was fascinated with the artifacts they left behind. He traveled to South America twice a year from the 1960s-1990s and visited many ruins and historical sites– that’s about 40 years of collecting. He had very close friends in South America. I will be totally honest and say that I DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT PRE-COLUMBIAN POTTERY. If there is any paperwork with an item. I will include pictures of the paperwork. THE PICTURES SHOW EVERYTHING I KNOW ABOUT THE POTTERY. Please review the pictures carefully ... morewhen deciding to bid. This is a smoke free home but not a pet free home. We love our pets.
