This is a pretty amazing survivor- a multi colored woven bag with a strap most likely used to hold coca leaves. It comes from the Nazca culture located in the dry high desert of Peru. The area has extremely low humidity accounting for the survival of numerous textiles. The bag measures 7" x 8 1/4" and is in very good condition for the age. Approximately 100 BC to 800 AD. The colors are still quite bright and the textile is flexible and sturdy. This is an adorable polychrome pottery vessel with two small lizards perched on top. Looking at you. It is from the Huari/Nazca region of Peru. Very good condition with good paint and glaze. It has smoke clouds in the glaze likely from the uneven firing. Also manganese deposits and some root markings inside. Good earthy smell when wetted inside. Authentic item with COA from Artemis Gallery, antiquities specialists, where I purchased it. It's a great little vessel and the cute little lizards just make this a great collectible and so inviting.
