The very long broad steel blade. Is straight and double edged, with a slight taper towards the tip, and a short fullar along either side. This blade is likely a European trade blade. The sword has a typical Kaskara hilt. With an silver painted iron cruxiform cross-guard, with a short langet on each side, and a flat disk pommel. The round wooden grip and pommel are wrapped in leather. This sword measures 925 mm in total length. The blade measures 790 mm in length. The sword weighs 796 grams. The condition is generally very good. Pair of Antique Islamic Indian Solid Silver Salt Cellars, Kutch?, ~1880?
This is for a pair of antique solid silver salt cellars. I'm not an expert on these things but a search of completed listings on Ebay suggest that these might have been hand made in Kutch. India, around 1880? They are beautifully intricate, with swirling repousse foliage and scrolls and stand on three pretty feet. They are 3.4cm tall, with a belly of 5cm in diameter. One weighs 32gm and the other weighs 34gm. I've just noticed that they are slightly different in design underneath but are otherwise identical. Condition: one has one small dent in the side, the other has two smaller dents in the side and one of the feet is slightly pushed inwards. Antique? Vintage Persian Islamic Pottery Vase Hand Painted Leaves 10 Inch
I have had this vase so long that I have forgotten where I bought it. I probably bought it at an estate sale. I know that it is not new. I have about thirty years of experience with antique items but I am not sure how old this vase is. I am far from being an expert when it comes to Persian or Islamic pottery. The bit of research that I have done on the net tells me that this vase is very likely Persian and Islamic. I think that it is possibly old enough to be considered antique. I leave it to the buyer to determine how old it is and exactly where and by whom it was made. It measures close to 10 inches tall. The diameter of the base is about 3 3/4 inches. It weighs close to 2 pounds 3.6 ounces. The condition is much like you see it in my photos. You can see a small chip on the inside of the ring on the bottom that forms the base. There are ... morefine cracks in the glaze that are commonly called"crazing" There are some tiny holes in the glaze from when it was fired. There is an about 3 1/2 by 4 inch area near the bottom of the vase where the glaze has a whitish/hazy appearance from when it was fired. I have provided a close-up of the two edges of one of the small handles where it looks and feels like a tiny amount of glaze is missing and the surface is darkened. Otherwise. This vase is fine and as shown. My photos should give you a good idea of its general condition. I guarantee this vase to be as described and represented by the photos.
