Japan Fuchi-Kashira Tsuba Sword Parts w Gold Decoration / Edo no Yanagawa
I have here old Japan Samurai sword parts found in an old Leavenworth Kansas estate. These parts from doing a little research are called Fuchi-Kashira. When found these parts had an old paper label attached marked. Maker: Edo noYanagawa Age: 150 Old. This estate had incredible items and some had been researched and I think this is the case with these sword parts. These sword parts are probably bronze finished copper and highly decorated with mixed metals including what I am sure is gold which is white and yellow gold. I took several pics to show the workmanship and quality of these pieces. The butt end piece measures 5/8" wide, 1 3/8" long and just a little over 1/9" front to back. There is a sleeve inside one side that is copper and gold. The opening that the sword blade goes through measures 1 1/8" long and a little ... moreover 1/4" wide and is tapered.
