Stamp on bottom has Simpson. Miller, Hall& Co 1875- 7- Wallingford, Conn. and a different die style stamp"L" The theme appears to be Egyptian with the emblems of a god on the feet and handle. Emboss stamps throughout lower of leaves and floral patterns Overall condition is solid intact including hinged lid. Silver under base has been scrubbed. Scraped off also bottom of feet. Otherwise silver is unpeeled undamaged. 1 paint drip lower rim on base. Typical spots inside from use. Pics are enhanced to show tarnish and imperfections. It otherwise looks dull. The typical fabrics were cotton. Linen& sometimes silk. I am not a fabric expert, but assume this is the case with this pair. 1 has some very fragile spots where what appears to be silk applique fabric is tattered. 2 is in very good antique condition. This is an old bracelet dating from the 1920s when the Howard Carter discovered King Tuts tomb and all things Egyptian became all the rage once again. The bracelet consists of 6. 2-part panels. The bottom portion of the panel is rectangle shaped with a border of raised floral medallions, some of these panels have writing on them. I believe it may be Egyptian demotic script. Atop each panel are various figures depicting Egyptian gods, pharaohs, and a sphinx. It is a stunning piece. It is in excellent vintage condition, however, I want to make you aware that on the 3rd panel from the left, one of the figures is bent inward just slightly. The gilt leafy wreaths add to the Impressiveness of these 20 inch tall ormolu wall sconces. They were stored in a box dated 1801 which is correct for the period of these rare Egyptian revival sconces. One half of a laurel wreath is no longer attached at the back. The Base's are a well veined green marble and both sticks are in impeccable condition. There are no breaks, no cracks no chips. The patina is fabulous. Most Candle sticks of this era are small. However, these stand at a great height of 20" inches tall and weight 10lbs each! They are Very well cast. There is no signature. An 1890's Art Nouveau Egyptian Revival Console Suite; consisting of a pair of candlesticks and a centerpiece bowl. The bowl can be used with or without the glass frog insert for flower arranging. The suite is cobalt blue with gold overlay typical of the period. There are flowers-vines and birds circling the rims of all three pieces. Just in today from a South F lorida estate. This is quite an interesting old necklace! It s age was apparen t b y how black it was tarnished. I gave it a light polish to brighten it up a bit. The pendan t is a fine combination of carved stone( scarab beetle mounted(the old-fash ioned way) between a pair of angel- or eagle-style sterling silver wings. With a little dangl e(tail? hangin g down. It is marked on the back of one win g: STERLING" but even more interesting are the marks carved into the BACK of the stone scarab. You can see in th e last PIC that there are a series of shapes inscribed on the back of the beetle- to me. They look like some sort of hiero gl yphs!
