29 inch 74 cm strand old antique czech islamic haj african trade beads
A strand of Czech molded beads found in Nigeria. West Africa. It is said they were made as souvenirs for those who made the pilrimage to Mecca. They were made in the early 1900's and used for the African trade. There are a total of fortry four beads. Twenty five of the beads have the stars and moon desing and the rest have Arabic writing on them. The pendant has a chip on each side but I have listed it because it has a different design on each side, which is very unusual. The beads measure in length 12 mm and in diameter 13 mm.
