Guinomi or Nozoki that measures 2 inches high by 2 inches in diameter. It depicts cranes and floral patterns and it was made in the Imari region of Japan. The bottom interior of the cup has a bit of missing clay and a kiln crack both having occurred during the making of this piece. ANTIQUE JAPANESE IMARI TEAPOT WITH HANDPAINTED FLOWER ARTWORK
This is a delicate. Beautiful, colorful Imari Japanese teapot that measures 3" wide and stands 4" high to the top of the handle. The artwork on this teapot is amazingly intricate, with colorful flower patterns as well as a strange"rabbit looking" creature that is featured throughout the art work. The pattern along the bottom is amazingly intricate and beautifully done as well. I don't know the full history behind this piece, but can add what little i know. I received this piece from my grandmother a number of years ago. She picked up this teapot when she and my grandfather, who was in the military, was stationed in Japan around 1948-49. And are marked. fine condition. a little wear to the rim, no chips or cracks; the bowls are 6 1/2 inches longand 5 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches high. The charger measures 17 ¾ inches or 45 cm in diameter. And is just less than 3 inches high to the top rim. The platter is done in a high white and is hand painted with Imari colors in cobalt blue. Rust red, and heavy applied gold. Around the outside edges is an intricate border with cartouches. At the center of the plate is coat of arms with a crown. Fleur de Lis, and a pendant with a star and dove. Around this are branches of cherry blossoms and pomegranates. The outside rim is also decorated with four large hand painted flowers. ANTIQUE 160 YR OLD EDO ERA HAWK & HOO-O IMARI JAPANESE CERAMIC TEA CUP SAKAZUKI
From an estate sale in Japan. This is an antique Edo era(c. 1850) hand thrown porcelain Japanese tea cup with a unique hand painted hawk and Japanese hoo-o(phoenix) Additionally there is highly detailed hand painted work throughout the inner and outer rim in a comb procade. The inner center also has the three elements of happiness: pine, bamboo, and plum blossom. Next to the the hawk is a wind chime flying in the breeze. This cup has been fired at a high temperature for lasting strength and durability. It has been well used yet well loved and has sustained a small chip to the outer rim(see picture 8) as well as a faint hairline seen in the last picture. In spite of the minor damage. Vase is hand painted in"wucai" fashion with under glaze cobalt blue and enamels. The bottom is marked with a Ming"Wanli" emperor reign auspicious mark inside double blue rings and a"CHINA" stamped mark. This came off of an old lamp from the 1920-30's so I assume that this is at least that old. The shape is rather interesting and is like a cylinder or drum shape and the top opening is like that seen on Meiping shaped vases. I have never seen another in this shape. It is very heavy for it's size. About 5 lbs. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. It, of course has been drilled for lamp. Backstamp from 1877 to 1890) A lovely cup and saucer in pristine condition in the popular. bird in the nest' pattern 198. This set looks to have been in a cabinet all of it's life as the condition is amazing. There is no wear to gilding. No chips or cracks and the colours are so vibrant. Up for sale is an antique Mason's Patent Ironstone China Soup Tureen with Underplate. This is an early set. Early 1800s. Has Chinese scenes throughout the whole piece. I believe in the Imari pattern. I don't have the ladle. Has a colorful floral boarder. I would say that this set is in very hood condition for its age. There are no chips or any major damage or repairs. There is a small surface scratch/crack on one corner of the lid as seen in closeup photo. There is also a slight crack on one handle as seen in a closeup photo. Antique G. L. Ashworth& Brothers Ironstone Dinner Plate This rare and lovely antique ironstone dinner plate was manufactured by G. L. Ashworth& Bros. C1860s, and measures 10-3/8" in diameter. The finely executed design features a beautiful Oriental vase against a white background. Surrounded by four decorative motifs. The well is framed in cobalt, green and rust with a border of leaf-and-dart and decorative filigree. The outer border is painted with pink prunus blossoms along a scrolling vine. Alternating with cobalt leaves and stylized clouds, all against a pale mustard yellow ground. The back side of the plate. The brown stamped backmark is shown below.
