ANTIQUE 19th century HISPANO MORESQUE ISLAMIC POTTERY LUSTRE ROUNDEL 6" TILE
Description This antique 19th century Hispano-Moresque Islamic pottery 6" tile. Is hand modelled in low relief with a roundel pattern of wave like designs. It has a thick off white crackle glaze and hand painted in red, blue and buff colours with a lustre finish, which is most noticeable on the blue sections. This wonderful old tile has hand scored back to help grip when mortared into place and is apparently unmarked. CONDITION It is in good antique condition. There are minor small glaze frits and nicks, small chips to the back edges and the back has some of the remains of old lime mortar still attached. This mortar is the type used in hot Mediterranean countries and has very particular washed and polished quartzite sand particles trapped in it. For auction is this beautiful pair of antique Persian pottery vases. The vases would have been made especially for the Chinese market and they have been painted and finished in the Cantonese Famille Rose design. I think the vase are possibly 19th Century or perhaps early 20th century. There are beautiful swirling lions on each vase finished in a 3-Dimensional manner which really brings the vases to life. There are further hand painted lions typical of the Qajar era. So even though the vases were made for the Chinese market, there is still the Persian Qajar influence hinted in subtle ways. Size The height of the first vase is 29.3cm = 11.5 inches. The height of the second vase is 28cm = 11 inches. One of the vases is in very good condition. Antique Persian Pottery Floral Vase Islamic Qajar C19th
A beautiful old pottery Persian or middle eastern bottle vase that I believe dates to the C19th. Circa 1880. Qajar period. It is decorated with panels of flowers in vases with vibrant coloured glazes. It has overall crazing and a some places with little glaze loss spots(see picture 5 for example i marked it in circle) There is a small scale on the top i took a picture of it on picture 3.4. The vase is dirty but I do not dare to clear it. Remarkable condition for this type of pottery and its years. Measures- high 20 cm; width about 12 cm.

This beautiful late eighteenth century vase originates from Persia. It bears a very vibrantly coloured under- and over-glaze geometric pattern with a floral motif. And it measures 3.5” 8cm) high. There is a two-crossed-swords pseudo Meissen mark on the base, as is sometimes found on pottery of this date. It is in excellent condition with no chips or repair. Just crazing and wear to the glaze, and a 1cm hairline on the top and inside of the neck. LARGE ANTIQUE ISLAMIC PERSIAN ? INDIAN POTTERY VASE, 19TH CENTURY OR EARLIER
This is a large Islamic Vase dating from at least the 19th century and possibly much earlier. Looks a good early piece this one as you will see on the photos of the underside. I thought it was Indian at first but then maybe it's persian because of the bird decoration. I'm sure that collectors of Islamic pottery will know. It's been repaired many years ago around the middle of the body. I have included photos of the inside so you can see and also the outside where you will see a line. There is a very small hole situated close to that line which you will see it on photo 9. At the top of the vase you will see a small fresh chip. Please note I have now found the missing piece since I took the photos. It's a bit worn down/ rubbed on the edge but at least the piece is now there and can be attached by somebody who knows what they ... moreare doing. There is a faint crack running from the chip that is about 2 cm below the top rim. This runs half way around the vase and is a bit loose by the chip. I suspect somebody has been lifting the vase from the top which has made it slightly fragile in that area. Excellent colours and designs and a very interesting piece of Islamic pottery. For your consideration we are offering this lovely vintage signed Persian Moroccan Islamic pottery bowl/ vase. This pottery piece has a beautiful traditional design painted onto the pottery bowl. The design appear to be hand painted. This bowl is signed on the bottom SAFI and in the characters of the native language. This is a recent find from a local estate sale. I do not know the age of this piece. It appears to have some age to it. The piece is a used vintage example of Persian Islamic Moroccan pottery. The piece has some chips on the lip of the mouth. There is also a spot on the bottom of the base where the heavier white glaze has chipped off from sliding on a surface. The design is still in good condition. The design is still bright and clear. And bears painted portraits of a man and a woman(possibly Yusuf and Zulaikha, the Islamic version of Romeo and Juliet) The two panels to the side are surrounded by foliage with birds, and the base is unglazed. Standing 10.5” 28cm) tall. This shape of vase is Chinese in influence, and this example is in good condition with only a glazed-over chip to the top rim(from manufacture) and several losses to the glaze and a shallow chip on the foot-rim, plus all-over crazing; the pottery is an off-white colour, slightly darker than usual for this type of pottery.
