This beaded necklace which has been restrung and the Terracotta coloured beads were excavated in GUROB by Professor Flinders Petrie in 1889-1890. The"tube" type beads were stained blue. But a lot of the staining has worn off. Average length of each blue bead is 17mm. Some of the blue beads have been broken since they were restrung. The red beads look like they could well be Coral and are about 7mm long. All these beads came in a envelope with information about there history written on the front( photo 7) There is also a very small part of a letter by Flinders Petrie. The rest of the band is a floral, plant type pattern. The blue bead is dangling by a link chain between the couple and the other 2 red beads are adorned on link chains on either side. This item was hand crafted from the band to the chain links and beads for the small arm of a child. It has a bit of patina through out and will need a professional cleaning upon arrival. It doesn't have any chips. However, it looks like the large ball was some how tied to the end of the drop and you can see the string. Some of the pendants have chips while others are in perfect condition. The free standing red and white pendants as well as the red bea d don't have any problems. The black background is more eye catching but the colors are truer against the beige- the beads are a very pretty. Lively red& the brass does actually have a more subdued look than it does against the black. The multicolor rhinestone brooch has an Egyptian look to it& has 2 missing stones.
