Vintage WM. A. ROGERS Oneida Openwork Design Dish and Miniature Spoon w/Egyptian SCARAB Handle This listing is for a vintage WM. A. ROGERS Oneida tidbit or pickle dish with glass insert. It comes with a small spoon with an Eqyptian Scarab design on the handle. The glass insert in the dish has a beaded edge and is in excellent condition with no chips or scratches. It measures 3 ¾” across. The scalloped edge dish with the openwork design has wear and tarnish—see photos. It measures 5 ¼” across. I think it is make of nickel silver. But I cannot say for sure. Gorgeous 800 silver Egyptian carved scarab bracelet. This is from the 1900's and is 7 in long 1 in wide in the middle. It has 7 separate panels with the old style hinge pin clasp. The stones are resin scarabs that have been enameled with a Turquoise blue enamel. The band has hand carved and created filigree patterns that took a very long time to do. Only the very wealthy in the 1900's could afford to have jewelry like this made. And unfortunately jewelry with this amount of elaborate work is very hard to come by. Beautiful Egyptian Revival! Cool pair of antique Egyptian Revival silver plate/ gold wash cups with scarabs/ beetles on them. Large cup measures 2" tall and just over 2.5" in diameter. Smaller cup is 1.5" in both height and diameter. Both appear to be silver plate with a gold wash(that is coming off) The gold beetles look to be applied and both are very nice with Egyptian symbols on them. Ancient Egyptian Scarab Pendant Demotic Script 664-30 BC Late Period-Ptolemaic
Up for auction is an Egyptian Scarab Pendant dating to betwen approximately 664- 30 B.C. the Late Period to the Ptolemaic Period. The dating is based on the use of Detomic script on the back of the scarab. Detomic script replaced heiroglyphics and was used throughout Egypt from the Late Period through the Ptolemaic Period. It was itself replaced by Coptic. A Greek based alphabet. The scarab measures approximately 3 1/2" x 1" x 3/4" It appears to be made of wood but we are not certain. It has a hole in the center for a string or something else to hang it on. There is some chips as can be seen in the picture. I acquired the Scarab here in Boise at an auction that contained antiques and artwork from the members of the Browning family that founded the Browning Arms Company. ESTATE LIQUIDATION This item is an Egyptian Steatite Scarab encased in 14kt rose gold. I regret that I do not have any information as to its age or what the hieroglyphics on the backside mean. The rose gold border does have a maker's mark(see photo) and has been tested for 14kt gold. I was only told that it was purchased in Israel around the 1950s. It measures 7/8" by 1/2" Appears to be in excellent condition. This unusual antiquity was obtained at an Arizona estate liquidation. Vintage gold filled carved gemstones scarab cabochon bracelet contains 9 different stones set in unusual angled links. Each stone is carved as a Scarab beetle. Great Egyptian Revival bracelet dates to the 1960's. Very well made. Each carving is bezel set on an open bezel, the back of each cab is carved with an stylized hieroglyph. Each scarab cabochon measures approximately 9/16" by 7/16" at the widest point. Not including the setting. Since they are angle the bracelet is 5/8" wide. It fits a wrist up to 7" when closed. Closes with a large spring ring and is further secured by a safety chain. The little metal tag reads 1/20 12k and contains the maker's mark which is not identified. The colors are gorgeous.
