Here's a beautiful. 19th century redware pitcher in very good condition! Thick, rugged, and heavy, this piece has an ovoid shape with a wide midsection. ... moreIt has a gorgeous blend of colors including mustard, brown, and greens. The glaze& oxides were somehow applied in a manner where it didn't adhear in certain places and other parts were not glazed at all, including the bottom. In other areas the glaze is drizzled or running downward. When fired, interesting characteristics were created including mottling and a speckled effect. The unglazed red portions have an original, grungy patina that's the result of past use, places it was kept, and the passage of time. Oddly enough. There's some sort of slip decoration on the front, under the spout, that is difficult to discern. It probably was a name or some sort of writing and part of a date where a mistake was made and the entire piece was glazed over in this unique manner to cover it up. It looks like a capital letter C with a last name under it, followed by 1874 or 1879, perhaps. The way the piece was glazed as well as wear and tear makes it very difficult to make out. In fact, we didn't really notice the writing until after viewing one of the photos while posting this auction. It's an interesting peak into the history of this old pitcher and perhaps if you are skilled, you may be able to determine what it says under that glaze. Regardless. This is a very attractive piece of pottery that also has decorative incised bands, an applied handle, a charming country-style shape, and of course its very nice coloring. It measures 10 1/4 inches high while the diameter of the bottom is 4 1/8 inches. The opening of the pitcher is 5 1/4 inches including the spout and the widest point in the middle is 7 1/2 inches. It weighs over 4 pounds. We found no cracks or hairlines, only some old pitting on the interior that isn't structurally significant. There is surface wear and loss of glaze but nothing that detracts from its beauty. This piece is still even

Brown Glaze Salt Redware Pottery Hand Craft Pitcher Jug
I am selling for a family member. She has recently moved to a studio apartment from a large home and does not have room or the decor for her late brother's Asian treasures. He was an artist for a major card company whose companion was the Asian buyer for the corresponding luxury department store. The companion also brought back"treasures" for their own collections and the brother's home was decorated entirely Asian. The exception was some local pottery of which he had a small collection. This is a salt glaze type red ware or reddish brown glaze pitcher. It is signed on the bottom but it is very hard to read. Especially as I am unfamiliar with the artist. It appears to say Bimme or Bumme followed by a large flourished H. Next to the H is apparently the year the item with its applied leaf motif on the handle was made, it says ... more81. Below and connected to the H is a stylized flower or leaf. The piece has variations in the color and thickness of the glaze that appear to be intentional, and give the impression of age. It is in good used condition but was apparently used to hold some of his art supplies as there is some blue on the inside bottom. I have not attempted to remove this. It is overall a very appealing and warm looking piece and is around 3 3/4" tall and around 5" wide handle to spout. It would be my guess that it was made by an artist from the Kansas City area. I welcome comment from those who know more. Shipping will be actual to you with no extra"handling" charges. i just want to find these items new homes. Thanks for looking.

Vintage TLAQUEPAQUE MEXICAN ART Pottery Bowls, 4 Nesting Serving Bowls, Redware
VINTAGE MEXICAN ART POTTERY.TALAQUEPAQUE.REDWARE.NESTING BOWLS! This listing is for a VINTAGE SET OF MEXICAN NESTING BOWLS. They are in good pre-owned condition. They don't look they were actually used for cooking or serving. Maybe displayed only. I believe the signs of wear that you see is from them being stacked on top of each other and from being moved from one place to the other. Like all vintage red clay or terracotta pottery pieces, there are a couple of flakes of glazing along the edges, they may be from age or from the process of creating the piece. These are consistent with this type of art work. No large chips or cracks on the 3 smaller bowls. But, the larger bowl does have a large chip on the top edge and has a few smaller ones beside it, near the handle. I'm not sure if these are safe to actually eat or to serve out of. ... moreThey may be for decorative use only, I'll let you be the judge. I'm always happy to answer any questions you may have. ANTIQUE CROCK JAMES B. HAMILTON GREENSBORO PA. 1871 REDWARE ROOF TILE
THIS IS A GREAT PIECE OF AMERICAN HISTORY- IT IS A JAMES B. HAMILTON. GREENSBORO, PA. REDWARE OR EARTHENWARE ROOF TILE STAMPED JBH 1871 THERE IS ONE EXACTLY LIKE IT YOU CAN SEE ON THE WINTERTHUR MUSEUM WEBSITE. IT IS MUSEUM# 1967.0205.001 HERE IS ALSO AN EXCERPT FROM THE GREENSBORO HISTORY SITE: Albert Gallatin. A partner in the Albert Gallatin Company, purchased lots in Greensburgh in 1795. On a trip to Washinton, D.C. he met a group of German glass blowers who were heading to Kentucky to form their own company. He urged them to consider settling in Greensburgh. The group settled in New Geneva in 1790 and the plant operated there until 1805 when it moved to the northern section of Greensburgh, later called Old Glassworks. By 1807 the quality of Glassworks Glass was recognized as superior throughout the country. Old Glassworks did a booming ... morebusiness and prosperity filled the streets of Greensburgh. Albert Gallatin sold his interest in the glass factory to the Kramers. Who operated it until 1849. Although the Glassworks Glass Factory closed in 1849. By 1859 the town, now known as Greensboro, was flourishing with 500 inhabitants. Much of the success of the town was due to river trade and travel and other industries such as the pottery business and the Tile Manufacturing Company which produced roof tile. Souvenirs of both industries are still treasured by many residents in the form of Greensboro Crocks and roof tile with the inscription JBH-Patent 1871. THIS TILE IS IN GREAT CONDITION. WITH ONLY MINIMAL SIGNS OF USE. THE LAST 2 PICTURES WHERE IT LOOKS DARKER IS JUST WHERE IT IS STILL WET FROM WHERE I CLEANED IT. I HAVE 6 OF THESE- HOWEVER THIS AUCTION IS ONLY FOR 1- IF YOU ARE THE WINNING BIDDER AND WANT MORE THAN 1 OR ALL 6 I WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO TRY TO WORK SOMETHING OUT WITH YOU. IF YOU ARE A CROCK COLLECTOR. YOU NEED AT LEAST 1 OF THESE TO DISPLAY WITH YOUR COLLECTION! THANKS FOR LOOKING!

Vintage Mexican Dripware oval platters (two), Redware, Oaxaca
These rare vintage redware pottery long oval platters were made in Oaxaca. Mexico. They are manufactured from red earthenware(clay) and glazed with a method called"Dripware. Both. The brown and the green platters, have the word"Mexico" incised on the bottom, with the green one also having raised lettering. Oaxaca" included on the underside. Both platters have some chips in them, which is inherent in pottery of this sort. They are usable as serving dishes. I would recommend handwashing in warm soapy water only. They are not meant to be put in the dishwasher or washed in very hot water. In regards to condtion. The previous owner colored flakes and chips with color which hides many of the flaws. Overall they are in good vintage condition. I can. Only guess as to age being made sometime in the 50's. Dimensions: Each platter ... moreis 1 1/2 inches deep. 7 1/2 inches at it's widest part, 16 inches long. They are quite beautiful and will add color and design to your table. They look authentic with tacos or tortillas served in them! RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk.rp*3A%3Cd%3Ff6%3E-13f488ad48b-0xfb-

1800s Redware Jug - Dark Albany Slip Glaze - Incised Flower Decoration + Bonus
This auction is for a redware jug that dates to the 1800s. The jug is approx. 8 1/2" tall and has a flower. Possibly a magnolia, incised into the jug. The Albany slip glaze is dark brown and the first photo which was taken without the flash show a better representation of the true color. The other photos were taken with the flash and show the damage areas and imperfections better. There are several chips in the spout area, an old repair to cracks in the applied handle and numerous imperfections. All in all the jug, which was made to be used in it's day, is in fair condition and still displays nicely. Also included as a bonus is a smaller redware jug which dates to the 1800s and has the same dark brown glaze. The jug measures 4 1/2" tall and has a large chip to the spout. Several hairline cracks, but no damage that I could see ... moreto the applied handle. The little jug with it's imperfections is still very solid and makes a great companion piece to the larger jug. And of course, the corncobs are included at no extra charge! Shipping is FREE with Buy It Now! Before bidding. Please look at the photos to make your own judgement of the content& condition of the items and feel free to ask questions, as all sales are final. I will combine shipping to save you money. So bid on as many items as you want! I add insurance to all items to protect you and me. So the shipping price may seem high. I don't make money(sometimes I do lose money) on shipping costs and if there is $1.00 or more difference I will refund to your PayPal account! Thanks for looking and bidding. Good Luck! ATQ Barbie Hawaiian Tiki Hula Luau Doll Figurine VTG Bisque Redware 16”
Box Q This is an old doll ~ And she looks like she's lead and interesting life. She's definitely been touched up but not too bad for her age. Just some scuffs here and there. Arms are in placed by a heavy band which is how they did it back in the day. Kind of hard to get the band just right to keep the arms in socket but it's doable. There is some crackling on the doll and one pretty severe crack but it doesn't go all the way through. Hula skirt is still intact. This is an older doll in need of some TLC She is 16"t.
