This piece has a white interior that is covered with BRIGHT Florescent HOT ORANGE GLASS which is in cased with crystal clear glass on the outside. This has 3 layers of glass. White, orange& clear. This is a vintage piece and it screams 1960's or early 1970's. We are not sure who made this. We are sure it is from Europe. It could be made in Italy and Murano Venetian Italian glass perhaps made by EMPOLI. It could be Scandinavian glass like HOLMEGAARD. Any help is welcomed. This is a lidded jar or container/ box. This has a mirror like exterior and smooth texture. This are in OUTSTANDING ~ MINTY ~ Condition! This is about 6" tall with the lid in place. With the mushroom shaped lid/ stopper ... morethe container is 4' tall. Across the base it is 3 + 5/8' wide. The mouth opening is 2.6' The stopper is 3.5' tall. We collect FINE glass and crystal know HOW to INSPECT it for flaws or damage. We did a VERY Careful VISUAL and TOUCH exam of this. We ran our finger on ALL surfaces. Around the rims, both inside and out and around the base& lid, sides, top& bottom. We felt for any nicks or flaws, and we FOUND NONE. We tapped this w/ our finger to make sure it RANG LIKE a BELL, which is what you want to hear, so you know there are NO HIDDEN cracks. If it were cracked it would thud& not ring. Handblown Pilgrim Art Glass Decanter Pinch Style-Amber-Original Label-Mid Century Kluk Kluk-I have been researching this decanter and have not found any exact matches. This lovely tall. Pinch-style Amber/Jonquil decanter is hand blown glass with original ground stopper. The stopper has a small hole in the bottom, part of its manufacture. Stopper is ground to fit. The bottom pontil is a series of raised dots in a circle about the size of a nickel. The body has several small bubbles trapped within the glass, commonly found on hand-blown objects. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks or cloudiness. The glass is brilliant. The color is a rich, honeyed amber or jonquil color. I have seen similar decanters referred to as Kluk Kluk style. The original silver with black print foil label on the front of the decanter dates this piece ... morebetween 1955-1962. The decanter meadures 13-1/2" tall x 2-1/2" wide at pinched, corseted middle x" wide at bottom and 3-1/2" at shoulders. Because Pilgrim is a mouth blown art glass; there are no manufacturers marks in the glass. Older pieces can sometimes be found with the original paper label such as this one. The Pilgrim Glass Company closed its doors in 2001. I think this is a rather unusual piece. On Mar-22-13 at 16:08:54 PDT. Here's a very cool mid century round 100 year perpetual calendar for the years 1965 to 2064. There is a top piece that rotates around to reveal different days. Years and months, and the calendar operates by aligning this piece to the correct time periods. There are etched and colored designs of animals and symbols around the outer band of the calendar. It has a hinged stand on the back for easy shelf or desk display. It is made of a non-magnetic metal which I think is brass. The calendar measures 8 inches in diameter. The Lustre Process Lustre is a rare, complicated and sometimes magical glaze technology, which originated in the Middle East and has been practiced for 1200 years. European potters learned the technique of applying gold, silver and bole containing copper sulfide, together with the manufacture of tin-glazed maiolica, from the Moors. In the 19th century, English, French, Italian and Spanish potters further developed the lustre glazes of the ... moreItalian Renaissance. I am following in the footsteps of William de Morgan, Clement Massier, Vilmos Zsolnay and Theodor Deck, while at the same time, elevating the technique to a new high standard of beauty for the 21st century. I am combining paste and flash reduction techniques to achieve a new lustre vocabulary. The essence of the lustre glaze technique is that the glazed or acid-etched glaze surface of the vase is decorated and covered in bole paste which contains copper, silver or another transitional metal. The pieces are then reduction fired in a muffle kiln with green wood, in the manner of the ancient Greek potters. The bole residue is washed away to reveal the magic of the fire. This is a very complicated and delicate process, which is rare and extremely hard to produce.

And I can assure you, to get this kind of quality today it is going to take a lot of money. Keeps great time, looks great. Vintage Mid Century Wiru Tallinn Estonia Guild Hall Souvenir Pottery Art Plaque
This is a Vintage Wiru(now Tallinn) Estonia Souvenir Pottery Art Wall Plaque. I thought the medieval building depicted in high relieft might be the Great Guild Hall that now houses the Estonian History Museum. But I do not know for sure. I found a photo of the studded door that appears to match the door on the plaque, but the building does not seem to have the side turrets, so I cannot identify the subject of the plaque for sure. My assumption the building dipicted on the plaque was built in the city of Wiru in 1450 as dated. Wiru is now known as Tallinn. I believe the plaque is circa 1960s. But we do not know the age for sure. The Made in USSR sticker is one indication that the piece has some age to it. The back also has a maker's sticker with a design or model number. ESTONIA is also incised into the back of the plaque in English as ... moreseen. The plaque is 6" tall to the center of the arch. 4 1/8" wide, and 7/16" thick. It is a nice heavy piece and weighs about 14 ounces, just under one pound. There is a niche at the top for hanging on picture hanger or nail. This piece is signed on the bottom by Adolf Odorfer with the incised O with an incised A inside of the O. This piece stands just a shade over 1 3/4" tall and is 2 1/4" across at the widest. The glaze is executed with a repeating swirl pattern. I have seen this same pattern on other pieces Adolf Odorfer had made. There is one small flea bite(well photographed) on the edge of the base which is not a distraction at all. Adolf enlisted as a Medic with the United States Army in 1942. When he returned to the United States at the end of the war. He met his wife Ella in New York. While in New York, Adolf attended Columbia Teachers College where he receive his teaching credential. In 1949, both he and Ella returned to Fresno where they taught at Fresno State. Adolf had many of his ceramic pieces submitted for several of the Syracuse Museum competions. And the Everson Museum of Ceramic Art has several of his pieces in their permanent collection. He reported that he was most influenced by the work of Pablo Picasso, Mexican folk art and Pre-Columbian art. Adolf died in 1995 at the age of 92. This is a beautiful rosewood Mid Century piece. I believe it used to be something that attached to a wall unit. I used it as a bookshelf on the floor under a counter. There is one blemish in the unsealed stained top(see final picture) But the piece is in excellent shape.
