Antique Sterling Silver GORHAM Coffee Pot 2 3/4 pints
Gorgeous solid sterling silver coffee pot from Gorham. Pattern unknown. This antique pot is approximately 8 1/2" tall and holds 2 3/4 pints. Beautifully simple decorations with ivory reinforcements on the handle. Fully marked with old Gorham hallmarks. Sterling, A6851, 2 3/4 pint, an arrow stamp for the date of 1909? and an F3. The lid is stamped with sterling 3F and the handle is stamped with 3F also. Please do research on Gorham hallmarks for more information on the date, etc. In great condition for its age with two small, minor dings on the handle as shown in photo 2, a couple of very small dimples on the body bowl side by the spout as I tried to show in photo 3, monogrammed as shown in photo 1. This beautiful coffee pot weighs approximately 653 grams of sterling silver. A lovely, important piece of old sterling silver from Gorham.

The well regarded Newburyport. Massachusetts firm dates back to William Moulton born 1664. The first in a long line of Towle silversmiths. Towle and Jones 1857. The firm adopted its distnctive T faming standing lion mark c1890. The very same mark on this elegant caddy. As noted bombe form. The most desired of all tea caddy shapes. The upper centre with raised fruit and floral vine frame medallion. Flanked by shell and vine cap fluted and raised floral legs. Culminating in thin panel scroll cap and tip feet. Fully hallmarked for 1933. This is a very interesting and historic aviation tray celebrating the world record flight in 1933 by Jim Mollison from Britain to Brazil. This was done in partnership with Charles C Wakefield. 1st Viscount Wakefield, who was the founder of the company and now world famous brand of Castrol. The tray is engraved'Celebrating The Record Breaking Achievements of CHARLES C. WAKEFIELD In Support Of JIM MOLLISON'S Britain To Brazil Air Speed Adventure HOTEL RITZ. PARIS. The tray has a chased image of Jim Mollison's airplane flying in the clouds above'Angleterre- Bresil en un temps record Aere traverse Est-Ouest Atlantique Sud seul bord ... morepar Jim Mollison avec Castrol' There is then the logo of the world and CASTROL below it. The bottom of the tray has the shield of Castrol and'Aeroplane Support Founded 1889. 50 years of progress' The tray itself is square in shape with rounded corners and sightly curved sides. The tray has a raised border with chased decoration around the rim and to the four corners. The tray is large- it is 14 inches/ 356 mm x 14 inches/ 356 mm and it stands 3/4 inches/ 20 mm high. Made of thick gauge silver. It weighs 1,570 grams. The tray has clear hallmarks- lion passant. Anchor for Birmingham, letter H for 1933 and maker's mark AC for Alexander Clarke. Delicate design on handles front and back. The left tine on one has a hard back substance which I did not attempt to remove. The other fork is about 5 3/4 inches long. Elaborate design on handle, front and back. MWP" monogram at top of handle. Reverse of the handle at top is engraved"1901" Bottom of handle is marked"Sterling" silver mark/ and"Patent 1897" The handle seems to be askew near the base, and the left tine is bent. Again, I did not attempt to clean or otherwise alter the spoon.

LOUIS XV- WHITING STERLING SILVER TABLE SPOON, 5 available - GB monogramed
Please take a close look at this set of five Gorham Whiting Sterling Silver Tablespoons. The bowls of these spoons are large enough to use them as serving spoons. This is a beautiful Louis XV pattern. On the back they have the hallmark and say Sterling Pat. 1891. These five tablespoons are in great condition to be over 100 years old and I have polished them. They have small scratches in the finish. Probably from years of being polished, but do not have any black spots. The picture makes the handles look curved, but they are not. The handles are straight with well detailed designs. These are all monogrammed with GB(I am certain of the B, but not as certain of the G. The price is for ONE spoon but there are four available. Up for bids is a Sterling Silver tablespoon(7" in the Buttercup pattern made by Gorham. It is marked with the Gorham lion. Anchor and G, PAT. 1899 and Sterling. This spoon has been used but is in very good condition with a slight flat spot on the end of the bowl and some light scratches which could be buffed or polished out. It is engraved on the front with 1903 on the handle, and S S Class(Sunday School? in the bowl. I have shown it on the scale which is set for Troy oz and it weighs 1.19 oz. Up for bids are 3 Sterling Silver teaspoons(5 7/8" in a floral pattern made by Gorham. They are marked with the Gorham lion. Anchor and MERMOD, JACCARD& KING(the retail outlet I think) and Sterling. Each bowl also has a T on the back which I think is a date letter. These spoons are pretty damaged in the bowls, so I imagine they will sell for the scrap value unless someone really wants to fix and use them. They are monogrammed with a P.
