This is a nice antique Chinese pewter tea caddie with 5 painted glass panels. Measures 4" in diameter and 7" tall. This item is heavy for it's size weighting 2 lbs.10 1/4 oz. Please see pics. There's a small dent on the top of the lid. 2 of the painted glass panels have some fading. The tea caddie was used and has some surface scratches. There are no chips or cracks in the glass panels.

This is a fine example of an English Sheffield Bisquit Box or Tea Caddy Made by MW&W Marples Wingfield and Wilkins 1908-1939 They ceased electroplating in 1940 and changed their name to Marples& Co. Tea Caddy with Holly Berries
This lovely tea caddy or sugar with brown background and white holly leaves and berries measures 4 7/8 inches in overall height. 5 ¾ inches across from the edge of one handle to the other, and 2 7/8 inches from front to back. The initials A T are on the bottom. This is believed to be a Wheildon piece. However, I am not certain on that, nor do I have any information on the age. It has not been(and does not need to be) glued. It measures 3-1/4 inches wide, 1-3/8 inches thick and 5 inches high without top. With the top it measures it is 5-7/8 inches tall. Antique Indian Solid Silver Novelty Barrel Shape Raised Relief& Engrave Decorated Tea Caddy c. 1890 This Antique Tea Caddy or Tea Box measures approximately 3 inches or 7 7 mm across the widest part of its central body from side to side and it stands 4 1/8 inches or 104 mm tall to the top of the finial or handle on its lid. The tea caddy is hand made from 147.8 grams of solid silver in the novelty form of a coopered barrel that has a slightly domed push fitting circular lid. The outer rim of the lid overhangs the body and it has a step decorated center with a ball shaped finial or handle on the top for ease of opening. The outer body of the barrel has engrave decorated strap s that segregate the body into eighteen shaped panels of which nine of them have an alternate plannished or hammered decoration and the other nine panels along with ... morethe lid have been wonderfully hand embossed or raised relief and engrave decorated with Indian village scenes. The tea caddy or box has Not been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram and the underside of the body has been engraved with what I presume is an Indian silversmith or makers mark V75 all as photographed below, although I have been unable to find any silver marks as is very typical with these antique Indian silver items the tea caddy or tea box has been tested and it is guaranteed as being made from solid silver. I estimate that this novelty shape tea caddy was made circa 1880- 1900. The condition is used and Excellent for its age. The tea caddy has No Large Dents. No Holes, No Splits, No Cracks and No Repairs that I can find, the tea caddy stands straight, the definition and decoration is very crisp, the lid opens and closes tightly with ease although as the tea caddy is a used antique it does have some small shallow dents around its body and lid rim that are hardly worth mentioning along with the obvious signs that it was hand made and it has some extremely minor surface marks and wear from use, it has the patina of age that is to be expected a

Antique 1700s ENGLISH WALNUT Wooden Chest DOME Top TEA CADDY Flame Smoke Grain
Tea in early 18 Century was expensive and was drunk in the famous pleasure gardens in London and the very Wealthy of the Colonies. Early tea caddies were small and made in precious materials. All caddies carried locks on them and it was typical in the 18 th century for the lady of the house to keep the caddy key on her chatelaine around her waist. This meant the servant and butler of the house would not be tempted to try such a precious commodity. Tea caddies by 1780 began to be made in walnut. Mahogany and were often Satinwood cross banded. They began to become larger from 1784 when the hated tea tax was removed. An emergent middle class could start to take tea for the first time as the average price of tea dropped by three shilling a pound. Nice vintage Ming tea tin. This is a square metal and card board canister which contains some loose Darjeeling tea. The item has no bar code and we are listing many boxes of teas from the 1920s/1930s era. I believe this box of tea is f rom the 19 50 s/1960s era but am basing that on the lack of a bar code and the other teas we received with this lot. The box has some shelf wear as shown bu t is in very good condition for its age. We are selling this as a collectible item only and not for consumption. A fine example of hand painting famille rose flower panels, with raised leaf and"net pattern" banding. This is a direct copy/imitation of the Chinese oriental famille rose 18thc pieces. SCROLL DOWN FOR PICTURES(22 pictures attached below) This auction is for a lovely antique Chinese porcelain lidded jar- possibly a tea caddy. Made in the Qing Dynasty in the 1700's or first half of the 1800's. Marked on the base as shown. Very nicely decorated in blue and white flowers. About 4 3/4 inches tall. About 257 grams. Excellent condition as shown. No chips, no cracks, no repairs. NOTE. Pictures taken in sun and shade- please look at all the pictures below. Mrs. Mary Morrison. Was a collector, former museum curator and lecturer on Asian art at the University of British Columbia, Canada. She also played an important role in creating the Canadian Society for Asian Arts which got its start in Vancouver in 1968. Over her lifetime, she collected a fabulous collection of Chinese antiques, mostly snuff bottles, and porcelain. STUNNING VERY RARE This is an absolutely fabulous and substantial ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN solid sterling silver tea caddy which was made in London. England in 1904, by the famous Victorian silversmith, Sebastian Henry Garrard of R. S. Garrard& Company at their Haymarket workshops. It has a gorgeous tapered cylindrical shape with gorgeous and deep embossed floral and foliate decoration to the sides. It is NOT engraved. This wonderful piece measures almost 3" in diameter and stands 4" high. It is of very thick gauge silver. Very high quality and is VERY substantial- it weighs 182.0 grams- well over 5 3/4 troy oz. It is in very good condition with less than the usual surface scratching. A few dings and dents but NO splits ... moreor repairs- SUPERB. The push fit lid still fits well with a twist. It is hallmarked to the base with S.G, anchor, lion passant(sterling silver assay mark) d showing that it was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1904. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. The lid is also hallmarked lion passant, d. A really rare Edwardian tea caddy from illustrious silversmiths in superb condition after virtually 110 years! This is a very rare piece indeed! English sterling silver tea caddy scoop or spoon made in 1812 by Joseph Willmore of Birmingham. The scoop has a raised, openwork edge along the bowl and a scooped-back handle. The handle is engraved with bright cut designs and a monogram of the letter H at the tip. The bowl is also engraved with design. The back of the piece is marked with the anchor for Birmingham. The lion passant for sterling silver, a duty mark of King George IIIs head, a date letter O for the year 1812 and a makers mark for Joseph Willmore. This piece is in good condition for its old age. This auction is for(1) antique hinged lid Tea caddy- hallmarked EPBM; electroplated Britannia metal" This would be a pewter type alloy that has been electroplated with silver. A construction typical from about 1846 through the early 1900's. The size is about 5" to the top of the Finial and the sides are about 4" wide. The Finial piece is bent at an angle of about 10 to 15% from true and it is loose. It has been secured with a wing nut on the interior(an odd repair) No defining makers marks that I could find on this- but a really pretty piece. I believe that it was acquired between 1890 and 1910. It needs some TLC. But it faces up very nicely and it has some elaborate press work. No dents or serious issues. Some discoloration and scratches, as pictured. This old canister is clean inside and has some surface only rust on the outside bottom- there are no dents. The word tea and the leaves are hand painted. I don't know if the painting is original. But it looks very old- see photos. I have not cleaned this- it is as found. It measures 5 1/2" tall by 5 1/4" wide. Please see the other items I have listed. You are bidding on an antique. Walnut or rosewood, wood/wooden, casket/sarcophagus, tea caddy/box with its original, working key. The caddy measures 4 3/4" x 8 3/8" x 4 3/8" high. It has two, interior compartments, as shown, and 4, matching, bun feet. It has a crack in the top that is most visible from the inside, as seen in my last photo, and someone has done a messy glue job on one of the compartment knobs. This being said, it remains a very collectible piece, displaying wonderful grain and warm patina. The double, rear hinges are fine and secure. Please email with any questions. Thorvald Marthinsen Tea Caddy Spoon, Valdres, Norwegian
Very nice spoon with just a few minor tiny scratches. Markings attribute this to Thorvald Marthinsen from Tonsberg in the“Valdres” pattern. I think it is a tea caddy spoon but maybe its for jelly or whatever. Marking of“830S” denotes silver content as a little below sterling which is 925. I also think this is an antique spoon but not positive. It measures 4 1/8” long and weighs 16 grams.

Tea merchants of Newcastle and the Maling pottery began in 1928. Ringtons sold their tea door to door and decided that it would help promote their product by introducing an advertising gimmick, selling tea packaged in a caddy potted by Maling. When. The following year, 1929, saw the opening of the North East Coast Exhibition, a symbol of pride and of the industrial success of the region, Maling produced hexagonal tea caddies for Ringtons, with pictorials of historic landmarks of the area. This caddy. Underglazed transfer printed in blue and white, features images of The Castle. Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Alnwick Castle(location for Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films) Bamburgh Castle. Warkworth Castle. Brancepeth ... moreCastle and Durham Castle. The lid shows the grand entrance to the Exhibition. The underside of the lid bears the Registration number for 1929 below the City Coat of arms. The base of the tea caddy portrays the offices and warehouses of the Ringtons Tea Company. Standing a tad under 6" in height. The caddy is free of any damage and in good order, the lid having a couple of manufacturing flaws often found on these items.
