Georgian Mahogany Tea Caddy of Sarcophagus Form This is a beautiful Georgian Tea Caddy measuring 8 inches in length. 5 inches in width and the height is 5 inches. It is of sarcophagus form. Made of mahogany with the uppermost part having silver plated rectangular decoration with embossed posy of flowers surrounded by wooded gadroon decoration. The interior is divided into two parts and lined in green leather as is the bottom of the base. The two wooden lids to the compartments fit nice and snug. Condition: The box itself is in good condition with the exception of surface scratches consistent with age. It is lacking the escutchion and there is a small gap between the lid and the base which I believe is to do with the locking mechanism. Please see photo's to access condition.

Antique Enamel Cloisenne Smoking Set ~ Tea Caddy ~ Lrg. Master Container
This auction is for an antique Chinese Cloisenne smoking set. The complete set fits into a large master container. There are two covered containers that could also be used for tea jars/ caddy. This set has been packed away for many years and almost forgotten about. What a great treasure from the past. It's in wonderful condition for it's age with some minor flaws. I have taken pictures of any I have found. The large container measures approx. 7 1/2" tall with the Foo Dog handle on the lid. It is approx. 5 3/4" wide. I see no damage on the bottom and 3 small areas on the lid. There is a slight indentation near the dog. Enameled inside and out and on the bottom. The small container measures 3 1/8" tall x 3" It has a couple of small dings on the rim of the lid. The dish is 3 3/4" and is in very nice condition ... morewith one tiny ding on the underside rim. The match box safe has one ding. The heavy metal has not been polished or cleaned. The patina is natural. It seems like heavy brass or copper, maybe bronze. The set is heavy. The floral design is beautiful with blue, green and red mostly. I've not found another with the large master and so complete. 19th Century Chinese Export Tea CADDY~with orig. container. TRULY BEAUTIFUL
This is a very RARE& UNIQUE Footed Tea Caddy Beautiful hand painted gold scrollwork& original brass hardware. There are a total of 54 decorated"windows" surrounding the entire box and each side of the caddy is adorned with the original hand wrought brass corners. With similiar scroll work as the hand painted gold. On either side are brass hooks that holds the lid up. To create the feeling of a temple. Original pewter water container has both lid and breather cover but the piece that goes underneath the slotted lid is missing. This caddy is in INCREDIBLE shape for its age. The previous owner said this was brought over by her Grandparents in the 20's and cherished behind glass in a curio cabinet ever since. Without the lid it stands 4 1/2h WITH the lid positioned as a temple its 5 1/2 to 6" depending on how you position ... moreit 5 3/4"L& 3"W The lid does have more wear than the rest of the piece. The hardware on the top that covers the holes has found another home elsewhere and the tiny nails that hold the two sides of the lid together are loose but still intact. Please see pics! Also. The Jar is part of a large group of similar examples up for auction. If you wanted to have a look at my other items. The Jar and Lid are finely and intricately inlaid with silver wire which is then filled in with cloisonne enamel. The Jar and Lid have beautiful and vibrant cloisonne enamel colors througho ut. Along with great Floral designs to the Jar and a lovely Butterfly on the lid. The Jar shows some wear, but is overall in fine original condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The Pot even retains it's original inner lid which I am sure is almost always missing. The Pot makes a very nice display and is quite practical for use measuring 4-1/4 inches tall by 3-1/2 inches wide. I have not seen a complete Tea Caddy like this before, being I am sure a rare find. A really delightful and scarce late 18th century tea caddy box with a sliding lid. For reference the width of this lovely little box is of good size at 2.5 inches and the height 3.375 inches including knop handle. It is stamped with the KIEL town mark as well as other marks underneath.It also is engraved lightly DB 1771. Original Georgian Tea Caddy. Constructed of well chosen mahogany veneers with boxwood stringing and escutcheon. Wonderful colour and patina. Original lock but no key. Hinges good. There is a crack in the veneer top left rear but this is due simply to age shrinking of the thick veneer. 2cm of boxwood stringing absent left lower rear corner. A N EARLY 19th CENTURY REGENCY MAHOGANY TEA CADDY-TO RESTORE Offered fo r sale is this very attractively shaped early 19th century Regency(possibly Georgian) mahogany veneered two compartment tea caddy with satinwood edging. Having the origi nal brass claw feet. And decorative brass carrying handles. This caddy is offered for restoration as it needs a little time to b ring it back to its form er glory. As it was once a quality caddy. Internally there are two compartments(for brown and green tea) with the original mahogany lids having bone knobs. The caddy has it's original brass stop hinges and lock which is in working order with a key provided. But the lock keeper o n the lid edge needs replacing. The internal condition is a little distressed as the original lining has go ne and the bone handles to the lids are missing th ei r tops. ... morePlease see photographs for overall condition. The condition of the caddy is reasonable for its age but would ben efit some restoration work; if the external was sanded down. Re-stained and polished it would look great.
