Rare Antique Hoosier Kitchen Work Station Cabinet Card Fiber Board Sales
This is an apparently very rare example of late 19th or early 20th century Hoosier cabinet or kitchen work station. Hoosier's became the central workstation for baking and preparing foods in the kitchen. It was the next step up from a stove and tables. I searched for hours and could not find a single photo of this piece. It seems to be too fragile for a child's toy so it may have been a salesman's sample to show to the lady of the house or in a display window at a store selling"Hoosiers" There were many traveling salesmen who would take an initial $1 down and payments of $1 per month to purchase a"Hoosier" cabinet. Amish Hoosier Antique Baker's Cabinet
This early-20th Century Hoosier is a classic example of Amish craftsmanship. The rich poplar wood cabinetry adds homey warmth to any room. This type of hoosier was often used by home bakers. The enamel countertop is quite unique. In that it retracts. The baker could push back the counter to reveal the ingredients stored underneath for convenient selection. Sellers Hoosier Style Cabinet Parts BOTTOM CABINET DOOR COMPLETE
I have a Sellers hoosier style cabinet that I am selling off all the parts. Everything except for the upper and lower cabinet frame and drawers is available. Including all hardware, doors, flour bin, tambour(rolling door) enamel work surface with wood framing and the brackets which the upper cabinet is attached to the lower. Feel free to contact me with specific questions on any of the above. This auction is for the original door for the bottom cabinet complete with wood bin. Wire rack and original hinges. The door measures about 22 by 19 1/2 niches. The inside measurement is about 21 1/4 by 18 7/8 inches. The wood bin on the top inside is about 19 3/8 long by 3 1/4 deep by 2 1/8 inches high. The hinge side will need some attention, is attached, but away from the door. The white wire rack measures about 19 1/2 inches long by 8 1/2 inches ... morehigh by 3 1/4 inches deep, is in overall very good condition. Has some minor bends but still holds its shape. I believe the two hinges are original and I have left them on the door. Rare to find all the parts in one place in such good condition. Overall, a very good replacement part. FOR SALE: Antique HOOSIER CABINET built in approx: 1910-1930 and brass tagged Dewitt Seitz Co. of Duluth. MN. All original as it sat in my mothers home, then mine for over 45 years. Silverware and/or kitchen utensil drawer, Tin lined bread bin, large pull out veggie drawer on bottom and a utility type cabinet too. This Hoosier comes apart in two pieces for easier moving. Original wooden roll top/accordion style drop down across the front where flour bin is. Original flour glass canister which swings out for use. There is a shelf which runs along the back inside of upper cabinet for other canisters such as sugar, coffee etc or you can do as I did and decorate with vintage type country kitchen items. Rustic Antique Oak Medicine Cabinet-Hoosier Markings on the back
I have a rustic oak medicine cabinet for auction today. It looks like some of the shelves have been replaced. On the back of the cabinet is Hoosier several times and some other printing. What I do not know is if this is the manufacturing marks or someone made the cabinet out of material that was stamped Hoosier. Either way. If you are looking for a rustic, country cabinet to finish your remodel, or give your bathroom that one of a kind, country feel this would be a great addition to your home. The cabinet measures 18 and half inches tall, 15 inches wide and just short of 6 inches deep. There is a glass knob for a pull, it doesn't stay closed real well, but someone who is more mechanically gifted than I could probably fix it easily. I simply used a little cardboard to keep it shut. ANTIQUE HOOSIER STYLE SALESMAN SAMPLE KITCHEN CABINET Here is a wonderful little hoosier style cabinet. I've had a lot of childrens furniture but not detailed this well. The way it is constructed is unusual. The top. Sides, bottom and work surface is wood covered with metal. The upper door and back& lower doors and the drawer fronts are metal. All of the metal is painted to make it appear to be made out of copper. One of the things I see that make it appear to be a salesman sample is the hardware. The hinges, latches& drawer pulls are just like the big cabinets except this hardware is smaller and it's all rivited on cabinet. This is an antique cabinet and it does show wear. I wuold say some little girl has played many days with it in the past. The cabinet is a two piece cabinet so it can be taken apart to ship just like the ... morebig ones. The cabinet measures 25 1/2" tall, 18 1/2" wide, and 7" deep at the top and 3 1/2" deep at the bottom. This is a set of 4 nice round milk glass pull knobs with brass metal stem bases. They're in very good vintage condition with some light surface wear and tarnish on the bases as well as old paint. I believe the bases are brass(magnet did not stick) but there is a silverish and goldish color to them.there are no nicks or chips except one small one which I didn't notice the first 2 times that I looked at it because of the white color, so not very noticeable and all the knobs come with original screws. Hoosier cabinet type flour bin w/brackets 11 3/4 w, 10 3/4 d, 15 1/4 t
You may be bidding on this great old flour bin. This is tin or light weight metal I believe. The outside looks great as it has been painted black. However the inside is in rusted shape. I hear people get these sand blasted and they are good as new, but I am no expert. Anyway the measurements are as follows. The bin itself is 11 3/4 wide, 10 3/4 deep, 15 1/4 tall from top of bin to lower bottom spout. The bracket to bracket measurement is 13 1/4. I do not see a maker name on this anywhere, it does have a small white porcelain knob on the handle and the spinning part is in good working order. Please note I only ship in the US. Up for your consideration is a very nice set of chrome plated cabinet door or drawer pulls. The chrome is in excelent condition with only the smallest amounts of oxidization barley visible. The Pulls measure 4" overall. And have a depth of aprox 1" when installed. The screw holes are 3 1/2" apart on center. Sorry but screws do not come with the pulls. Vintage replacement side bracket for a Hoosier style cabinet. Measures approximately 10 3/4 inches in length and 1 5/16 inches inside width. Made of heavy metal that is zinc looking but not sure of type of metal and has traces of white paint. It has rust areas that can be cleaned and painted. Sturdy piece with no rusted through areas. Has 5 raised bars on the side. Two at each end and one in the middle. Two places on each side for screw to attach the top to the bottom. Standard looking side bracket. This childs Hoosier style cabinet was found at a recent sale in the heart of Amish country in Ohio. It retains its original finish and has a wonderful patina. It is a one piece unit. This cabinet features the original hardware. Glass in the doors, 2 drawers and storage behind the base door. It appears that this piece was bench made many years earlier. One of the glass panes has a small crack in the corner. It measures 38 1/2"H x 27"W x 16"D at the base and the top is 10 1/2"D. It appears to be constructed of maple and pine. Helmer's oak Hoosier type cabinet mfg 1910 complete with accessories.
We're selling our oak 1910 Helmer's hoosier style kitchen cabinet. It was made by the Helmer's Furniture Co at Levenworth Prison using convict labor! It has the original finish except for the pull out work top. It was refinished a few years ago. All the glass is original and comes with the flour bin. Sifter and coffee container. It has two roll up doors. Top and bottom. Two pull out trays and three drawers. The bottom drawer is a galvanized storage bin.It also comes with the metal casters. There are no issues with this and everything works fine. We would prefer to have the buyer pick this up but would be glad to work with your shipper of choice if you want it delivered. It is a non smoking home It features a wonderful slide out porcelain work top. Hoosier Kitchen Cabinet Bread Drawer w/ hinged Lid This is the metal bread drawer lid for an antique Hoosier or Sellers kitchen cabinet. Lots of times they are missing or rusted out. It is in fair condition. Couple light spots of surface rust& scratches. There is a crease at the corner. Check out photos. Shouldn't hurt at all. It measures 18 3/4" by 13" by 6" Great item to complete a cabinet.
