Vintage Native American Seed And Paint Pot Redware Pottery Train Mark Art NR
These two beautiful works of art were purchased at a local estate sale. I'm not sure of age or origin. I do not believe both piece were made by the same artist. The small paint pot has a polished red finish on the bottom. Whereas, the larger seed pot has a terracotta finish. The seed pot measures 2.75" tall and 3.75" in diameter. It has a mark that looks like a train on the bottom. It does have light wear to the black paint which would be very easy to correct. The little paint pot measures 7/8" tall and 1.75" in diameter. I don't see any condition issues with it. If you have any questions or need additional photos please contact me and I will respond promptly. Thanks, Joe
Vintage Redware Sgraffito Pottery Skillet Handle Bowl Fish Mexico? Primitive
Very nice/attractive vintage redware? pottery bowl/skillet with Mexican/Indian motif. This appears to be a handmade piece with handpainted decoration around the rim of the bowl and what looks like a fish design on the middle of the base of the bowl. Very colorful with green. Blue, white and brown. Clear glaze over the top side of the bowl that streaks down toward the bottom underside of bowl. No major issues that I can tell. There is some light nicks/chipping and no cracks, some flaking which is on the rim with signs of use, but I believe this is quite old and overall this looks great. Very large, measures approx. 12" from handle to end of rim, approx 10" across and is approx 3 1/3" deep. Again, this is a vintage piece so it is not perfect and obviously not new. Lg. Early ANTIQUE REDWARE Stoneware OVOID CROCK Jar Jug Incised- RARE Handles This listing is for an early antique stoneware redware ovoid shape handled crock or storage jar with primitive. Out of round form. The handles on this crock are very unusual and rare. They look to be formed or pulled from the piece. Rather than applied as is commonly seen. The crock is indented, creating a recess behind each handle that allows for carrying. The handles are joined to the main body of the crock on each end. They have an arched shape that makes them easy and comfortable to hold on to. It seems to be an ingenious design. Yet I have not seen this type of handle before. And cannot find another example in any of the American stoneware pottery books. This utilitarian crock or jar was given some beautiful decorative touches with both incised and raised banding ... morearound the body of the piece. At the mouth. There is a rolled rim with two incised bands beneath. In the middle, at handle height, the crock has four raised bands that encircle it at the widest point. The glaze on this jar is stunning. With a wide range of color. There are shapes formed by the glaze that look almost like letters, perhaps a mark of some sort? Or maybe just a happy accident. I believe this piece is quite old. Dating to the early to mid 19 th century. Possibly even the late 18 th century. Though I don’t know the exact age. It measures approx. 12” tall and 12” across the widest point. The mouth is approx. 8-8 ½” across and the base measures 6 ¼” in diameter. The handles are approx. 3 ¼” long x ½” thick. The jar is in very good antique condition. It has appropriate wear for a utilitarian pottery piece of this age. The piece has no cracks or other structural damage. The lip of the crock shows a fair amount of age related wear. Most of the wear is superficial only. With a number of areas where the glaze has flaked or chipped off, but there are just a couple of shallow surface chips as well(please see pictures. The exterior body of the piece is

Diminuative 1 Pint Redware Jug, Probably New England, 1800's
Here's a cool little Redware jug we picked up in thrift shop recently here in North Carolina. This little gem stands about 5.5" tall by maybe 4" in diameter. I'm figuring it is about 1 pint capacity. Pints and half pints are usually pretty rare. So matter what area of the country they are from, and this one is really nice. The color is almost black, and I would guess it's a dark manganese glaze on it. I know these photos are not my best effort(pic editor is on the fritz) but I think you can clearly see it's obviously hand turned. The only flaw I see on it is a smll briuse on the side edge of the handle. No other damages, and no repairs. It's not what I collect, so maybe somebody out there will give it a good home. Jug ships USPS Priority OR Parcel Select Insured, your choice. Thanks for looking, and good luck ... moreshould you choose to bid on it. Ed
Redware Brown Betty Moriage Teapot Tea Pot Japan Vintage 1960s Hand Painted
FREE SHIPPING! Beautiful Redware collectible teapot- Made in Japan- most probably in the 1960's Moriage painting- Brown Betty style teapot It has an intricate. Hand-painted, Moriage design on both sides of the piece. There is gold detailing throughout the piece. A bit of the gold on the handle has rubbed off from use and age. The pot is free from cracks and crazing. But does have a chip in the rim of the lid. There is also a small chip on the bottom of the teapot pedestal which you can see in my picture. In addition, another small chip occured prior to the firing and glazing processes. It is under the paint and glaze. None of these condition issues detract from the beauty of the piece, but of course must be pointed ou. The teapot measures approximately 6 3/4" from the base to lid. And approximately 8 1/2" from the handle to ... morethe spout. This is an excellent piece for your collection or that of a friend's. Gorgeous Bosnian Redware Pottery Bud Vase
Redware Pottery Bud Vase Bosnian Redware Pottery Bud Vase with a Brown Drip Glaze or Tobacco Glaze. The glaze is a cross between a brown drip(but not quite) and a tobacco(but not quite) Ether way it is unique. I did a bit of research and while I couldn't find anything exactly like it I did find some info. There is a partial paper label on the bottom. Couldn't tell what language it was in so I actually found a program online where you can enter in words. Or parts of words from another language and it would tell you what it was! Gotta love the internet. This is a really unique piece. If you look inside of the vase(you can see some from the photo but not as well as my description. you can see the red(or golden red) pottery that was used(see the last photo) It doesn't look smooth at all-don't know how they wound up with this beautiful ... moreoutside but it is perfectly smooth. The top has a split design and it flares out to either side just a bit. Has 2 little'knobs' on either side. It stands 7" tall by about 3.5" wide. I will send a reminder on the 3rd and if I haven't heard back I relist on the 5th day with no further notice. On breakable items I add a 1.45 charge for insurance.
