The double spout and stirrup handle make it a unique piece, while the intricate ... moredesign and multi-color pottery material showcase the talent of Latin American culture. The narrow spouts were constructed to help prevent evaporation of liquid in the vessel. Wear is consistent with age and use. There are a few minor chips around the inside edge of the spouts from use. This interesting piece is a Pre Columbian reproduction of a Muisica double jar effigy vessel complete with aging appearance including manganese deposits. ... moreIt is a fairly large item. Solid and rather heavy. The color and markings are intense making it a great show piece. I purchased this and a few others that are made by modern artists doing Pre Columbian style vessels. This even has mineral deposits scattered over it. I like a few of these from the artistic standpoint and I can get nice Pre Columbian decor for much less than original that are artistically done. I have priced it as a reproduction well done. The Muiscas were a more loosely organized confederation of peoples than say. The Incas, Aztecs, or Mayans with pottery starting about 1500 BC. ANCIENT PRE-COLUMBIAN AMERICAN SOUTHWEST HAND-DRILLED TURQUOISE NUGGET AND BONE BEAD NECKLACE I bought t hese beautiful pre-Columbian beads many years ago from a highly respected member of the Antique Tribal Art Dealers Association. What you see are 20 natural turquoise nuggets. Each unique, spaced with 19 end-tapered tubular bone beads. Filling out the strand are 75 disk(and three round) bone beads. Together. The beads measure 43.2cm(about 17” in length. All of the turquoise beads are in excellent condition. A couple of the bone disks are chipped(10 th photo) They are in their original order. Restrung because the original fiber cord was disintegrating. If you plan to wear the necklace. You should restring it, or have it professionally restrung, with either a clasp or a traditional tie-off.

Antique Pre Columbian Pottery Bowl/Cup
This is a really fascinating piece that I purchased from an estate sale of a collector. The property in the estate dated from the Victorian era. So I am assuming this was collected during that period. The bowl or cup measures 3 1/8" high x 5" diameter at the top. It looks to be made of clay. There are stains on it and the inside of the piece has some pitting(for lack of a better term) There are some rough spots along the base. There are lines of white on the piece, looking like they are from when this was buried? The big white line on the inside is not a crack that goes through to the other side. There may be a fine crack on the rim, but it is a little hard to tell. I also purchased other artifacts from this estate. Some are the items look to have a numbering on the bottom, so I assume they were in some sort of catalogued collection. ... moreIf you are interested in them, let me know and I can list them as well. Please let me know if you have any questions. From a non-smoking home. Thank you.

Well. I cannot confirm the age of this piece I can only share my observations based on research. This is a primitive vessel with opened mouthed Iguanas as handles- they are not a pour spout. When I rubbed the noses of the Iguanas I was left with a black carbon like substance. The inside, visible only by camera flash to me, is crude and rough and contains what look like mineral deposits of blue and green. The picture of my fingers shows what was recovered from wiping the inside of the opening as far as I could reach. The darker pictures are more representative of actual color. Photos also reveal some"bluing" on the outside. Filled with water there are no leaks but it is left with an earthy/sweet odor. It is approx. 9"h 8.5"overall width(Iguanas head to head) It is heavy, perhaps 5lbs. Felt disks aid in leveling. If someone ... morecares to comment or educate me further I would love to hear from you. I am in no way intentionally misleading the origin of this piece. I immediately suspected pre-Columbian or other ancient culture. Like it? Love it? Shoot me an offer!

PRE-COLUMBIAN EL DORADO VESSEL (L) Muisca Colombia
SquareTrade © AP6.0 This is a reproduction of an original piece from the Muisca culture. Which flourished between 300-1450 A.D. in the high savannah plain of the mountainous regions near what is today Bogota. This piece is said to depict the lake of the famed legend of El Dorado. This is a small but deep tripod dish, 2 human figures on opposite sides looking in, and 2 birds on the remaining sides. A very interesting piece, delicate and detailed. Little is known about these cultures that occupied the area in and near Colombia. The Muisca were excellent goldsmiths and ceramists. The pieces that have survived are of extraordinary beauty. Because of the abundance of gold in the area, once the Spaniards arrived, whole groups were wiped out to loot the treasures. The legend of El Dorado fueled more and more exploration. Even today, burial ... moregrounds can be discovered and pillaged, leaving little to study. Ceramics that remain today are from tombs, and are ceremonial in their use, representing rituals and events in their lives. Governments have now made international trade of these original pieces illegal. As we piece together bits left behind. We can begin to see cultures that were quite amazing, and begin to see how our world is not as large as we often believe. These pieces are an homage to those cultures. Carefully examined and studied by an experienced archaeologist, they are faithfully reproduced from originals, hand crafted by applying the same techniques and the same natural materials used by ancient potters in its elaboration and decoration. Each piece comes with a card giving a brief description of its use and the group that produced it. Measurements: 8” wide. 9 1/2” high. Ceramic, positive painting, polychromatic. Powered by

Superb Authentic Pre-Columbian Mixtec Penate ex. Arte Primitivo
I am re-listing this piece as the winning bidder wished to string it on a necklace for her to wear. Please be advised that when the piece was made the suspension holes were placed midways down the back(as can be seen in the pic) therefore it will NOT hang down vertically. This piece needs to be displayed for what it is, an outstanding piece of Pre-Columbian art. Not the biggest, but one of the most colorful Pre-Columbian Mixtec culture penates I have encountered. A really beautiful pale blue/green jade that I have seen some Olmec pieces also made of. This penate measures just under 1& 3/8" and is ex. Arte Primitivo and guaranteed 100% authentic. PRE COLUMBIAN PERUVIAN TEXTILE CLOTH WITH BOX TRIMMED IN STERLING SILVER!
Rare Peruvian cloth mounted under glass with box! I purchased this item just as you see it. The cloth appears to be extremely old but I'm unable to feel it because it is under glass. I tried to take detailed photos of the cloth so you can examine it. If you want the pictures emailed just send me your address so I can do so. The box is carved from a solid piece of wood and measures 10 1/4" x 4 3/8" x 1 1/2" high. There are 2 nicks inside the box- 1 nick on the lip and one on the upper outside edge of the box. The lid is junk. It is made of plywood& particle board. I don't know if the original lid was damaged and replaced with this one but clearly this does not match the beautiful box. Fortunately. This is not visible when the lid is on because the edges are trimmed in sterling silver. The edge is marked 925 PERU, ... moreI did not clean the silver so this does have it's natural patina. Special Note- the first photo is the most accurate as far as the color of the cloth. My lighting made the other cloth photo's look orange-ish. Low start ~ no reserve Check out my! Mexican Pre-Columbian 1997 MASCARA 1 Troy Oz .999 Silver Coin BU UNC Aztec Mayan
1997 Mexico- PreColumbian MASCARA Gorgeous low mintage 1 ounce coin sealed in airtite capsule. Scarce and hard to find. This is a'must have' coin for any serious collector! Description: The pre-Columbian silver coins minted by the Casa de Moneda de Mexico are all uncirculated commemorative coins. Meaning that they have never been used as legal tender. The mask coin, part of the Teotihuacan Series. Bears the inscription“Mascara” and the nominal face value of 5 pesos. The one troy ounce(31.1 gram) silver pre-Columbian coins are 1.6 inches(40 mm) in diameter, and 1/8 inch(3 mm) thick. And are made out of 99.9% pure silver. A magnificent Teotihuacan ritual mask. The original made out of stone chips fastened together with copal, is the subject of this coin. Showing the proud, stern features of a ruler, general, or high priest of the city. ... moreTeotihuacan was once the site of a vast metropolis. Numbering some 1/5 of a million human beings, centered around a huge religious complex known today as the Pyramid of the Sun. This vast and beautifully laid out city was already gone by the time of the Aztecs, swept away on the burning tide of war which ebbed and flowed constantly through pre-Columbian Mesoamerica. Teotihuacan is confirmed as being as ferociously militaristic as the later Aztecs by the finds of dozens of skeletons of sacrificial victims. Some apparently bound and buried alive with living eagles and jaguars tied and buried around them. The symbol of power in Teotihuacan was the motif of the“feathered serpent” Which is to be found on some of the coins– coins made more interesting by knowledge of the dramatic scenes that their images recall.
