They have identical coloring. But since each was hand painted they are different, except for the'Lizards attacking the Spider' theme of the vases. Antique Japanese Signed Satsuma Seven Gods of Fortune Lucky Figurine Set 5
This is an incredible set of five of the seven Japanese Gods of Fortune. They are all about 3.5" tall. Each is signed. It appears as though all are from the same set except for Jurōjin. Who appears to have a different signature. I believe the set was made between 1900-1930(with Jurōjin perhaps being made later than the rest) though I cannot be sure. The set is overall in good condition. Ebisu is missing his pole and Hotei has a small age crack on the bottom. Otherwise, the set is in good condition. When you feel inside, even with its thin, delicate neck, you can feel that the vase was hand formed. Antique Satsuma Hexagonal Vase Matte Black 1000 Faces 7 1/4 inches Marked
I purchased this Satsuma vase at an estate sale where there were other old oriental items. I think the general design is frequently called 1000 faces. It measures close to 7 1/4 inches tall. It weighs about 1 pound 4.1 ounces. I am not an Oriental pottery expert but I believe that this vase is old enough to be considered antique. I do not know its precise age. The condition is much like you see it in the photos. There is a chip that you can easily see. There are no cracks. The gold gilt shows some light to moderate wear. It looks like most of the gold part of the mark on the bottom has worn off. The unglazed circle of the bottom appears to be soiled. The black background has some hazy white discoloration that you can get an idea from my photos. There are a couple of small spots on one panel where the black glaze has apparently missed. I believe ... morethat the white crackle glaze is normal for Satsuma. Otherwise. It is generally fine and as shown. My photos should give you a good idea of its general condition. Hello. Here is a wonderful Satsuma beaded elephant from Japan. This is a ashtray and cig holder on each side. It is 5 1/4" tall, 7" long and 4 1/2" wide. It is hand painted in browns, orange, green touches and gold accents. The ashtray is peach luster and the interior of the cig holders are gloss white porcelain. The trunk is up for luck and it is a very detailed piece. The camera flash glared out the nice detail of the ear. The back footed is stamped, didn't show well in photo. Greem wreath and M reads: hand painted. This piece was done in the 1920's- 1930's. Great piece for a collector.

The expert reports this to be from Japan and not China. Dragon imagery carries throughout the piece. Including a finial"handle" on the lid. Approximate measurements: 7.5" across handle to handle x 6.75" H. Condition: Good. I do see some wear in the gold trim. Especially on the finial head. Hand painted polychrome enamels depict a colorful pheasant amongst the branches of a Japanese maple tree. The imagery wraps completely around this exterior of this wonderful bowl as well. With scores of individual maple leaves in subtle shades of red and gold. The images are further highlighted by detailed giltwork. A pretty little Japanese miniature teapot decorated in the Satsuma style with Moriage touches too. I believe this is an antique. But it may be vintage. Very high quality work with loads of fine detail: flowers, foliage, butterflies and a diamond band around the neck. Lots of gold gilding too. This is a mini cabinet piece that stands about four inches tall and is about four inches wide. The lid is perfectly matched. All of the gold work is rich and in perfect condition. This teapot is about the size of a small tea cup. In perfect, mint condition. The base color and clay are creamy white. Shows no signs of use or wear. Large Satsuma Egg with Peacock Gold Elegant Beautiful
More knowledgeable people than we have told us this lovely Japanese decorated collector’s egg is a reproduction/copy. In other words, still hand painted and decorated with a Moriage finish, and still quite valuable, though not made by any of the original creators of Satsuma art products which also run a lot higher in value. The egg is in excellent condition, no cracks or scratches, it has a very, very slight crazing, which I understand is actually normal for this type of art. The egg is 8 1/2" tall x 5 1/2" wide in the middle. It sits on a wooden base. We tried to take pictures of it under several lighting situations because the gold tends to reflect. Satsuma Kyoto Ware Taisho Period Deco Japonica Signed Art Pottery 12" Vase I just purchased this vintage Satsuma vase from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The vase is characteristic of the fine hand painted wares produced in Kyoto during the early 1900's(I suspect this dates to the Taisho period. 1912-1926) The vase has a striking design with a central band of flower blossoms surrounded by a scrolled leaf and vine design and fine slip bead covered ground. The floral band is flanked by panels traced in fine gold enamel which repeats around the top rim. The remaining ground is painted with flowing rays of color with feathered highlights and more gold enamel horizontal stripes. The piece has a nice presence measuring 12' high and 6" in diameter. The base has a red artist mark which is partially covered with a black"directional" ... moremark. The vase is in very good condition with no damage or restoration and only light wear to the finish. This richly decorated handled form would make a nice addition to any collection of vintage Kyoto Satsuma ceramics or Japonica inspired Art Deco décor. International bidders. This is a gorgeous 9.5" tall Japanese vase. The art on this piece is absolutely stunning. One side depicts a woman and two children. And the other shows an iris. Uniquely, the"handles" are roosters. The piece is signed. It was likely produced between 1880-1910, squarely within the Meiji Era(1868-1912) The vase has no chips, cracks, or repairs, only minor paint wear and crazing characteristic of Satsuma. The roosters were molded roughly-do not mistake this for damage. The edges on the roosters are rough for that reason, not because of damage. It has food dog handles with porcelain rings, small mouth and foot. It is lavishly decorated all in hand painting, with colors under gold gilt accents. One side features a waterfront temple scene with large forefront branches of abundant cherry blossoms. The other side shows birds amongst cherry blossoms and peonies. Size in inches: 7 3/8 tall x 5.5 long x 2.25 deep. Condition: Very fine crazing throughout w/pale discoloration. No chips. Cracks, breaks, or repairs. Some scattered gilt losses, viewed in photos.
