A beautiful heavy Persian/ Eastern silver compact. It is unmarked but tests as high grade silver. I dates to the early 20 th century c1920-1940. It has been beautifully made from thick gauge silver being of circular form with an enamel and filigree lid and engraved base. It retains its mirror. It is in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs. Just some tiny scratches to the thumb piece and a couple of tiny marks to the lid edge(see final photo) The mirror is in very good condition having no cracks or chips. Two identical chairs. Persian intricate inlaid work of Mother of Pearl and Ivory were purchased from an antique shop in the Big Bazaar near Lalezar Nov in Tehran Iran in 1940. My parents bought the chairs and they were told at the time that the chairs were quite old. We cannot testify to them being Persian. Perhaps Lebanese or Syrian. They are in superb condition as the photos verify. They are 21 1/2 inches left to right. 20 inches front to back and 32 inches high. They can be picked up in Beverly Hills or Van Nuys California. Beaded borders and interesting textured sides. Made from a high purity(900) of solid silver with a thick gauge making it an impressive weight for size of 19g. It is beautifully proportioned at 31mm x 25mm x 11.5mm. I am not sure about the origin. It may be Persian or Egyptian but my best guess. Based on the 900 silver standard is that it is Turkish. Antique Indo-Persian Arabic Afghan Horn Bone Hilted Pesh Kabz Dagger c1860 This is for an antique Indo-Persian Afghan Arabic horn and bone hilted pesh kabz dagger. Circa 1860. The tapering single-edged steel blade, has a triangular section back, and is chased with decoration at the forte. The hilt has steel bolsters and steel edging, with bone and horn grips, carved with circular decoration. The dagger measures 33.8 cm in length overal. The blade measures 23.5 cm in length. It weighs 183 grams. The condition is generally good, there is pitting to the steel from age, and one piece of bone from the hilt has been restored, no other damage. Please see images. The Previous owner used it as a candle stick as there is red was residue inside. Could be an ink well as it has a rest/indentation for what could be a pen. 19th Century or earlier in my opinion. Has the look and feel of Quajar Period Persian Pottery Tiles and such. Simple and elegant design and hand work. Hand created and hand painted and enameled and primitively glazed over. cobalt blues. In addition to being a rug-weaving center, Mashad is also a trade center for the rugs of its neighboring villages and tribes such as Baluchis and Turkomans of Iran, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan. The Majority of Mashad rugs are woven in workshops; others are made on home-based looms in surrounding villages. Mashad mostly produces large rugs. The majority of MASHAD RUGS are woven with the asymmetrical(Persian) ... moreknot although the symmetrical(Turkish) knot is found. The pattern of Mashad rugs is almost always curvilinear. The most common Mashad design is shah abbasi medallion-and-corner with large pendants. Persian decorative wall hanging/charger. Measuring 27.5" in diameter and weighing about 10 lbs. It is primarily made of hand-hammered copper, which has been darkened on the surface and accented with inlaid silver and copper in the form of deer and geometric motifs. The silver has been cleaned somewhat in two of the circular reserves, but is otherwise very dark and would stand out much more if polished. The charger is in excellent condition. When it comes to find a 14' long + antique Persian runner. It won't be an easy task to find one. The runner that I am offering here is a beautiful and decorative Persian Kurdish, which is made of wool on wool foundation. It has nice and well balanced decorative color combination on top of paisely design that is one of the most well known classic pattern in Persian rug. This beauty is in good condition, still has decent pile for its age, but if you refer to the close ups you will notice that ends are a little bit uneven, which easily could be reinforced upon request or to be used as is. Antique Rug Persian or Russian there is a mark on the back maybe Russian ?
Not really sure of this. There is a very faint stamp on the back. It looks like a Russian mark or something. I tried to take a picture of the mark but it would not show up. I have included the pictures and if anyone can make out or knows this mark please let me know. This rug has natural ware however it still has superb color. The fringe is worn as shown in the pictures. I think it is from the 1900's all I know is that it is very very old. It measures about 6’3” x 4’4” Don't miss out on this rare vintage carpet. SAROUK(also known as SARUQ and SAROUGH) is a village around 50 km north of Arak in the Markasi Providence in central Iran. The main thing most impressive about Sarouk it its weaving industry. Sarouk weaves not only extremely impressive artwork but a mass quantity as well. Pieces are produced not only on village looms but also workshop or city looms. Sarouk(Saruq) rugs and carpets are characterized by both curvilinear ... moreand geometric patterns and come in both traditional and American styles. The traditional designs consist of Herati. Boteh, or gul hannai motifs in either an all-over or medallion layout. The medallion layout could have a hexagonal, oval, diamond, round, or angular floral shape. The most interesting traditional design is a medallion-and-corner layout which consists of geometric yet very naturalistic floral motifs. Sarouk(Saruq) rugs and carpets are very famous, however, it is not easy to determine true Sarouks(Saruqs) from those of neighboring villages and cities. Sarouk(Saruq) rugs and carpets are of excellent quality. Antique(1900) Sarouk(Saruq) rugs and carpets are of extremely high quality and are collected by museums and private collectors. After WWII, the quality Sarouk(Saruq) rugs and carpets were dropped for a brief period. Now some of these carpets, which are of the very highest quality are being exported all over the world, especially to Europe and America.
