Beautifully carved Celtic crypt cover piece. I found this about 5 years ago while walking one of the many non navigatable creeks around the Cape Fear river in NC on private land with permission from the land owner. I had this checked out by the archeology society and they said it was authentic. They said it was made of sandstone and dates back to the 6th century and was Celtic. The use was up to debate. One said is was a piece of a crypt cover. Another said it was a piece of a stone house marker. That would have been on the threshold of their castle or home. It is awesome.
