These were shipped from China decorated in underglaze blue and then decorated with overglaze enamels in Holland(Amsterdam) as this worked out cheaper. Sometimes called clobbered work. Amsterdam's Bont freely translates as'Colourful[work from] Amsterdam' This was purportedly also done in the UK. Measures approx. 18.3 cm across from handle to handle and 15 cm high. Weight 832gr. Presented are four gorgeous Japanese or Chinese Imari enameled bowls. They are beautifully hand decorated with bright red. Gold, green and blue tones. There are white cherry blossoms and leaves in the center. The perimeter of the bowls are adorned with a beautiful wave pattern highlighted in gold. The outside of the bowls are decorated with scrolling blue leaf and vine brocade pattern. You can see numerous rust and pitting spots on the porcelain indicative of the age of these pieces. I believe they date to the 1800's or possibly earlier. The bowls measure 8.75" in diameter. There are no chips or cracks to these pieces, however you will see some minor wear to the enamel at spots. Deep blue and highlighted in gilt. The detailing on this plate is very well done and features scenes of fish, birds and paulownia flowers. It is excellent antique condition- no chips or cracks. This is a stunning work of art. It is a beautiful Imari style one handle. Scalloped edge, leaf or teardrop shaped serving tray/dish. It measures about 10 1/2" long and about 8" wide. The colors are varied shades of cobalt blue, light blue, light and dark orange on a creamy white background. The handle portion has gold trim, the rest of the dish is trimmed in a burnt orange color. There is some very light scratch marks on a small portion of the tray. There are two hairline cracks I noticed on the back, which I took upclose photos of. On the back is the Ashworth Brothers blue ironstone mark. There are also numbers handpainted on the back. Selling an antique 19th c. Meiji period Japanese Imari/Arita handpainted porcelain bowl. The porcelain is finely handpainted in traditional Imari tones of rust. Deep blue and highlighted throughout in gilt. The center medallion is an underglaze blue design of the"three friends of winter" The rim of the bowl has a scalloped edge detailed in gilt. It is in excellent antique condition- no chips, cracks or paint loss. The base is a typical bulls eye base- there is some old sand grit on the underside- probably from the kiln. Within the bulls eye base is a Fuki Chosun mark- typical on Arita wares from this era. It measures approx. 5.75" in diameter and 1.75" high. Antique COPELAND CHINA BERTHA IMARI SOUP BOWL- England Size: 9-3/4" diameter Pattern: 2/2017 Reg Mark 1889 Gorgeous vintage soup bowl in colors of iron red/rust. Cobalt blue and gold. It features a center design of large flowers accented with tiny buds and leaves. The deeply scalloped edges are bordered with a series of brown scrolls accented with additional flowers and gold. The colors are similar to the Spode India Tree pattern. The back of the plate has"Copeland China" in tiny blue letters. Other markings include"D 89" The D is the month it was made and the 89 is the year it was made) 5.5.05, P. and"V" Condition: The soup bowl is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks, or crazing and but little discernible wear to the gold.
