Gilded copper. I believe the supporting rod is brass. The Armadillo is the official state animal of Texas. But I don't know if this little guy came from there. On his simple wood base. He stands 7 1/4 inches tall and is 10 1/2 inches long from his snout to the end of his curving tail. He was gilded all over, but some of the gilding is worn away revealing small areas of verdigris and old copper. On the whole. This Armadillo is in pretty good shape with no dings or other damage. He also seems to have escaped being involved in target practice. The photos give a very good idea of the shape and condition of this unusual and charming Armadillo Weather Vane topper. OLD VINTAGE ENGLISH BRASS ROOSTER WEATHERVANE 51” TALL We purchased this weathervane during one of our trip to London England back in the 70’s in a Bead& Breakfast Country Side where we stayed. We think it’s made of old English Copper or Brass; the design and the Verdi color were so unique that we had to buy it! It is very hard to really guess the country of origin. But we guess in England. Since we bought it from there. We also can’t say for sure how old it is. All we know is that we have it since we bought it in 1974. Originally we had it attached on the roof of our Victorian roof but it was so high that we couldn't appreciate it. We then attached it on the garage roof. There it look magnificent! The display was just breath taking. It is impossible to count how many compliments or conversations it had in all these years. When we ... moremoved to Woodstock NY. We first replaced the black pole with new one and then we temporarily planted it in the middle of our circular driveway, with the thought of putting it again on our roof; but the display was again so beautiful that we left there for years. Small measures about 3" across at the widest point and about 3 1/2" tall. No cracks and no chips. But it does have a ding or nick or 2 on the end caps. Some discoloring due to being outside I think. I do not know how old this is. Needs a better cleaning. I think it is pear shaped. Weighs about 5 ounces so looking at 1.5 pounds to ship safely. Folks the globe will need to be cleaned better. All we did was to rinse it out. Water spots are free. No pictures were enhanced but some were enlarged. Straight off a Beverly Hills. CA pool house is this 23.5 kt. gold leafed goose weathervane! Owners paid 9k. Measurements are a 3' wingspan and over 2' long. Comes with the original gold leafed directionals. No pole or mount included. Weathervane is in good shape but has been outside for many years. Since around the 70's at least. Has natural verdigris. Antique Mid 19th Century Gold Gilt Flag Pole Topper Or Weathervane Eagle Finial
This is a mid 19th century gold gilt flagpole topper or weathervane Eagle finial. I don't know exactly how old it is. But I'm sensing 1850s to 1860s. The wingspan of the eagle is 10 7/8 inches wide(27.6 cm) The height of the entire piece when attached to the hollow ball is 9 1/2 inches(24.1 cm) The height of the piece without the hollow ball but with the nail is 9 inches(22.9 cm) The eagle part with the small attached ball but without the nail is 5 3/4 inches tall(14.6 cm) The hollow ball measures 4 inches wide and 3 3/4 inches tall(10.2 cm x 9.5 cm) I'm convinced this is real gold gilding. But like my shipping description says. If I'm wrong, I'll pay both sides of the shipping to return it. I believe the Eagle is made of solid lead or something similar to that. The ball is fairly light and hollow and probably made of ... moretin. It looks like the tip of the Eagle's nose is damaged. This may just be missing gold. But I do believe something happened there(please see photos) There is very little gold left on the back of the Eagle. The Eagle doesn't stay securely in the hollow ball. It just sits there. The Eagle and nail part weighs 1 lb. 10 oz. 736 g) The hollow ball alone weighs 3.7 ounces(106 g) I have a feeling this is a pretty rare piece.

I personally knew the blacksmith who hand wrought this steel weather vane and it’s been a wind directional indicator in my yard for 15 + years. The same blacksmith also fabricator the yard mount tube from steel piping and it measures 183” 15’ overall height when assembled. The steel pipe measures 129” long and the weather vane measures 54” tall. I have procrastinated hard over selling this item but my spouse and I have to downsize into a smaller house. The weather vane assembly shows weathered age patina and needless to say the ground supports has to stay in the ground and are not included in the auction. ITEM: Rare Vtg or Antique Mini Table Top Weathervane. Brass and Copper 12” DESCRIPTION: This neat piece was found at a farm estate sale in mid-Michigan. I am not sure of its age. It is a miniature version of a horse weathervane. To be used as a table top decoration. It stands just under 12” tall. The horse is about 7-3/4” wide and the base is 4-1/4” wide. It appears to be made of brass and copper. There are five pieces: The horse top, the round copper ball, the North/South, the East/West and the base. When put together, the pieces spin around. CONDITION: The brass has some tarnishing and there are some little dings in the horse here and there. The detail on the eye of the horse is clearer on one side than the other. The round copper ball is in great shape with only one tiny little ding that's hardly noticeable. There is some dark staining ... moreon the base. There are some areas where it looks like some pieces may have been re-soldered. But I'm not sure– it's possible this is original. Not magnetic and lightweight enough that I suspect it's aluminum, painted weathervane rooster with the front part of his arrow broken off. Very nice rooster, which could probably be removed from the rest of the arrow and become an interesting item all by himself. Great piece of yard art even as it is. Certainly a conversation piece. Rooster itself is about 7 inches tall from the arrow to the top of its head and about 6" at its widest part. It's about 1/4" thick. entire piece is a little over 12" long. Absolutely charming antique/vintage primitive stable sign. Found this in the Indiana Amish Mennonite area. Vintage homemade sign from two old horseshoes and an antique tin weathervane horse. Mounted on a 28" by 23' old walnut board. This probably hung over the horse area on a primitive farm. Some minor separation of the weathervane horse halves but in no way deters from the charm of the sign. Antique Victorian Lightning Rod Weathervane W/ Rare "G" Crown Point Farm Barn
Here we have for sale a lightning rod finial that has a very rare crown point with letter"G" Rod portion is made of copper. Lightning rod portion is 13.75" in length. Has some green patina throughout the whole piece. The rod has some black paint it looks like? Tip is a brass( at least I think it's brass& not copper? it has. 11 point crown point with a letter"G" in the center. I've been told this a rather tough tip to find. This particular crown point is bigger than any other I've seen. Nor have I ever seen it with this letter inside of it. It also has a connector adapter that slides up/down the rod as shown in the pics it can be removed.
