Huge Vintage Industrial Wooden Foundry Mold Gear Wheel 34 1/2" Early 1900's
For your consideration is this great old wooden foundry mold wheel gear that measures 34 1/2" across. This wooden foundry mold is from the early 1900's. The foundry used these molds in a sand casting process to produce the items in cast iron. The molds were made by specially skilled craftsmen. Whose precision woodworking, made perfect replicas of the cast iron piece that their customers requested. This foundry mold is a great old piece of American Industrial history, wonderful for industrial urban decor. We have other foundry molds, please check our other listings. It is painted silver, which has darkened with age, as pictured and some of the paint is missing and it is rough in places from it's use in the foundry. Overall condition is great for it's age, pictures show some of the dings in the wood, these do add to the character ... moreof the Gear. This cool old foundry mold measures 34 1/2" and is just over 6" wide. The gear weighs 47 pounds and due to it's size the most practical and affordable way to ship it is Greyhound Freight. The bar seems to be in very nice condition but is will have to be cleaned up because of the years of grim on it.here are 6 plastic turrets in nice original shape. A very nice vintage pair of ebony wood(I believe) bookends with elephants. The wood appears to be inlayed with small pieces of bone. I would think that these date to the first half of the 20th century. The base and back are dovetailed together. Condition is very nice. Each measures about 5 3/4" by 2 1/2" at the base and stands about 5" tall. Condition is pretty good. One of the elephants is missing a tusk and a piece of inlay for the eye. Both on the same side. They are being offered as found.

Someone has written on the back of the wood backing'Copyright 1885 By Muller Luch Singer' And there's some other writing beside that and I cannot make out what it says.and not sure if I spelled all of the name correctly? But, I did take a picture of the back where this is written on it. Then it looks to have written'New York. 99 C. Picture name Winter Queen Anne Cottage' The wood/wooden etched/beautifully designed frame does look OLD and looks to be from the 1800's.that's my opinion only so please be your own judge. It needs some restoration. But, has so much character and history. There are rub wear places and age related wear, etc. On the bottom back side, there's a dip/worn ... moreplace in the wood. I'm not sure, but the lighter places you see on the frame looks like maybe someone has tried to even it out with some type of filler? or? again, not sure but I took as many pictures as I could hoping you can tell more about it and the condition. Someone has added a silver metal piece on the back top for display and of course the glass doesn't look vintage. There's also a water stain or some type of stain under the glass at the top corner of the picture where the matting ends.I think you will see what I am referring to in the picture/s. VINTAGE WOOD WOODEN CARVED OLD WOMAN CARRYING BUNDLE OF LOGS (VERY UNIQUE !)
Unique carved wooden old women! There is a lot of detail in her face. You can really see her raised cheek bones. Eyebrows, eyes, and nose. She wears a scarf on her head that is tied loosely around her neck. Revealing some of her hair. Holding onto a cane with one hand while the other hand holds a rope attached to a bundle of wooden small logs that sits on top her shoulder. She wears a dress and an apron with a large pocket in the front. She has large shoes on. I have never seen anything like this before. I am not sure where she came from. Measurements: 9" tall x 3-1/2" wide x 1-1/2" deep

Giardina, with his initials and the date it was made 11-15-07. A beautiful piece of work by a very talented and well known wood carver. This would make a great gift.
