2 Pieces of Arawak indians artifacts. I was at the site where this items were dug from in the north border of Haiti and Dominican Republic. in 1981 One ... moreis a fertility God made of a softer stone. And the other one is a hand seed crusher, made of a very hard stone. One is approximately six inches long- and the other one is 5 inches in diameter A short history. This artifacts were bought in Port Bue Lemonade in the north shore a few miles of Cape Hatien. I was there doing a reportage on a Doctor. A Surgeon from Clearwater Florida, that once a year will visit the Albert Schweitzer hospital to do do cosmetic surgery on children's with Cleft Lip. On the day before returning to St. Petersburg. Fl. I saw a young man selling a rusted spanish musket- with my limited Spanish and French. I understood that his father was farming and pulling some of that stuff with his plow. I thought to do a short piece. And asked him to take me to his father. There at the end of the field was a small thatched roof hut. And inside there were a number of artifacts- all to big to carry back home in my camera bag- well, not rto waist the trip, and to make the young man happy, I bought the two smallest pieces i could afford. And here they are. They ARE ORIGINAL_ NO COPIES. I HAD TO CLEAN THE MUD AND DIRT FROM THEM. I'm retired from the newspaper business. And this artifacts have been in a box since then. I'm cleaning all the memorabilia, and this ones are looking for a better home or museum. Cheers. Ask lots of questions. PayPal only please. I'll ship world wide.Insured.

Jama Coaque Manabi Figure - Ecuador - Pre Colombian Art
I purchased and exported this figure(legally) from Ecuador. I have an export certificate. The figure represents a"Novia" bride) and was once complete with legs. I verified as best I could its origin at an ethnographic museum and an antiquities dealer but I cannot guarantee it. The sculpture has dirt and discoloration inside and out and many layers of what appears to be a brown patina on its surface. The Jama-Coaque period was from 300 AD until 1530 AD. As you can see from the photos it has several breaks on the ornamental head dress. It has been mounted for display on a mahogany base with an oak dowel which pulls out easily from a piece of foam inserted in the head. It would make a nice addition to a collection.

Vintage Tooled Ottoman Foot Stool Latin America Pre Colombian Motifs
Vintage Tooled Ottoman Foot Stool Latin America Pre Colombian Motifs Gorgeous handcrafted and intricately hand tooled ottoman. I don’t know if it was made in Peru or Mexico but the motifs are definitely Pre Columbian. It is obviously very well made or it wouldn’t have lasted as long as it has and still be beautiful. It has a great patina. I bought it at as estate sale and it is currently filled with newspapers from 1980. You could fill it with anything you wanted. The handle is coming off on one side. This could be fixed by tacking the handle back or removing the handle completely. Currently most ottomans don’t have handles. But that would be your decision. The last two pictures show the handle issue. I am not a great photographer but I included pictures of all the sections so you could see the incredible tooling. There are even pictures ... moreof the Spanish conquistadors. It measures about 9” high and 15” in diameter. It also weighs 8 pounds. I have priced it to go to California. But if it sells to someone closer I can refund the appropriate amount to the buyer. I don't try to make money on shipping. Your purchase will be shipped within 3-4 business days of receipt of payment. It will be shipped USPS 1 st class with delivery confirmation. I make every effort to insure quality items however. Please let me know if you have any issues, customer satisfaction is my goal. THANKS FOR LOOKING
Pre-Colombian Mayan Jade Plaque and Jade Beads (with modern rubies)
Pre-Colombian Jade beads(With modern faceted Rubies) Coastal Peten Region of Guatemala• 200-900 AD Jade was very important to the Mayan civilization. Representing a transitionary stone capable of existing in both the Underworld. Xibalba(home of the Gods) and the surface world of Mankind. The various adornments; beads, earrings, teeth, and ear flares were worn to show wealth, connection to the Gods, and to heal ailments. The pendent is in the style of a Lord’s Plaque. Perhaps showing station within the royal family. Or tribute to them, this Pendent was a sign of wealth and prestige. Precolombian cultures valued Jade above Gold. They would use Jade as a trade good and monetary unit. The green also invoked the Quetzal bird and the Feathered Serpent Kulkulkan.

Vintage Pre Colombian Colima Pottery Standing Dog Figure Fat / Hairless / Mexico
Estate Sale Find- Vintage 5" x 3 1/4" x 3" Standing Pre Columbian Pottery Colima Dog Figure You are bidding on the red clay figure shown in the photos. I believe this is a mid-century replica of archaeological finds in Colima Mexico. It is priced as such. The piece is unmarked but the incised lines that delineate the features have distinct edges. The term"pottery dog" is used to identify the body type of a particularly heavy specimen( a desirable trait in the days when dogs were used for food) The figurine IS standing despite the fact that its belly nearly touches the ground. Other than the lines for the features. The body is smooth. Hairless dogs were sometimes represented in this way and at other times( when non-pottery types) the surface wrinkles were drawn in. The hairless trait is good for survival and weight ... moregain in times and places where there are fleas and no anti-itch meds. The hairless gene is known to be associated with missing and shallow rooted teeth so it is particularly interesting that this figurine has a big tooth-filled grin incised into the clay. This came from an estate sale about 15 years ago and was among souvenirs from a family's 1950s Mexico trip. It is sold as found. Sorry. No returns. Please view the photos, read the description carefully, and ask any questions before you bid. Any custom packing requests must be communicated BEFORE the auction ends so I can reflect any additional costs on your invoice. If you are bidding on more than one andesalive auction. Your winning items will be shipped separately with the shipping and handling charges as listed on each individual auction site unless you have been in communication with me for a batched item quote BEFORE the auction ends.

Pre-Colombian Stone Figures: Mayan, 400 AD-1100 AD, known as Camahuiles.
This is a collection of 12 Pre-Colombian Camahuile Ancesteral stone carvings. Highlands of Guatemala. 400 AD- 1100 AD As translated from the oral history of the Kaqchikel indians of Guatemala- When a Grandfather. Uncle, or close relative passes a child will grieve for their loved one. This grief inhibits their growth. A Camahuile is given to the child to remember the love they had. Soon this child will see that others in the tribe have similar Camahuiles. Their loved one is no longer their own. But has become an ancestor to all. Translated by Ari~ Posted with
Mayan 'Monkey God' Funerary Bowl: Pre-colombian
Mayan Funerary Bowl This is an excellent example of late or post classic Mayan Ceramic Traditions. 700-1100 AD) Repaired before acquisition. All pieces are present and original. Featuring the monkey Glyph in the center with floral patterns around the edge. The bowl may have been a sacrificial bowl to aid the journey into the afterworld. The Gods first made man from the trees. The attempt was unsuccessful. The gangly'Men' were sinners. And the Gods decided to eradicate them. A few of these sinners fled the slaughter and hid amongst the trees. These monkeys became our ancestors when the Gods made us out of corn. Mankind today is descended from the first men made of corn. And can still see their ancestors climbing in the jungle. Translated from a Mayan myth ~ Ari. Authenticated by a number of well established collectors and Ethnologists. ... moreThis piece is a perfect addition to a collection. 100% Guaranteed. Posted with
