It has a 5” x 5” octagon base which tappers up to a height of approx. 18-1/2" Tall. On two sides of the bottle there are applied wooden strips of wood that are secured with nails that are indicators for the volume of milk consumed. Antique Wrought Iron Large Primitive Forged Ladle With Loop Handle Southeastern Pennsylvania For your Americana or Tools Collection Details Description: A nice primitive wrought iron handmade large ladle. The piece is made of wrought iron and has obviously been forged where the top part of the handle is flat and obviously hammered. The handle end in a curved thinner portion on top in the shape of a loop to hang from. The bottom portion of the handle is tube like in shape which is flattened at the end to form the bowl of the ladle. The ladle has a nice large hemispherical bowl which is attached to the handle without rivets. The entire piece is made of a single piece of iron and uses no rivets to attach the bowl to the handle. This is a great looking antique kitchen tool which seldom come by and would make a great addition to any collection. Please carefully review photos as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: Uncertain. But most likely late 1800s to early 1900s. Origin: Southeastern Pennsylvania Size: The ladle is ~17 3/4" long with the bowl being ~4 3/4" in diameter and about 1 5/8" deep. The ladle weighs about 9 ounces. Maker: Unknown. Marks: Unmarked. Distinguishing Characteristics- Most Interesting About The Piece: A nice antique wrought iron kitchen tool namely a ladle. Would make a great addition to any collection. Condition: The ladle is in good used original condition. It is intact with no breaks. Losses or repairs. It does show signs of extensive surface oxidation, but nothing to worry about. The piece also has some scratches and a small damage to the surface on the inside of the bowl. The piece also appears to have lost most of the original shiny silvery surface finish. Finally the piece has wear commensurate with its age and utilitarian function. Very old estate find: memory jug decorated with old pieces of china& glass put on a stoneware jug with morter or clay. This jug is very unique and beautiful under light. It has great age patina. It is 9 1/2" tall 17 1/2" in circumference with a 3/4" opening at the top. It is smooth with no jagged edges and the top edge appears to have small pieces of crystal rock(but I am no expert on stones) The handle is heavy and study with no missing pieces or cracks in glass. the colors are blue green black white. Primitive counrty farmhouse 4 legged plump piggy shelf sitter A close friend a close friend of mine gave me the original stuffed Piggy shelf sitter pillow of which i made quitea few before i desided to put a definate twist to it. I always wished that they didnt have to be proped up by something and thought if they could stand alone by themselves they could then be placed just about anywhere from a shelf. To part of a center peice on your dinning room table. One day i then desided to stuff its legs up into its body, sew them so they would stay, finished stuff ing the pig to make it fat,round and plump like a realistic pig. Afterwards I grabbed 4 nice looking sticks and carefully made 4 holes and inserted the sticks for legs. Now its 3dementional and stands up alone and without help. This particular pig is painted black and cream color and ... morea star painted on it aswell. It is then sanded. Stained and grubbed with cinnamon. She has peuter metal buttons for eyes. A button nose. A old metal wire curled for a tail. 4 small sticks for legs that are sewn and glued into place and her ears are also sewn into place. Some minor scuffs to wood but overall excellent antique condition The wood mount back plate. 22 1/2" long, 7 1/2" wide at top, 6 3/4" wide at bottom, 5/8" thick board. The face is in old crackled gray. There are 10 arms or drying racks. Each is 21" long and as none are broken or split. Beautiful condition. At the top is an Iron Crown which the arms slide up and through to eventually fall over the iron crown and out to hold whatever pleases you. Wash, herbs, etc The bottom has more iron to which the 10 arms are attached. This piece slides up the metal rod to meet the iron crown at the top at which point the arms fall over the top and out to hold wash. Antique Wooden Box- Tool Chest-Primitive- Original Key- Copper Corners
Up for auction is a really great primitive wooden chest/ tool box. As you can see in pictures the box does have some rough spots that just adds to the character. It has the original key. It does turn but I couldn't remove it. Didn't want to force it. The part of the lock that is on the lid is missing. The corners and edges are copper. Everything is still very sturdy The box measures 23 inches wide 12 1/2 inches deep and just over 9 inches high. I think it is probably from the late 1800's or early 1900's.The last picture is one of the coolest things about the chest. Here is an 1870s Erzgebirge Noah's Ark and matching house. As well as Noah himself and six pair of animals. Cats, dogs, cows, horses, goats, and pigs. Animals and Noah are a bit newer than the ark and house- ca. 1900-1920. Very rare to find this earliest version of Erzgebirge arks! All in good condition, though aged. For over 80 years. The Walter T. Kelley Company has been manufacturing high quality beekeeping equipment worldwide with exceptional value and legendary customer service. Mr. Kelley started his beekeeping business in Houma, Louisiana which was called Gulf Coast Apiaries, but later changed to Gulf Coast Bee Company. He supplied package bees and hives locally on a small scale. Mr. and Mrs. Kelley met while in Louisiana and in 1926 they were married. She was a splendid life partner who saw him through the tough and trying times of business and life. After Wall Street crashed in 1929, they decided that manufacturing would be more profitable, and after several years of outrageous freight rates across the Mississippi River pushed a move to Kentucky. In 1934. With little cash but a lot of perseverance, they tore down the old factory buildings and ... morereopened the business in Paducah, Kentucky as The Walter T. Kelley Company. Wanting to begin an ad campaign that would attract the attention of the consumer, Mr. Kelley decided to replace the head of a bee with his picture. In 1938, the idea of the“Bee Man” Trademark was registered. His remark was“Make a fool of yourself and people will remember you. Kelley—the Bee Man” soon became a well-known symbol in the beekeeping world and greatly contributed to the growth of the business. In 1938, a Sewing Department was added, in 1939, double boilers and extractors were added along with wired foundation, followed by capping melters in 1941. In 1944, Mr. Kelley took over publication of The Beekeepers Item, a national beekeeping magazine. In August 1946, the name was changed to Modern Beekeeping. In the late 1950s. Here I have a very pretty 1930’s French mirrored glass trinket/ jewelry box. The box is fully mirrored which makes it bright and reflective… and hard to photograph! The pictures do not do this item justice. The mirrored glass has a rose pink color. A popular color during the Art Deco period. It has floral etched decorations. All sides including lid have asymmetrical beveled edges,I have tried to photograph it in the last two pictures. The interior is wood, there is a mirror on the inside lid. The box measures 5 ¼ x 4 inches wide, 1 ¾ inches high. Condition: A few pin head size age spots mainly along the bottom edges and a fleabite chip on the corner of the lid. Americana Candle stick light Primitive look
This is a great night light or a light to put in that dark cabinet. The cord is long for hard to reach places. It measures 11/1/2 inches tall and 4 across the base. The candle stick is decorated with distressed red and white stripes and the base and top are blue with a star base and white painted stars on the top. It has a dripping candle top.
