Antique primitive Vintage Dark Brown Crock Jar Wax Seal?
Antique dark brown crock jar used for vegetables or fruit. The lid was sealed to the jar with wax i believe. Such jars date back to the 1200's however this one is probably from the late 1800's- to the early 1900s. It is in very good condition considering it's age. The inside rim is rough and has small chips. As you can see in the picture. There is some discoloration at the bottom, appears to be a manufacturing flaw. Otherwise there are no other cracks, other chips and the glaze is in good condition. This would be a great addition to a collection. Pictures are part of description also. I will combine postage I have considerable inventory I need to consolidate and doesn't help that I keep adding to it. If you find something you like remember I will combine postage.

Really neat older hand made hand carved decoy that I believe is a trumpeter swan. Good condition with some scrapes and missing paint to wooden body. RARE Primitive Montgomery Ward Co 1895-1910 US Standard Wagon Grain Farm Scale
Antique WOOD Grain Scale& weights HIGH GRADE STANDARD MTGY WARD&CO CHICAGO IL This is a totally awesome Antique Head Unit for a Platform Wagon Farm/Hay/Grain Scale circa 1895-1910. We found a copy of the 1895 Montgomery Ward Co. catalog where scales like there were advertised on page 596. How it workd was the wagon full of hay. Or grain, or whatever, would be pulled over the platform in front of the scale, the scale would be weighed, and the empty weight of the wagon would be subtracted and then you knew how much"stuff" be it hay, grain, dirt, etc. was being carried away so you knew how much to charge. This was the"head unit" of the scale, set off to the side of the platform. This is indeed a very rare piece. Most of these were left out in the open so the wood became aged and the scales just weathered away. This ... moreone must have been out of the weather because the artwork on the front and back are still in outstanding condition. This piece is currently at the front of our shop and receives dozens of compliments from our customers on it each and every day. Although the Bamileke are primarily farmers. They are also hunters and traders. Women are responsible for planting and harvesting due to the belief that women make the soil more fruitful. The major crops grown are yams, peanuts, and maize. The men in the ... moretribe help with clearing the land and hunting. The Bamileke tribe worships a supreme god and their ancestors. Ancestral spirits are embodied in the skulls of deceased ancestors. Skulls of ancestors are kept to give the spirits a place to reside to prevent them from causing trouble for the family. If a skull is not kept, a ceremony must be done to compensate. Much of the art produced by the Bamileke tribe is associated with royal ceremonies. Art objects show the position of a person in the tribal hierarchy. As a person descended or ascended the social ladder, the materials used and the number of pieces changed. In a chief’s residence one would find ancestral figures and masks, as well as headdresses, bracelets, beaded thrones, pipes, necklaces, swords, horns, fans, elephant tusks, leopard skins, terracotta pots, and dishware. All of this was used to assert the chief’s power. Beadwork and masks are common in this tribe. Masks were decorated with copper, cowrie shells, and beads. I wish I knew more about this item. It looks like an African antelope of some sort. Made of metal(likely iron? it is rusty! 12" high, 11" across, with a candle holder welded to its back- looks like perhaps an"afterthought. I feel that this design might be termed mid-century modern. It is angular and stylized. Figure is rusty, adding to its charm. I can envision this as part of a Christmas display perhaps, along with primitive reindeer figures.
