I believe this is Thomas Maddock and Sons. Which dates to the late 1800's. If anyone clues me in, I will pass it along. The smallest is marked 3/0 and measures about 3 1/2" across. The next size has an incised 1 and it measures 4 7/8" across. The large has an incised 5 and measures 8" across. The spout on the large has nicks. There's some edge roughness/wear. hunzinger carved wooden platform rocking chair
This is a hunzinger rocker. It has a tag on the bottom indicating so. It was purchased over 30 years ago at an estate sale by my mother and was never used. The tooled leather seat has wear and tear and is coming off but is mostly there, the springs are sticking out of the bottom but its still comfortable for sitting. The tooled leather back is in good condition and depicts a greek looking scene. The wooden parts are gorgeous oak and in very nice condition, no breaks or repairs to any of the wood. I think its in overall great condition. There is a break on one part of the metal rocker mecahnism, its a clean break the metal isn't warped and there are no signs of abuse i don't know how it happened it came like that but it still works and the break could easily be fixed, you can see it in the picture and I think its brass. There are no ... moreother breaks or repairs that I can find. I found similiar ones and they date to the late 1800's. I don't know for sure how old it is and I haven't seen another on exactly like it making it a very unique piece. They regularly go up for auction at Christies and sell between $1200 and $2000 so this is a steal. As you can see there is very ornate carving, it truly is a beautiful chair. Four Keyed Boxwood Flute by Bilton. Circa 1826-1856 Beautiful Collector's Flute and a Player's Delight Please Note: This is the last listing for this wonderful flute. My final price is very fair. I purchased this flute on Ebay in 2000. It was built by Richard John Bilton between 1826 and 1856. It is made of Boxwood with Ivory Mounts. It has four what I believe are Sterling Silver Square Flap Keys. The flap keys have been re-corked. But one cork on the F natural note is little loose, though it does work usually. The springs are good also. There are dents and scratches in the wood from years of play, and there is one gouge on the center section that you can see in one of the pictures. I t appears that the flute has had a professional refinishing at one time. But I cannot say for certain. All I can say is that the finish of the wood ... moreis very appealing. The wood grain is tight and lightly patterned. All of the Ivory parts appear to be original. The flute is not warped, and the joints also are tight. A new string-winding job would not improve it much, except for looks. This flute is not cracked anywhere, and I can see no signs of any repair to the body or the mounts. This flute has all the necessary identification markings. The Unicorn Head Trademark. Along with the 93 Westminster Bridge Rd address verifies that Bilton built this flute at his own workshop after he left Cramer, Florent and Key, where he received much of his early training. Each section of the flute is marked. This flute is moderately light in weight and 24 inches in length. It produces a full. Yet delicate and beautiful tone. It is good for Irish music, but could be used to play Classical and early Romantic Orchestra parts as well. These flutes are getting harder and harder to find in this condition.
