Gorham brought out Etruscan, a sterling pattern, in 1913, when Neo-Classical designs were at the height of their popularity. The terminus of the handle somewhat resembles an Ionic column. Etruscan was made for a long time, and remains highly collectible. Offered here is an ice cream serving knife, which takes a bit of explaining. Old ice cream was sold in blocks called bricks, which basically were shaped like a brick and about the same size. Since most people did not have freezers, the ice cream was bought at a store and ... morerushed home, put on a plate after all the melted edges were drained off and served as a brick. The brick was then cut with a device called the ice cream knife and served up. Sauces came in small sauce boats served with small ladles. Sprinkles and ground nuts could be put out in toothpick holders. During the Depression and WW2 years, faced with shrinking sales and unsold inventory, silver companies started showing and selling these knives as cake or pie servers, even though they do not work well for that purpose, as there is no bend in the handle for getting under the piece of pie or cake. Some old catalogs show these pieces with a variety of names, the better to sell the overstock. The sterling hollow handle ice cream knife with plated blade offered here measures about 10. This is not a piece of new silver. It shows the patina of as much as 100 years of much use. There are the light scratches which constitute normal patina, and heavier patina from much use. There is no monogram. Silver is softly lustrous. The pattern is crisp and clear. The blade is marked STEEL, but polishes like stilverplate; the handle is marked sterling on the haft, but the mark is almost totally effaced

Victorian Cameo Earrings Etruscan Revival Setting Later Screw Backs As jewelry findings change. Old family jewelry is often altered to make it easier for members of a new generation to wear. Victorian'c' clasps are often changed to more secure safety clasps, and pierced earrings are changed to clamp or screw backs or vice versa. I believe that the fonts of these earrings are mid Victorian. In the center are small shell cameos with the profiles of women with what looks like 17th century collars and hairstyles. They are glued on a shiny deep red surface that appears to be glass, surrounded with a plain band that looks gold filled, and surrounded with an Etruscan Revival style setting. The setting is brass with a somewhat worn gold colored finish. These were likely not expensive when new, but they are very carefully made and hang well. ... moreThe screw back findings are of a much more recent vintage. 1/20 12K. G.F. is stamped on the side- this is the standard set by the US government for fold filled items in the late 30's. The findings were cut to the same size as the hinged tops of the earrings, and soldered in place. There's a bit of greening on the pads of the findings. The earrings are 5/8 inch in diameter and 1 inch from the bottom to the top of the hinged piece. Delicate and pretty the wear on the settings gives them a nice'antiqued' look. The piece measures 2 inches or 5 cm long without the bale. It weighs 16.5 pennyweights or 25.5 grams. The hard stone cameo is of a pretty young woman. The cameo is carved from sardonic. It is deeply and expertly carved. The frame is in the Etruscan Revival style. It is all 14k yellow gold. Besides the seed pearls it has the granulated bead work and twisted identifying the Etruscan style. The Cameo can be worn either as a brooch or as a pendant on a chain. It has both a pin and a loop on the back. The condition is just as you would like to find it. It is in excellent condition. There are no solder or repairs on the gold and the cameo ... morehas no chips. The cameo is unmarked as to gold content but has been tested and it is all 14k gold. VTG-1930s-Italian Silvertone Etruscan Cross w/20" Rope Chain Siam Rhinestone N/R
This is unmarked silvertone chain and cross(does not test as sterling) It is circa 1930's-40's.it looks to me like a Peruzzi/Italian piece however. There are some differences from other Peruzzi pieces I have come across. This cross is well made but the rhinestones rhinestones are prong set and not bezel set and the cross or chain does not test as sterling, I think a Peruzzi piece would. However,this necklace is vintage(not a reproduction) and it is GORGEOUS front& back. The chain measures 20" and has a small adjusting chain at the end about 1" with a red rhinestone at the end. Collectible Czech or Etruscan Style Cuff Filagree Like Bracelet Unique vintage Czech or Estruscan style cuff bracelet. Made of brass with an overlay of silver? Appears to look like filigree, however some say the beautiful forget-me-not floral design is punched out of the brass with intricate detail. Top splits open under the flower petals to get the bracelet on and closes so you don't see the separation. The bracelet shape indicates its age with the spring mechanism to close the bracelet sitting in the centre at the bottom of the cuff. There is a scrolled etching along the sides of the bracelet adding to its beauty and notice the brass cabochons shining through the oxidized metal. Quite lovely. The top gold ball measures 5mm and suspended from this is the larger decorated section. Intricately embellished with a filligree circular wire and disc motif each lower ball measures 8mm. Howdy. PLEASE READ the WHOLE AD& THANKS for L@KING. We have here a VERY RARE& near impossible to find. VICTORIAN, MID 19th CENTURY PIN or BROOCH. This is a spectacular piece and its in outstanding condition. This has VICTORIAN, ESTRUCAN GRANULATION& GEOMETRIC DESIGNS on it. This also has a very interesting antique gem stone which is a combination of a thin slice of very light colored garnet mounted on top of a faceted piece of crystal/ glass. Making this type of gem stone was done in the mid 1850's or so according to our jeweler. The stone has a slight pink tone to it and it really flashes in bright light. This is made from SOLID 15KT YELLOW GOLD and its unmarked, which is normal. We had it tested to be sure what it was and it is AT LEAST 15k gold. This has a fantastic geometric design with extra fine granulation that graduates ... morein size. This has a great locking pin clasp only found on high quality pieces. Size is about 2' long x 3/8" wide x 7/16' deep. This is a delicate piece which is unsigned but its probably from EUROPE as 15k gold was not used here in the USA. This weighs 3.3 grams. This is far too nice to scrap and certainly too rare melt. A vintage piece. This is in OUTSTANDING CONDITION! INSPECT for flaws or damage. We did a VERY Careful VISUAL and TOUCH exam of this. Vintage Etruscan Style Red Amber Pendant w/ Sterling Sterling rope chain
Offering an Beautiful Red Amber pendant w/ sterling rope chain. The pendant consist of a rectangular Red Amber stone framed by a.835 silver leaf motif( marked on the vale) It measures approx. 2" in L and 1 1/4" across. The included Sterling Silver rope chain has an approx. 20" drop when wore as a single strand around neck. This is a continous chain( even when the clasp is unclasp it still remains one piece. Pendant is basically unremoveable without removing clasp) But because of this it may be worn single stranded( unclasped) or clasped giving the illusion of two strands. one shorter and the other a longer drop. It has a filgree box clasp that is marked Sterling. One side of chain which attaches to box clasp has some evidence of repair with wiring to keep chain attached so some repair maybe needed( like a"O" ring ... morefinding to replace wire) see pix 8) This is a truly beautiful piece as the pictures attest.
