Here is a wonderful George Nelson rare and practical home size mid century and industrial style desk with a distinctive walnut folding back wooden tambor top. Sturdy laminate writing area, wooden storage bin and 3 action pull out drawers all on a cast aluminum trestle style base made by the famous Herman Miller company in the mid 1960's. Before I get into the details. I will work with you on any shipping selections you may wish as I have a few options myself. I can pack it as needed and would only use excellent reliable shippers. Researching all the similar desks, I have priced it at what I feel is a great price and will now detail the specifics. It is an early production ... moremodel and is in overall beautiful condition and measures 50" across the front, is 32" tall, 29" writing table section ht. from floor) and 32" in depth, front to back. Next, the walnut tambor is solidly constructed, has no chips or splits and rolls smoothly back and forth as needed. The off white sturdy laminate top is slightly angled upward towards the rear and is in excellent condition with no scratches or stains or any hard use markings. Beneath the top are three gray pull out shallow wood front drawers with impressed dividers for small desk accessory items. These three are also in immaculate condition. The unique T legs have a styled divide line and the cast aluminum does show some normal aging. The stabilizing low connecting polished steel trestle bar is beautiful and the black wooden sides of the desk have been repainted over the original black with the same black color. The narrow walut wooden bin in the desk rear is great for storage and can use some pendaflex folder files. Mid Century Modern George Nelson for Herman Miller credenza/cabinet. There are minor issues/blemishes that I took photos of. But could not post every photograph of every minor issue so if you want more pictures please ask. Picture 3 shows some slight wear on the top edge. Picture 4 shows some wear/scratches on the side that are dark in color and a white spot. Picture 6 shows some slight separation of veneer on the top side edge. Picture 7 shows a dark large scratch on the side. Picture 9 shows some stains on the inside shelf. There is also marks on the inside of the cabinet doors. There are areas of colored stains on the bottom of each drawer. Picture 12 shows a sample of some of the scratches and spots in the finish on the top only visible in the light. Pair of Vintage Mid-Century JBL C36 Speakers w/ George Nelson Aluminum Feet
You are looking at a Pair of Vintage Mid-Century JBL C36 Speakers w/ George Nelson Aluminum Feet. These speakers have been packed away for a while. I hooked them up to my McIntosh. Solid state and tube, and they sound fantastic. I found out that a bigger room compliments them well. They have a wide stage and a very big sound field. Excellent speakers for big bands. Rock& roll, orchestra, and all kinds of music, these speakers can really bring them to life, really enjoyable to listen to. These speakers are in great condition. All of the speaker components are original, the front is clean, no damage that I can see, except that the backs of speakers, on the bottom corners, has a couple veneer chips, and one of the speakers has some marks on the top, but it’s really not noticeable. I’d consider it well-preserved. I haven’t opened or checked ... morethe components inside. But I’ve been an audiophile for many years, and I can say that there is no distortion, and it plays well on all levels. The aluminum legs are original George Nelson. Not a reproduction, like you often see on eBay. Local pickup is highly preferred. I also recommend Cardoza trucking. Which I have used before, you can contact them at 4six3-five71-sixsixsix4, ask for Rachel. They will wrap your speakers in blankets and handle them with care until they are delivered. It’ll take a little longer than normal. But they’ve done a fantastic job for me delivering fragile antique furniture across the country. I’ve posted other vintage audio equipment. The table itself is in nice vintage used and un-restored condition. It does show wear and has rubs and a few scratches- see pics for detail. Overall though it displays well in its vintage condition. nelson label is gone but the sticker backing remains in the drawer-light works but cord is old and should be replaced- ballast and wiring are original as well. rear clip was repaired because it had a crack- it holds well. You are bidding on a credenza by George Nelson for Herman Miller. This is a mounted unit and it is 74 inches across. There are two cabinets with shelves and four drawers. The top drawers have Herman Miller organizers and the bottom drawers are the perfect size for file folders. The drawers lock and there are keys for both sets of drawers. The keys have the Herman Miller logo. There is also a coin in one of the drawers which has the Nelson/Miller information. This item is either walnut or rosewood. It is much redder than other units I have seen. So I think it is rosewood, but I am not sure. This sideboard is in amazing condition. Winning bidder to arrange for shipping. Full working condition, the switch is tight and clicks on and off with ease. There are no chips to the white Lexon shade. There are a few marks to the top of the nickel plated cone. One is pronounced and slightly indented, please see detail pics. Swing arm joint operates smoothly and retains original connection hardware. Hello and thanks for looking at my auction. Up for bid is a barometer manufactured by the Howard Miller Clock Co. of Zeeland Michigan. This is a neat mid-century item designed by George Nelson and would make a nice addition to your Eames era decor. The barometer features a rosewood frame and brushed steel face behind thick acrylic. On the back it is marked model no. 650. There's a couple of minor scratches on the top panel but aren't very noticeable unless you're looking for them. The acrylic is also in very nice shape with only some very minor scuff marks. Overall. This item is in wonderful shape for it's age and very presentable. Please see pictures for condition. Wonderful DANISH MODERN styled. Pole Lamp. The globes alone are sometimes found online as"George Nelsons" and I have seen bids for $175.00+ per globe. They are very nicely designed with ribbed china like touch and they give off a wonderful suttle light, the switch will turn one one, then 2, then all three, which gives off a much nicer, warmer, light than any over head fixture, that I have ever experienced. Designed by George Nelson for Herman Miller. This modular wall unit can be configured many ways. These tension-mount systems were designed to serve as room dividers as well as wall units. The tension pole can be mounted anywhere in the room and need not be against a wall. The drop-down cabinets can be raised higher to be used as a laptop or writing desk. The shelving can be staggered at different heights to accommodate different needs. It is in 2 parts at the moment but can be put together to make one unit. In the following pictures. The panel measures about 43" wide by 66" long(4" of which is a hem at one end) This was once part of a larger curtain as it has been hemmed by hand at one side. And there is a 4" hem at the bottom. The fabric is still very sturdy, with no holes or dry rot. The previous owner told me that there is an area with some very small faint spots(maybe paint) although I can't find it. Sliding Glass Door Credenza(this auction) Here's a wonderful vintage 1950s era George Nelson designed for Herman Miller glass credenza unit. This particular style was made especially to sit on a Herman Miller slat bench as seen in the first photo. It features 2 sliding glass doors. Both with the iconic George Nelson"scoop" handles that are built into the glass and a interior lamp that switches on and off as needed. The piece is a authentic but is missing the Herman Miller sticker ... moreas many of these vintage pieces are. CONDITION Overall the unit is in excellent condition with no major detractions. There are no breaks. Cracks or splits to the wood. The sliding glass is complete and without chips or cracks. The lamp has been tested and works as it should. The electrical cord is complete and without damage. There are some light scuff and scratch marks as seen in the photos that are normal for a unit of this age. Many of these have been lightly colored in with a furniture crayon and are very hard to spot. Photo 9 and 10 show both sides of the unit which has some of this light wear. Photo 11 shows a small area on the top which also has some light wear. These photos show the sides with direct light applied to it to make these minor detractions stand out more. The unit is missing the glass(or wood) shelves that went inside but it does have 8 of the metal clips that hold the shelves. These fit into the interior slots as they should and are secure. The cord that goes to the lamp is secure to the sides and top but not taut. It leads to a vintage transformer which sits loosely on the bottom interior. Vintage RARE 1950s atomic MCM Eames/Nelson era Boltabest geometric pattern bakelite serving tray. Made in USA. Stamped on the back with the number 247. Grey-beige/taupe patten color on white background. Dark brown reverse side. Awesome mid-century atomic retro pattern- mod wavy paper. Super-RARE find! In nice condition with some minor dings and scratches. And some pattern wear in one spot on the edge, but overall, very nice. Approximately 13.5 x 10.5 inches.
