Super Green ANCIENT Pre-Columbian MAYAN Two-Holed Bead
I'm not exactly sure what purpose this beautifully colored Mayan bead served! It was sourced in the Highlands of Guatemala. It likely had some function related to they tie off at the back of a necklace. Or was used to separate the strands in a multiple strand necklace. It's impossible to say for sure. It's remarkable for its color. It was crafted, not from jadeite, but from some other very green stone material. It is clear from the patina that this is a very ancient bead, that has enjoyed alot of wear. 15.5mm x 7mm. We combine shipping costs. VERY RARE & FINE-ANCIENT Pre-Columbian MAYAN Tubular JADEITE Bead
Very finely crafted. Long slender Mayan Jadeite bead, sourced in the Highlands of Guatemala. This amazing bead speaks to a level of craftsmanship that only the very early Indus Valley Cultures have equalled. Considering the technology at hand(which was that of sticks and abrasive powders) how does one make such a fine and delicate bead! The walls are thin, and the holes oversized. This allowed for maximizing the translucent quality of the jadeite. There is a little wear at one of the stringing holes, otherwise this wonderful and rare bead is in excellent condition. 25mm x 4mm. We combine shipping costs. ALL US POSTAL SERVICE FEES HAVE BEEN RAISED An additional fee will be added for shipping to Asia, as a tracking number is required.

Pre-columbian necklace: jade and quartz beads and brass.
This measures 18 inches and this is what I know about it: it was given to me in 1988 as a wedding present. The woman who gave it to me was from Cali. Colombia and she bought a lot of pre-columbian jewelry with the intent to sell it in the US. She was not allowed to export it and only kept a few of the pieces for herself. When she gave it to me she said it was over 500 years old. She was a woman I trusted but I can't confirm any of this. As soon as I got it, I had it restrung with a new clasp. Last week we took it to a prestigious Denver jewelry appraiser. All he could confirm is that it's jade, quartz and either gold-plated brass or plain brass. I've worn it twice.
