This is a set of mid-century Morgantown Glass Company pieces in their stunning"Peacock Blue" which I would call a rich turquoise or aqua. The set includes a pair of Cosmopolitan Slant candle holders. These are the coolest. They were made for standard tapers, but look good with a pillar too. They are Pattern#82. The large console bowl was introduced at about the same time, don't know its name, tho. The set looks more like it came from Denmark than West Virginia. All of the pieces are in beautiful condition with no damage. The bowl has some bubbles in the glass from the manufacturing process. See close-ups, but no chips, cracks or repairs. We acquired these lamps from an estate sale from a neighbor's home. The family was purging items from a home of an older family member that was built in the 1900's. The lamps are very heavy. They are an antique white plaster with a hand textured finish that resembles stucco. The design on the front of each is an extended diamond shape. Colors are an earth brown and burnt orange. The bottom tip of the burnt orange extended diamond has a small chip. Overall they are in excellent condition and will require minimal clean up. These lamps have been tested. And both work perfectly. Unfortunately the family did not have the shades for the lamps. Each lamp is 18" tall. With the harp it is 30"

This bowl makes a wonderful accessory in any decor but really shines as a focal point in a mid-century modern or contemporary setting. It has been in my family since the fifties and my parents may have bought it new. But I'm not sure. In any case, it was used over the years to hold candy and nuts and therefor does show some wear. It still presents itself beautifully and receives many compliments, but it is evident that there are tiny surface scratches when you look closely. If you wanted to display this as a museum piece then it's a great candidate for re-plating, as there are no dents or deep scratches. So I have found a wooden hall coat rack( Broken. With 6 hooks, I am listing them in trios. I have included pics of the broken item and the hooks on the item, then I took them off,cleaned them up, and voila. Of course the broken wood whatever it is will not be included. Not sure of the metal, they are solid, they appear to have been painted gold, but it only remains on the back( see pics) the end of the longer hook piece on the top of each is a bit worn. Each is approx 3 1/2" long and a little over 1 1/4" wide where the screws go. Original screws included. These remind me of antique acorn style hooks. Bright Colorful Swedish Rooster -- Mid-Century, Eames Era, Scandinavian
Up for auction is a wonderful brightly painted wooden rooster made in Sweden. It stands 10" tall by 2" wide. It is in excellent vintage shape with no paint chips or loss. This souvenir is a real collectors item right out of Mid-Century. There is a tiny hole in the rooster's tail to allow it to be hung from a Christmas tree via an ornament hook. But on the back it appears that previous owners have moved the wood braces around a bit. This does not show from the front. One of the hangers is missing but that would be an easy fix. Then some of the brass nails on the back have a green tarnish. This elegant piece measures approx. 22 1/2" wide X 12" tall. The bowl has a laticino pattern with ribbons and lace. The bowl weighs in at 7 lbs and 15oz. And is over 17" wide. It is a pinkish opalescent on the outside edgesand fades into a whiter color in the center. The piece is in excellent condition with the only flaw noted as a small rough area on the outer edge that can be seen when tipped into the light(see photo) What a great addition to any Mid-Century Modern theme or for an advanced Murano Art Glass Collection. The bottom is ground and polished with the Blue MURANO GLASS Made in Italy sticker that was used by Fratelli Toso in the 50's and 60's. All 16 barware glasses are in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks or wear to the silver rim. These look exactly like the ones that were used in the first few years of the Mad Men series. I watch the show faithfully and I think the rim has gotten larger over time-but it might just be me. I think these were made by The West Virginia Glass Company. The brass parts has some tarnish, the wood parts is teak or walnut. The clock works. It is winded by hand, original key is included. Once winded it works for 7 days, it does lose 5-7 min in 24 hours.
