The innermost moon of the planet Jupiter. This relief map depicts the many peaks, volcanoes, plateaus and mountains on the surface of the most geologically active object in the Solar System. The North Polar Region and the South Polar Region on polar stereographic projection are featured in the upper left and right quadrant respectively. The map also contains several notes along with an index of relief and features in the three maps. This map was based on images from Voyager 1 and 2. The primary mission of the Voyager 1 and 2 at the time of launch was to explore Jupiter and Saturn. Since then, the mission objective has been extended to exploring the Solar System beyond the outer planets, as far as the Sun's sphere of influence and possibly even beyond the outer limits of our Solar System. Voyager 2, launched in August 1977, flew by Jupiter and Saturn and continued on to explore Uranus and Neptune, becoming the only spacecraft to visit these outer planets. It is also the only spacecraft to have studied all four giant planets of our Solar System at close range. Voyager 1, launched in September 1977, also flew by Jupiter and Saturn and continued on toward interstellar space. Both space crafts are carrying a golden record explaining their origins and containing sounds and images portraying Earths life and its culture in all its diversity. Although departing the Solar System in different directions, both Voyagers have reached the Heliosheath, where the solar wind mixes with interstellar wind. This is the classic Playmates 1995 edition U.S.S. Enterprise. This ship is out of the box and has seen two 5 years missions. The toy is in great shape. Still makes the original warp. Engine and phaser firing sounds. The stand comes with it and makes for a great display peace for any Federation Home. Buttons make stick a bit at first but function without fail. The engines lights are bright and function with ease and will allow you to escape any Romulan or Klingon attacks. This ship has seen some battle scars and has some scorching on the exterior hull. The front hull did take a plasma blast from a Borg vessel but it's not too noticeable although it still contains memories from a Borg sneak attack. Up for auction is a wonderful and unusual hand hammered copper 4 piece smoking set. The set is made up of a tray. Cigarette holder, match holder, and ashtray. The tray is kind of a leaf shaped measuring approximately 13" X 9" The tray has an upright"prong" attached which could hold boxed matches. The cigarette holder is a large oval shaped ring measuring 4 1/2" X 3" X 3 1/2" tall. The cigarette holder does not have a bottom as can be seen in the pictures. The match holder measures 2 3/4" X 2" X 1 3/4" tall. The match holder does have a bottom attached. The ashtray measures 3 3/4" X 2 1/2" X 3/4" tall. The ashtray has a bottom. But there is a gap between the side of the ashtray and the bottom as can be seen in the pictures. I have not been able to find any maker's marks on ... moreany of the pieces of this set. A radio operator with the United States Military during WWII. Also includes the"Amepikh"America) patch that was worn above this patch.
