UP FOR BID- One Pair of Alaskan Hand Made/Carved Spruce wood SNOW GOGGLES! These are carved by Richard Wisecarver and are painted with hand made RED OCHRE paint and the ties are CARIBOU hand cut thongs. I use a Hand Adze and Crooked Knife to carve my goggles from Alaskan woods. These are what we used to protect our eyes before we had polaroid glasses to protect our eyes from the bright spring sun reflecting off of the snow. Thick solid metal that I believe is insulated. There are NO dents! Showing its age and loads of character. This piece has some rust spots although it is extremely minor for the age of this piece and there are absolutely NO areas of this piece even being close to rusting through. The bottom base is hallmarked however not everything is easily read from wear. I am able to make out PENNA( APPROVED SERIAL NO. F-13. PATENTED, JUNE 12, 1928, NO. 167_845 and it also has the word LIQUID on it however I can not make out the wording before that. I do not see any other markings on this ... morepiece. The last photos show the hallmarking fairly well although I did have to alter the coloring of this piece in my photos in order to get the markings to show. Measures 9-1/4" in height with lid x 9-3/4" in diameter. It weighs just over 6 lbs 5 oz(packaging weight not included) It's a great collectible show piece& can be used for a wide variety of storage items today! 16th Century carving of a saint...possible ex William Randolph Hearst collection
Here is a wonderful early carved figure of a saint. Or religious figure, maybe a Pope? The collector I purchased this from indicatd he acquired it in Florida and it is reportedly ex collection Willaim Randolph Hearst. Probably dating from the 16th C, it might even be 15th C. Measuring just over 36" it has great character and exhibits the early craftsmans skill. It lacks its arms, as these early figures usually do.the arms were apparently movable and have long since been separated from the carving. I recently purchased some nice early candlesticks and other early brass items from a major Connecticut collector and I am this evening listing all of them on Ebay, and this rare and early carving came from this same major collection. Antique Butter Mold (Mid to late 1800s) Unusual Plunger Style
REDUCED TO SELL! This is an antique butter mold that's been in my collection for at least 30 years. It's about 6" H and 5" in dia. Decorative part is about 4" in dia. I have never done anything with it except dust it. The pattern is unusual and is floral or leaf-like and pretty deeply cut. I'm guessing it's circa mid-late 1800s. Unusual plunger style. Primitive Rustic Shabby Rusty Antique Columbia Family Scale 24 Lbs Works Great! Everything that I am listing this week is from the flea market. And from an auction that we went to. There’s lot sandlots of variety, and nifty stuff too- so I hope you enjoy! I just love me an old Columbia Family Scale! The more primitive the better- they make for wonderful displays and an extra bonus if they work- as this one does great! This is an antique 24 lbs scale. Made from steel, and with a shabby black finish that has lots of spots of wear, and surface rust that can be seen- especially on the top of the scale. The face of the scale is white with black accents, but more accurately described as dirty white- because it is. I have not tried to clean this piece in any way, and it needs a good bath- there's loooooooots of dust, dirt, debris and cobwebs- ... moreespecially on the edges of the face and base- it's been in storage for a looong time. The scale measures 6" wide by 9" deep at the base, the face is 6" diameter, the tray on the top is 5 1/2" square, and it is 8 1/4" tall. It weighs 3 1/2 lbs. I'm calling it shabby(in addition to what I have already stated) because of the wear to the finish- both the black and the white of the face have scratches, scrapes, and light surface rust where the metal is exposed. You see the most amount of surface rust on the very top- and it is surface only. The finish on the body of the scale has much less wear- and you can still see the single gold colored decorative mark in the center of the body on both sides. Be lip on the very bottom of the base curves up- more so in some spots than others so it's hard to tell if its original or not, but it's really hard to notice anyway. What else can I tell you? Oh, I am showing how it works with my rock on top, but it also has the knob on the back that does move the dial on the face to calibrate. Unusual Vintage All Metal Simonsen Tackle Box with Eagle Lock& Original Key I recently purchased this Old Simonsen Tackle Box from the original owner. I cleaned up the outside a little with some auto polish to remove some of the old oxidized paint because I wanted to display it at home before offering it up for sale and it came out very nice. The overall condition is very good. There are some noticeable dents and scratches and it could use some further detailing but all in all I would rate the overall condition at about an eight out of a possible ten. The bottom has some paint lost from moving around on a shelf over the years but there is no real rust on either the inside or out because this box was not used for fishing or even for holding fishing tackle it just had some miscellaneous household items in it when I purchased it. It is one ... moreof the nicer boxes offered for sale on eBay at this time. The most interesting thing about this box is that it has fold down section attached to the top tray that appears as if it was made to hold spinner baits or something similar. I have never seen one of these vintage Simonsen Tackle Boxes with this feature. It’s approximate outside dimensions are 14” by 8” and if is about 7 ½” tall including its hardware. The last image is of the deviders used to separate section of the trays. These can be snapped in and removed or used in various locations. Along with my detailed description I have provided close-up images to allow you to decide for yourself how you want to judge the actual condition and how much you are willing to bid.
