DESCRIPTION: Here is an old whirligig or weathervane in the form of a passenger airplane. It is made entirely out of wood. It has a professionally made(but rusty) display stand which is included. This thing is quite large and oddly shaped. So the shipping will probably not be cheap. AGE: This one is old. But it is one of those items that is impossible for me to tell exactly how old. My guess would be from the 1950s to the 1960s. DIMENSIONS: Wing-tip to wing-tip is 24” X 22” long X 11” tall. MATERIALS: The airplane’s outer body. Wings, and propellers are carved pine and the tailfin and inner body is plywood. ORIGINALITY: Other than the broken propeller that was repaired. This is completely original. CONDITION: It has spent some time outdoors but it is not extremely weathered. One of the propellers broke and has been glued back. The newer custom made display stand is rusty. Arrow on top is approx 23" long. And overall height is approx 28" with cross section about 17" wide. The modern screws makes me think it is not that old. Great auction find out of Conway South Carolina. Weathervane has a great deal of aging and patina. The metal showing threw is a white metal. No damage seen as far as broken off pieces or gouging. Judging by the style of the font. The hardware and the type of metal I am putting this items age at 1920's or 30's. Over all height is 42" height of rooster is 14" length of rooster is 14"Looks like rooster was painted white with some red through the tail feathers. Most of paint on face still present. Early vintage Kretzer Lightning Rod Weathervane. Rare piece with glass panel intact. See pics for better idea of condition, but I would say this is very good. The paint looks original as it has a nice patina going, but it is possible that it is a very old re-paint. Looks great nevertheless! I left the patina on the metal and glass undisturbed. Very nice, rare piece. I haven't seen one like it on eBay and I may be underpricing the starting bid, but we'll see where the auction ends up! Vintage Folk Art Weathervane (50's-60's), Dog Motif
The folks we bought our 1925 house from moved here in the late 1950's. And according to neighbors they promptly took down the original weathervane and put this one up. I don't know much about it other than it is in pretty decent shape for its age, has a dog motif, and a pretty simple folk art feel to it. I'd conservatively put the vintage on it to the late 50's, early 60's in that case.

Antique Copper PELICAN Weathervane
This auction displays an antique copper weathervane of a PELICAN. The pelican alone stands 20 1/4" tall. From the top of the head to the bottom of the webbed foot, and another inch to the bottom of the prop shaft. Widthwise, from the tip of the tail across to the end of the bill is 22 1/4" with the perch sticking out another 3/4" at the rear. The pelicans thickness is approx. 1 3/8" With the whole unit put together, it stands 37" tall. The main prop rod measures 25 1/2" long, and has an adjustment ring around it. The large copper ball measures 3 3/4" tall, and 4" wide. The small copper ball measures 2" tall, and 2 1/2" wide. The metal north& south piece measures 17 3/4" long.
