Up for bids we offer this genuine. 19th Century redware pottery jar in very good, well-preserved condition. It's a rugged, utility pot that has a ... morecharming, bulbous shape with two applied handles. This piece is lead glazed and colored with oxides, green being the main color along with rust-colored mottling and touches of mustard yellow too. It's a striking blend of colors that really makes this pot stand out in a room. The inside of it is completely glazed while most of the sides of the exterior are too. The outside area close to the bottom edge and the entire underside are not glazed and the original dry and dirty red clay surface is exposed. There are a pair of decorative, incised bands near the top and a number 2 impressed in the surface just above them, on one side As to be expected. This old redware jar shows lots of age, however it is in very good overall shape! It's solid, sound, and not deteriorating in any way. The opening rim has a shallow chunk out of it and a small chip in the opposite side. They are old flaws that likely happened during use way back when, they have the same patina as the rest of the piece and have been worn smooth over time. The edge of the bottom also has a little chipping in a couple places which is typical for an early household piece such as this. There are no cracks or hairlines and the handles are in great condition, it's amazing a piece as old as this one didn't sustain a break in one or both of its handles. You'll find that the glaze on one side is much glossier than that on the other side; the interior glaze is very flat too. Not considered special back in its time, this old jar was for everyday use and the wear and tear it has is indicative of that. As for measurements. It stands 6 5/8 inches high and has a bottom diameter of 3 5/8 inches while the opening measures 5 inches across. Handle to handle, the widest portion is 7 inches. There are no repairs to this piece. As the photos show, this is a handsome example of mid 19th Century redware with rich,

Vintage Hand Painted Redware Brown Glazed Teapot Japan Gold Trim Lattice
So shiny and so immaculate! I had trouble taking photos because of the reflections off of this great. Vintage Japan teapot. Made from redware and extensively decorated with very delicate trellis and flowers and leaves and then over painted with the dots of orange, blue and white. Approximately 6 1/4" tall to the top of the finial on the lid. 9" wide from spout tip to outside of handle. Lots of gold detail. Marked made in Japan. I don't believe it was ever used. There is a bit of loss of gold on the top of the handle and couple of nibbles on the inside lip of the lid where the red work was not glazed. These could have been from production. I just mention them for accuracy. RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Feog4d72f%2Bf7%60%3E-13eb1225993-0x102-

Lovely Rustic Primitive Vintage Pottery Planter Bowl Iron Ring Handles Redware ?
Lovely Rustic Primitive Vintage Pottery Planter Bowl Iron Ring Handles Redware? Everything that I am listing this week is from the flea market. And from an auction that we went to. There’s lot sandlots of variety, and nifty stuff too- so I hope you enjoy! loveLoveLOVE this gorgeous rustic vintage piece. While it is clear that is was used as a planter in its past. It occured to me that it would be a fabulous bowl for you indoors too. It's got the BEST rustic primitive style- made from clay intentionally rustic, I do believe that it might be redware- look at the bottom and see what you think- I'm not sure because that's the only place that I am seeing the color of terra cotta- so I do believe so. It's a heavy piece, weighing just shy of 4 1/2 lbs- which is a lot as it is a small piece at 8" diameter across the top, 4 5/8" ... morediameter across the pedestal base and 5 5/8" tall. It has fabulous rustic rusty ring handles that look like they have been painted at one time too. See the cracks on the outside? They are from the making of this piece, not damage, as they are not on the inside at all. That being said, I want you to know that I did not fill this piece up with water as I did not want to mess with the patina, but that's a non-issue if it is to be used as a planter or bowl. There are no cracks structural issues though. There's lots of small chips all around- truly can't tell if that's from the making or later, but it all WORKS! I am showing you one indent/divot on the very top of the base where it meets the bowl in photo 15- it is an original indent in the clay from the making. I'm also showing other indents and rustic areas that all look original to the piece- please supersize and look at all- if you love rustic pottery, you are going to love this one. Overall excellent solid and sturdy condition. The rings have surface rust only, and you can see the dark stain on the inside- it looks like a stain from mud- I have not tried to clean this piece in any way and it could

Antique c 1760 JACKFIELD POTTERY JUG Decorated BLACK GLAZED Baluster REDWARE
IMMEDIATE– PROFESSIONALLY PACKED– FULLY INSURED- SHIPPING Buyer pays actual cost of fully insured shipping. Very safely packed. All Customs forms will state the actual selling price of items shipped internationally. Intrigued by a quote I found in an old book written in 1904 by A. H. Church. I had no choice but to spend the next two days researching what he said. After all, Mr. Church was“the man” at the Victoria& Albert Museum when it came to European ceramics. With an image of a jug nearly identical to the one presented here. He wrote: The only Salopean earthenware that claims notice here is the believed to have been made at Jackfield. about 1760-1775. I’ll continue the quote in a jiffy. But I can assure you that the jug at Victoria& Albert is not only of the same form and age, it appears to have been decorated by the same hand. ... moreHowever. First we’d better take a good look at the old rascal I’m selling. It is black glazed redware. Hand painted and standing 9 ½” tall. As with the V&A example. As well as a second specimen owned by The Jackfield Pottery National Trust. Inventory Number 509515) the one selling here also carries an“inscription contained in scroll cartouche below sparrow’s beak spout. The only difference is the name. According to information passed to me many years ago by the family. C. Guest” was British“nobility. I am simply unqualified to identify the person. I’ll leave that to the Peerage professionals. Let’s call them Nobiliphiles. CONDITION REPORT: In my opinion. This baluster form Jackfield Pottery jug is likely the finest example not imprisoned in a museum or secret collection. As one would expect, there are some minor losses of enamel. After all, it is“over the glaze. There is one tiny bite. And I DO mean tiny, under the rim of the spout, midway between the“poring point” and the body. I have enhanced a couple photos seen below. Had I not, you couldn’t have seen it. More images and commentary continue below my three"Prime Directives: 1st: I never. Under any circums
stoneware / redware bulbous pottery jug signed blue/black glaze Antique American
Hello- This charming bulbous jug is 5 1/2" tall and the same in diameter. It is some kind of stoneware- which looks reddish on the surface. But is also greyish underneath. The glaze is a very shiney black which turns blue where thicker. It is full of metallic bursts in the glaze. The is pure white with a slight uniform crackle which suggests some real age. It could be earlier than 1900- I don't know. It is inscribed underneath- it looks like McCall. Please email with questions.

Antique Pre Columbian Moche Pottery Redware Stirrup Jug Polychrome Paint
Up for bids is a wonderful old Pre-Columbian Pottery Stirrup Jug. It has Polychrome paint. Creamy yellow with red/brown design. It looks to be red clay and has a nice feel to it. I have been let know that this Jug that I bought at a estate sale was not Native American like I thought it was! I knew it looked old, I just did not know how old! After looking on the internet, I feel quite sure it is a Pre-Columbian Stirrup Jug as was suggested to me. It has wear and chips around the lower base and one on the upper lip. There is one tiny chip(shown in some pictures) that was loose and has come off and someone has drawn with pencil on the base. This pot came from a wonderful old estate on Lake Superior. I have also listed a Native American made Basket from the same estate. Please look at the pictures and email any questions. Thank you for looking ... moreand good luck.

1935 Santa Clara Pueblo Polychrome Redware Pot
SquareTrade © AP6.0 Handmade Historic Santa Clara Pueblo Handmade Polychrome Decorated Redware Jar~ This traditional vessel features native clay. Traditionally coiled and hand-formed, polished then polychrome slip decorated in a clouds/rain motif. The pot was collected in 1935 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It shows relatively little wear for its age, and is a great example of earlier Santa Clara Pueblo Polychrome Redware. It measures 7 7/8" diameter and 5 7/8" tall. The pot is signed"Madaline/ on the bottom. It is clearly the work of Santa Clara Pueblo potter Madaline Naranjo, the grandmother of the currently working potter of the same name, who began her career in 1935. The signature was made in soft pencil or stylus in the damp slip before firing and any trace of pigment has worn away during the 75 years this pot has been ... moreheld in collections. The bottom of the pot still bears the original, handwritten price tag- $3.00. Provenance consists of copies of original purchase notes, which we have reviewed, made by the original owner during two trips to the Southwest in 1931 and 1935, that will be provided to the new owner of this wonderful pot. If you are looking for an unusual piece of authentic old Santa Clara Pueblo pottery from an important potter. Then go no further! Mexican Redware Tamale Serving/Eating Dishes (4)
Mexican Redware Tamale Serving/Eating Dishes(4) Up for auction are four(4) individual serving dishes you can use for tamales. Snacks, etc. Dishes are oval in shape and measure 9.25"Long x 6.5"Wide x 1.5"High. They are a rich reddish brown/sienna color with a cream colored stripe that encircles the dish just below the rim. Dishes are heavily glazed and in great condition considering their age and usage. The bottoms of these servers are not completely glazed. These dishes have just a few spots where the glaze has either worn off. Applied too thin or missed an area, or bubbled and made a small indentation or chip-like tiny hole. I had to look real hard to find any of these instances as dishes were purchased by me and then put into a hutch. I never really used them. The only reason I am selling these nice dishes is my son is threatening ... moreme that he is going to turn me into the"Hoarders TV Show" if I don't cut back on my Mexican pottery collection. These dishes are safe to eat from and to serve food in. I'm not sure if they are safe to actually put in an oven. I looked for the paperwork that came with these dishes to see if they were lead-free and safe to cook with but I wasn't able to find anything on them. I had purchased them on eBay about 4 years ago. Dishes are very good looking and they look great on a table when serving Mexican foods. Thank you for showing an interest in these dishes. Please take a moment to check out the other pottery that I have listed for sale. ANTIQUE MEXICAN REDWARE POTTERY PLATE - SUN - c.early 1900's
A great early Mexican redware pottery plate. Dating from the early 20th century, possibly earlier. There is a central sun motif with a decorative border around the lip. It has a fairly thick clay body& is predominately cobalt blue decoration with accents of chrome green& yellow on a white glaze background. It is glazed on both the reverse& facing sides. There are also a few glaze pops in the decoration on the face of the plate, that occurred in the firing. ANTIQUE MEXICAN REDWARE POTTERY 10" BOWL - ROADRUNNER MOTIF- c.early-1900's
An old Mexican redware pottery bowl. Most likely from the early 20th century, maybe a bit later. It is wheel thrown with a white glazed interior& simply decorated with a rim border and a naive roadrunner design in black& chrome green slip. there are several'motion' strokes under the bird. I'd guess to suggest that he is running very very fast; The underside of the bowl is the red bisque clay body. Left unglazed, though it's very smooth& feels as though it was oiled or waxed at some point, probably to seal the surface. This bowl is in very good antique condition with some wear at the bowl's outside edge& two very minor flake chips. There are some darkened areas(discolorations? in the bisque underside. There is one hairline crack at the upper interior edge. But it appears that only the glaze is affected, ... moreas it doesn't go through the wall or show on the outside. the bowl doesn't'ring' as though there's a crack through the body. This old bowl is fairly large. Measuring just over 10" in diameter& stands approximately 4" in height. The incised base is about 3" in diameter. I'll be happy to answer any questions I can. But please ask before placing a bid. If you would like additional photos, just drop me a message. I accept payment through PayPal. If you are the winner of this auction. Please Wait to receive an invoice from me before making payment. As the high bidder. You'll notice that eBay sends an auto-generated invoice& payment request right after the auction ends. I will need to adjust the shipping costs to your location& add insurance, if desired, so Please wait for my invoice. Which will usually be the SECOND invoice you receive. I'll most often send a correct invoice the day after an auction ends. And I' ll let the high bidder know if I'm running behind. I apologize for any confusion. Old Handpainted Mexican Redware Pottery Toothpick Holder
Vintage Mexican redware pottery toothpick holder handpainted in traditional colors and designs. This is old pottery. Not the newer stuff you can still buy today in the Mexican markets. The pictures make this pottery look yellow rather than the reddish brown that it truly is. I've found that to be true whenever I photograph redware, I don't know why. Nice collectible ethnic piece. Check out my other items on ebay and remember I'm happy to combine shipping. Thanks for looking.
