Japanese WWll Naval kamikaze pilot, submarine crew's sword wakizashi in mounting
This is a Japanese WWll Naval kamikaze pilot or submarine crew's sword in mountings. The blade is unsigned. Shinogi-zukuri shape. Edo period ca.1700 era made old family wakizashi blade. The blade is in old polish, shows light staines but no rust and in good condition. There is no nick, no crack temper and cutting edge is sharp. The temper line is wavy gunome-choji temper throughout the blade and has deep temper at the point. Forging grain is itame-hada. No forging flaws at all. The scabbard is black leather covered wood scabbard, no cut, no crack, no bend and in good condition. The handle is tight fit with copper fuchi/kashira, tsuka-ito wrapping is no cut. No loose and in good condition. Tsuba is marugata shape iron tsuba with nice patina. It measures 21+1/4" cutting edge. 1+1/8" width, 6 mm thickness at the notch and 32" ... morein mountings. This is a Japanese sword wakizashi in mountings. The blade is signed"Ienaga 家長" Shinogi-zukuri shape. Muromachi period ca. 1550 era made blade. The blade is in old polish, shows fine scratches but in good condition. The temper line is chu-suguha temper pattern throughout the blade and has turn back temper at the point. The forging grain is itame-hada, shows coarse forging but no forging flaws. The scabbard is lacquered wood scabbard. Shows minor lacquer loss but no dent, no crack and in good condition. Handle is tight fit, handle wrapping is no cut, no loose also in good condition. Tsuba is marugata iron tsuba with nice patina. It measures 19+1/2" cutting edge, 1+1/16" width, 5 mm thickness at the notch and 31+1/2" in mountings. Shipping is $15 priority in U.S. Payment dues within 3 days auction end.

VERY NICE JAPANESE SAMURAI WAKIZASHI SWORD SHINTO
This is a beautiful example of an old Japanese Samurai Wakizashi Sword that dates from the Shinto Period. It is mounted with an unokobizukuri type blade that wears a cutting edge of 15 inches and from tip to tip measures 20 1/8 inches. The blade has survived in very nice polished condition with just some minor surface blemishes and some small openings on one side. The uncut. Unsigned tang wears two holes. The Wakizashi is mounted with a magnificent old iron tsuba along with a pair of fabulous crab menuki and is wonderfully accentuated with a crane kashira. WWII Japanese Sword Vet Bring Back Wakizashi Blade Signed Both Sides Tang Old
Here is a WWII vet bring back wakizashi samurai sword. This is a very old sword and is traditionally made. It needs a polish as it has seen some abuse over the years. But I think it is a worthy candidate worth preserving. The blade is signed on both sides of the tang. One side must be a title of some sort, which is normally a good sign for quality. The cutting edge on this measures 19 1/8" and it is still very sharp. I see no bad nicks or breaks in the blade or edge. Interesting old sword, fresh out of an estate.

WW2 Japanese Gauranteed Original Late War Shin Gunto Wakizashi Hizzen Sword
This is a Guaranteed Original WW2 Japanese late war Shin Gunto. I was told that it has a 350 year old Hizzen made Wakisashi blade made by Yoshi Shige. I received this information from a William Kerwin who is a member of the Japanese Sword Society of USA. I usually collect WW2 Japanese swords and know a enough to guarantee that this sword has WW2 fittings and I am relying on the above expert and another local Japanese sword collector who agrees that the sword is a 350 sword. Wakisashi length made in the district of Hizzen Japan. Both gave me there opinion without any prompting from me. The sword has a nice wavy temperline. The scabbard has a water proofing coating that shows some shrinkage and chips and a rare cupped washer. End of the war production; a functional weapon, for somebody with little or no money, who wanted to help defend the homeland. Perhaps something hurriedly put together with the anticipation of an allied invasion. This is an interesting piece of WWII memorabilia, not something for the collector of samurai art.
