The piece would have been fired in a saggar(a lidded ceramic box intended to protect the piece from kiln debris. Antique Chinese Kangxi Porcelain Dragon Plates Blue & Off White 3 Total
3 Antique Kangxi Chinese porcelain blue& off white plates with a dragon. Plates are not bright white they have an off white tint. They also have a phoenix and 4 men. Not exactly sure when they where made but from my experience seem to have lots of age to them. Each plate is painted similar but not exact as you can see in the pictures. They measure 8 5/8" but each one is slightly off by about a 16th of an inch, plates are in excellent kept condition, no chips or cracks. Please contact me if you have any questions. Offered for auction is a wonderful large antique chinese famille noir covered jar with kangxi marks on the base and undercut foot rim of the kangxi period. The vase is beautifully painted and stands 16 inches tall and has been drilled as you can see. The finial was removed also when this vase was converted to a lamp. I removed the lamp parts which were circa 1930. This vase is at least 19th century and possibly of the 18th century. Hand signed underneath with the Chinese words- Kangxi Nian Zhi- made in the Kangxi Period, and our Chinese porcelain mark website dates this to around the 1880-1910 period. It has a matching lid with what looks like a Pekingese Dog sitting on top. The piece is in good condition- there is a small amount of damage on the lid. Where a piece has chipped off on the rim(see pics) and the lid appears to have been made separately from the vase, or possibly didn't originally belong to it at all- it is a very slightly darker shade of blue and the inside rim is smaller than the rim of the vase(see last but one pic) Nevertheless. Kangxi Famille Verte Bowl with Lotus Flower Mark, Late 1600s - Early 1700s
A Chinese Kangxi Famille Verte porcelain dish/bowl. It measures approximately 8.5 inches in diameter and 1.5 inches high. There are some small chips on this bowl. The largest chip is approximately 1/4 inch and is on the top of and side of the rim(see photos) Another one is approximately 1/8th of an inch and barely visible(I had to run my finger around the rim in order to feel it to know it is there) Some color fading and normal signs of wear for a porcelain piece this old. This bowl has the lotus marking on the bottom. There are some small stains on one of the white areas(if you click on the second picture and zoom in you will see them in the white area on the bottom half of the plate) This bowl is approximately 300 years old! The lotus flower mark is one of various pictorial marks used from the late 17th through the early 18th century. This ... morebowl is adorned in vivid colors of green enamel, red, blue, yellow and brown on white, and has a nice shiny glaze. A good early 18th century Chinese Imari plate. Well decorated in an underglaze blue design of scrolling flowers, then finished with iron red and gilt. It has a brown edge rim. There are no marks to the base. In good condition with no cracks or restoration. There is one tiny nick to the rim underneath. Also. There are 2 short parallel glaze lines(1.9 and 0.8 cm. long) from the rim on the front.
