Sites shift, tumble and move so there is no layering to study. Collector Grade artifacts are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. Kevin Pipes has been in the business of collecting artifacts since he was child and has been selling them for at least 30 years. He is well established in the artifact and knife communities. He can be found in the Who's Who for Indian Artifact Collectors and pieces of his collection have been featured in several books and archaeological journals. He is also distinguished by being one of the first African Neolithic collectors and importers. Since he founded Smoky Mountain Relic Room in Sevierville. Huge Neolithic Flint Spearhead 46mm - 4000BC (B039)
Neolithic Flint Spearhead Spearheads are. In general larger than arrowheads. Length: 46mm Width: 20mm Material: Flint Colour: White/ Brown Type: Bi-Face with Tang Age: 4000BC Area: Sahara I have personally handled over 10.000 of these'flints' during my collecting over the last 10 years. The majority of flints on the market today were found in North West Africa. This is not a reflection on the density of usage of these items but more a reflection of the areas current climate- being very arid it makes it easier to find these items. The Sahara is the world's largest hot desert. Over 9,000,000 km²(3,500,000 mi²) almost as large as the United States. The Sahara is located in northern Africa and is 2.5 million years old. Its name, Sahara, is an English pronunciation of the word for desert in Arabic. The boundaries of the Sahara ... moreare the Atlantic Ocean on the west. The Atlas Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea on the north, the Red Sea and Egypt on the east, and the Sudan and the valley of the Niger River on the south. The Sahara is divided into western Sahara, the central Ahaggar Mountains, the Tibesti Mountains, the Aïr Mountains(a region of desert mountains and high plateaus) Tenere desert and the Libyan desert(the most arid region) The highest peak in the Sahara is Emi Koussi(3415 m) in the Tibesti Mountains in northern Chad. The Sahara divides the continent of Africa into North and Sub-Saharan Africa. The southern border of the Sahara is marked by a band of semiarid savanna called the Sahel; south of the Sahel lies the lusher Sudan and the Congo River Basin. During the Late Neolithic period(approx 4000BC– 2000BC) the Sahara had a much wetter climate(sometimes known as the Aqualithic) and was akin to modern day North America. Arrowheads are typically collected and traded by the local nomadic peoples of the Sahara. They find them as the sand dunes move and they travel around seasonally grazing their herds. Finding and collecting items such as these provides them with a reasonable, stable inc
37 common-grade Sahara Neolithic points and tools
Lot Description: This is a diverse group of 37 average. Common-grade Sahara desert found tools. This lot is composed of a diverse group of projectile point and tools forms. The lot consist of all the main types including stemmed. Triangular, ovate, and unifacial and are mostly from the southwestern Sahara(northern Mauritania/Mali) Th ese tools were used to hunt and process water fowl and other game in the now dried up lakes of the Sahara 4.000 years ago. Most of these tools are on the smaller size. The shortest tool is 9/16th inch long(14 mm) The longest tool is 1 3/4th inches(42 mm) The condition is good. There are ancient dings to some of these points and tools, as can be expected with working tools. These small tools were used and lost or discarded when they became too small to use; most are complete. See picture for details. The color ... morein hand. Is better than the picture indicates. The natural light somehow washes out the color or maybe it's my photography skills. These relics are representative of everyday tools. Many of these tools were used until they could no longer function well because they were to small to re-sharpen at which point they were discarded others were lost in the hunt. A nice diverse sampling of Sahara tools! Background information is provided with my 2-page essay on the subject. Which will be included. Neolithic populations living near now dried lakes and rivers in what is now the Sahara desert; used these tools in the hunt for and processing of waterfowl and small game. The end of the Ice Age resulted in global climate changes which stopped the rains and forced these Neolithic(New Stone Age) peoples into new modes of existence. Either agriculture which was just beginning at the end of the Neolithic, or a nomadic animal husbandry mode of existence. The New Stone Age was a very dynamic era giving rise to agriculture, pottery, and permanent settlements, all of which were milestones in humankinds march toward'civilized' life. The Sahara Neolithic lasted from 9,000 to 4,000 BP(years
32 Sahara Neolithic relics - tools, celt, beads, and 1 paleolithic tool.
This group of 32 Sahara Neolithic relics is composed of diverse types of relics. Which were discovered on ancient habitation sites deep in the western Sahara desert, mostly in the vicinity of northern Muaratania/Mali but also includes two trianglar Eiffel Tower points from Algeria. This group consist of several types and subtypes of projectile points from varying periods of the Neolithic era. Including ovate, stemmed, triangular, and unifacial tool forms. In all there are 18 stone projectile points and tools, 10 hard-stone quartz disc beads, one pottery bead(western Mauratania) one hardstone celt, and a cylindrical labret of quartz thought to be used in body piercing or lips or ears. Not perfect, it probably is not comple at the squared off end. There are two unifacil blades seen at the bottom. They are from the late Mesolithic era or early ... moreNeolithic Morocco. Dating to approximately 7,000 years Before Present. At the upper right you will see an Auterian tool. This is the earliet known type of stone tool with a stem for hafting. Probably to serve as a knife/scrapper. It is classic form with a tipped which is worked around for scrapping(not broken) This relic is a good 30,000 years old, possibly much older. This is one of the more diverse offering of ancient Sahara relics you will find. The shortest point is a biege triangle of 7/8th inch(21 mm) long. The longest tool is a nice ovate blade of 2 5/8th inches(66 mm) long. The celt is 1 1/4 inches(32 mm) long. Heel to bit. It has been worked down to a stubby form with a bit dulled from usage. Th ese are everyday work tools and adornments used. And lost or discarded by our Neolithic and earlier hunter-gatherer ancestors. They are all honest, authentic relics in good shape, some will exhibit minor ancient damage(as seen in he photograph) Such as dings, usually to tips, tangs, and/or barbs to stemmed points. Small dings are to be expected given their delicacy, usage, and 4000+ years lying in the desert, subject to damage by adverse weather, animals, and now 4-w

Ancient Scandinavian Stone Age Neolithic Flint Axe
A beautiful. Rare and well provenanced Neolithic axe, dating to approximately 4000- 2000 B.C. and found in Scandinavia. This beautiful chip stone tool was made from a large piece of flint. It is traditionally considered the last part of the Stone Age. The Neolithic followed the terminal Holocene Epipalaeolithic period. Beginning with the rise of farming, which produced the" Neolithic Revolution" and ending when metal tools became widespread in the Copper Age( chalcolithic) or Bronze Age or developing directly into the Iron Age. Depending on the geographical region. The Neolithic is a measured progression of behavioral and cultural characteristics and changes, including the use of wild and domestic crops and the use of domesticated animals. Domestication of sheep and goats reached Egypt from the Near East possibly as early as 6000 BC. Graeme Barker states"The first indisputable evidence for domestic plants and animals in the Nile valley is not until the early fifth millennium bc in northern Egypt and a thousand years later further south. In both cases as part of strategies that still relied heavily on fishing, hunting, and the gathering of wild plants" and suggests that these subsistence changes were not due to farmers migrating from the Near East but was an indigenous development, with c

4600Y.O: EXCITING C EUROPEAN PENDANT STONE AGE NEOLITHIC CORDED WARE CULTURE
NORTHERN EUROPEAN STONE AGE ARTIFACTS BY PALATINA AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEED Description Neolithic artifact is a pierced pendant/ amulet from the Corded Ware Single Grave Culture. Dating 2900-2350 bc. The Corded Ware culture. Alternately characterized as the Battle Axe culture or Single Grave culture is an enormous European archaeological horizon that begins in the late Neolithic(stone age) flourished through the copper age and finally culminates in the early bronze age, developing in various areas from 2900 BC to ca. 2350 BC. With the Yamna culture, it represents the introduction of metal into Northern Europe, and the earliest expansion of the Indo-European family of languages. It receives its name Corded Ware from its characteristic pottery, Single Grave from its burial custom, and Battle Axe from its characteristic grave offering to males, ... morea stone battle axe(which was by this time an inefficient weapon but a traditional status symbol) In the west, the distribution boundary reaches Netherland, West Germany and parts of Switzerland. In the North the Corded Ware is found in Southern Scandinavia, the countries around the Baltic and the eastern North Sea. It’s southern distribution ranges from Switzerland to the Czech Republic and includes the upper portions of the streams that flow into the Black Sea. The somewhat later Beaker culture was contemporaneous. It is succeeded by a number of bronze age cultures, among them the Unetice culture(Central Europe) ca 2300 BC, and by the Nordic Bronze Age, a culture of Scandinavia and northernmost Germany- Poland, ca 1800 BC. Considering its immense, continental expanse, it clearly represents a fusion of earlier archaeological cultures of varying degrees of relatedness, probably led by intrusive elements from the east and south. It does not represent a single monolithic entity, but rather a diffusion of technological and cultural innovations. The fact that the Globular Amphora culture similtaneously overlies much of the same area as of the Corded Ware culture proves this

5400Y.O: 10 ARTIFACTS DANISH STONE AGE NEOLITHIC FLINT PATINA! MEGALITH TOMB C
EUROPEAN STONE AGE ARTIFACTS BY PALATINA AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEED Description flint artifacts with typical working traces from a Stone Age settlement of the Funnel Beaker Culture. Most of the artifacts proved to be of a little chronological significance. Richly decorated pottery fragments with cord-handles are evidence for the later part of the"Funnel-Beaker-Culture(the TRB) 4000-2800 BC" Agriculture and animal husbandry were introduced in Denmark c. 4000 BC. Wheat and barley were grown and oxen. Sheep, goats and pigs domesticated. Large parts of the land were cultivated during the oldest peasant culture, 4000-2800 BC, and the earliest farmers were energetic builders. They constructed large assembly areas surrounded by moats and palisades like the one found near Sarup on Funen. They also built the oldest stone burial monuments, the ... moredolmens and the passage graves, many thousands of which have been preserved in Denmark. Flint mines were opened and a whole new industry emerged which specialised in the production of elegant, polished flint axes. Large numbers of offerings have been found, including clay pots, flint tools and amber ornaments, and there is evidence of human and animal sacrifices. The first metal was brought into the country from Central Europe in the shape of simple ornaments and flat axe heads made of copper. The settlement was located at the shore of a former lake. The orange patinated pieces seems likely to have been deposited in the damp place near the settlement. I guarentee absolutely for the authenticity of these artifacts.
